Holy rocket science Batman!
If you ping yahoo, cnet, cnn, disney, amazon, etc...and get a low ping but you get a HIGH ping when you ping slickdeals then take a wild guess where the problem might be?
Wow...I just raped that sentence.

Why would it be moved to tech support? Anyways, now I know where the brat comes from in your name.

I have heard some complaints on the site being slow... I've not personally seen it myself. The more detail you give about your configuration the better chance a solution will be found.
Oh and airbrat a little patience would be appreciated.

Nothing has changed, and I havn't changed my configuration...i'm not behind a router or anything. Doesn't make sense. Only have one computer, not sharing my connection with anybody. I dont think it could be IE, since slickdeals has always been fast until today.

SeverMatrix has been having issues with their servers all day and I do believe that is who slickdeals.net's host use.
I only know because I have my website hosted through a reseller that uses ServerMatrix as well.

Here is the official word
Connectivity is restored.
The Planet was performing router maintenance, leading to slow or no response. They were swapping router cards just a few minutes ago, but connectivity should be restored now.
and
One of the core routers for the datacenter had become overloaded after the recent network restructuring. While the overload is only a temporary problem as result of the current chained network setup (which will be replaced with a direct connection for both datacenters), one of the cards in the router needed to be replaced. The downtime was them swapping it out (althought it took longer than I expected) and things should be back up and running now. If it all goes good, this will reduce the packet loss problems we've had today and keep the network running 100% until the permanent datacenter link is formed.

I think browser is a personal thing. I can see why some people would like opera, but personally can't stand it. Too mucked up for my taste.
I was wondering if it had to do with the "in line" ads in message threads. It's the first time I've seen them if you are not logged in...
