This is good news to know. You know you would think managers wouldn't revoke these internet coupons, after all its in their TOS to accept them and I doubt its a "selective walmarts." I wonder how they will handle the new coupons that you can use through your telephone. One popular grocery store chain is already doing them and they are quite the success and it saves paper, trees, etc...you get the idea. ;)

I used to work in a Walmart in NH. We always took internet coupons, at least I did when they came through my register.
I remember though, right before I left employment, there was a big issue with some fraudulent website releasing coupons. We had an alert out on the address that was shown and we were told to void any and all coupons with that address on them.
I wish I remembered what the company name was... but it was over a year ago.
But I agree, it definitely depends on your cashier, and if you just ask to see a Customer Service Manager, they know a hell of alot more than your lowly cashier does :D :D :D

Last night at East-West Connector, Austell, GA we tried to use some ip internet coupons and the cashier told us no. We showed her the walmart policy and asst. mgr came to check and told us no, I told her that I did call 800-walmart and she asked me for my name. Sure enough, she got co-mgr to explain that she got the letter abt my complaint no black and white cpns but color cpns only. She was polite to explain..... those internet coupons must have
" black and white or color" words on the middle by the left side of those internet coupon due to fraud cpns. And she explained that 800-walmarts just take complaints and does not have anything to say for that matter.
I told her that OK and will use at other grocery. I thanked her.
It looks like no internet cpns will accept unless words of "black and white or color" on the ip cpns on the middle by the left side of the cpns. Thatwas new to me last night!

just left walmart in Warner Robins, GA and I got shut down too. I went through the self checkout and I was trying to use the rayovac $1 coupons that expire the end of this month. Idid not have any problems with them beeping, but employee did not know how to enter them into the cash register, so he had to call a CSM . The CSM told me that I could not used them becasue the value amount of the coupon was higher than the item.( 2pk .94) I pull out the coupon policy out and had her read it and she still said "no"
I put everything back and left the store.

I've never had a problem with our Walmart ever. Actually its the ones from the Sunday paper that I usually have trouble with. Like on Monday I had one for $1 off Minute rice, I bought exactly what was in the picture and the register wouldn't take it. Said what I bought didn't match the coupon. I showed the girl the box and she just overroad it and entered the amount. Go through the checkouts with young girls , they don't give a crap and will just enter the info and take the interenet coupons without fuss.

I did the same thing awhile back... never had to use it until today. The cashier said "sorry, we don't accept internet coupons" to which I replied "well according to your website you do" and she just said "nope, can't" as she scanned my other coupons. I pulled the copy of their policy out of my purse and she glanced at it quickly before taking it to her manager... she came back apologizing and saying she wished they'd make up their minds. I told her no problem, I understand, and all was good.
But if I didn't have that copy of the policy in my purse, I would have been out $3 - and they were items that I didn't need, just getting cause I had the coupons.

Why would you be out $3? You can easily make them take off any item. I refuse to buy anything that my legitimate coupon is refused on. If we put up with them treating us this way, it will never get better!

I'd like to know if anyone has ever tried using a cash register produced manufacture coupon at a store different from where it was made. I insisted at Krogers that they accept the one from Meijers since it says it is a manufacture coupon and not a store coupon. She gave in but said that it was not supposed to be allowed.

I was in few weeks ago and they told me only can use 14 coupons, Manager had to over ride it. Never had that happen before. They were not happy, but I didn't care, if they didn't take em I would made em put it all away. :P

Darn. Wish I would've seen this when my toddler was still eating Gerber baby food. I had printed coupons straight off the Gerber website, and Wal-Mart wouldn't take them b/c they said they were not getting reimbursed from Gerber. No biggie though, b/c from then on I just bought all my baby food from Kroger, who happily accepted my coupons.

Today when I went to Walmart I had a bunch of items which would end up being free after using coupons (97 cent item, $1 coupon). In the morning the cashier took them fine, scanned them, no beeping, and I got $1 off for each one. Later in the afternoon I go back to buy some more items and the register beeps, saying the coupon is greater than the items cost. The cashier informs me that I cant use a coupon unless the item is priced higher than the coupons value. I've told her that when this happened in the past they have always just adjusted the coupon down to match the selling price. She informs me they cannot do this as 'we wont get reimbursed for the coupon'. Anyone know if there's any truth to this?
I'm starting to get upset with Walmart and their (lack of) coupon policy. Sometimes they go through fine, other times I get hassled. Sometimes they beep, sometimes they dont beep. Whats up with this?! Also, I read over their coupon policy and it doesnt mention anything about adjusting the value of coupons down (Taget's specifically mentions that they will do it). Does anyone know if they have an 'official' policy regarding this? It seems even sometimes when they call over a manager sometimes they push it through and other times they dont. Why cant everyone be on the same page?! Aghhh!!!!

Target is awesome. Just go there. If the item wont scan, they just ask you what you would pay for it, and then they key it in!

Where do you people find these coupons?
You can get coupons anywhere.
Anyways, here's what happened today when I tried to use an actual (not printed) manufacturer coupon.
I had a BOGO on any 26oz or smaller Milk-Bone Snacks. I grabbed two 24oz box of those different flavor bone snacks for my puppy because he loves them. Brought it up to the cash register and gave it to the lady. She looked at it and told me, "You can't use to this because it's not 26 oz." I told her, "I can use it because it says 26 oz or SMALLER" She kept arguing with me telling me that since it's not 26 oz I cannot use it. But I clearly pointed out that it says smaller so I can get a smaller one. This went on for awhile and the manager there didn't even care too.
Anyways, so I told her that I didn't want those products anymore and clearly state that I'll be driving next door to Target to redeem my coupon. Plus, I asked for her name too because I was going to file a complaint about her.
Also, she was so rude too. Never apologized or anything for the inconvenience -- just kept on arguing with me. Well, I called Walmart's CS and told them about what happened because there isn't really a Milk Bone 26oz that exist at the store because it goes from 24oz to 60+oz. He just told me that corporate will look into it and took down my number and address.
After this I went next door to Target and used the coupon without any problem and I grabbed the exact same thing. The cashier at the register told me that as long as it scans they (even Wal-mart) should take it.
Needless to say, I can understand why I never visit Wal-mart -- but I thought I'll make an exception since I was in the neighborhood.

I use printed coupons all the time never had a problem until yesterday. The cashier I had said they can't take them and called them fake and said I shouldn't print coupons cause it's fraud! I told her No it's not! Then I tell her I had just used printed coupons there the night before. She says they just had a meeting about it and were told not to take any internet printed coupons and calls a CMS on the phone and I guess they tell her to take them because she scans them and says well we can this time but don't try again because now I know they don't take them. Whatever!

I went to wal-Mart yesterday with 5 Pace coupons...had an assistant manager look me in the face and tell me they were frauds.... He could have been a little more tactful and that fired up the psycho in me so I came home and called Bentonville (1800walmart) and AGAIN they told me the DO take internet coupons (I have to call them once a week,)
then I called the main store manger here and told him what his assistant manager said to me, kept him on the phone for 20 minutes politely complaining, told him I was furious (not at him of course) but because i do all my shopping there(only big store in this little town) and I always make sure I use the coupons for EXACTLY what they are for and never try to pull anything over on anyone cause it will just make it harder for those of us who have to use coupons, and I was upset cause i had to stand in line for 20 minutes while ppl were trying to figure out how to use a coupon, ppl were getting pi$$ed at me for standing in line behind me so long...he had to tell me about all the coupon fraud they encounter and that is what makes it so hard on those of us that use legit internet coupons...he told me he was fine with me using my coupons and to holler at him if I had any problems...
so I promptly ran back out there while it was fresh in everyones mind and wouldnt have to go through this again and got the jars...saw the assistant mgr that gave me so much grief in the first place and he gave me a dirty look so I stuck my tongue out at him, and held up my bag like a trophy cause i saw him looking at my bag trying to see what was in it (you can see thru walmart plastic bags and I was so upset over the whole thing I forgot to grab a tote on my way out the second time)...he started to say something and I told him to go talk to his boss...:lmao: So I wasted gas but got 5 bottles of Pace!!
I just had this problem! I had seen this thread prior to going to I felt ok. The cashier was very rude and put up a big stink including rolling her eyes, repeating things as if I didn't understand, and shaking her head.
If you 'fight back' and know what you're talking about (with them taking internet coupons) eventually they take it.
When I came home I called corporate to verify this and even printed out the policy (as suggested) for my next trip.

So, Walmart denied my coupon today as well. I had printed off a coupon for some "Over the Moon" brand milk. The cashier gave my printed coupon a strange look when I handed it to her, so I thought I was about to get into the Internet coupon policy argument. She called over a manager that inspected it and then replied it was a fake because the address says "1 Fawcett Drive." She said I was trying to use a fraudulent coupon! I was told that ANY coupon with this address is fake.
This is ridiculous. I have several coupons sent to me directly from the manufacturer with this address listed.
And I know for certain that the address is indeed not fake. My family owns a gas station and convenience store and its my job to send in the coupons we receive for reimbursement. Most of the cigarette companies use the facility at this address and I have been sending the coupons here for years. And without fail, we have gotten reimbursed for every single cent!

Wal-mart is the only LARGE store in my town...I dont have the money to drive 30 miles to a target and the tiny grocery store in this town has a third of the selection at almost double the price AND they wont take internet coupons at all...wal-mart has good and bad points just like any store...if we went to the extreme of "boycotting" in this tiny town...alot of people would loose jobs and the rest of us wouldnt be able to even afford necessities...
I don't live in a small town and I've gone from 4-5 trips a week 8 years ago to 10-15 trips a YEAR. I started using coupons at my local grocery stores and go to Target & KMart for other stuff.
BUT, one of the few times I went last year I was wrongly denied my IPs, so I fought my local store mgmt and district at the corporate level. search this thread for my posts on how I did this with a few phone calls. it's a case of knowing the rules and going over the head of anyone who tells you differently. cashier...csm...front mgr...mgr on duty...store mgr...market mgr...zone vp...special corp complaint dept (that is NOT 1800walmart).

The sad truth is Walmart's business is booming during this recession period and tough times calls for tough policies and strict ones at that. I can understand why more and more of you are having problems with the cashiers not accepting the internet prints. I'm sure there are people out there who's ruined it for all of us with fraudulent coupons.

I went into Walmart last Thurs. to get meds. Grabbed a couple of other items I had coupons for. (some extra Easter candy). When I went to check out the cahsier called a supervisor over and talk about coupon nazis, you would not believe thoes two. The supervisor said there were 15 new fake coupons out there with a $2,500 reward for them. ( I think this supervisor thinks shes gonna get the reward) She explained WM had another meeting and they now know how to read the barcode which contains the expiration date coded in it. She had to approve my 2 coupons. I asked what the coupons were for and she said oh we know. I then said they ought to post the fake coupons for the cusomers to see. She said it was posted in back for the employees to see. And they were calling the police if anyone tried to use any of these new "fake coupons".

I know some of the Walmarts are not taking printed coupons but today I went with a coupon that was not printed and they didn't want to take it. It is a coupon that was mailed to me from Kraft First Taste to try a Deli Creations Sandwich for free. The cashier called over a manager and she said they can't take any coupons for free items because there has been too much fraud and that Walmart took a big loss on these kind of coupons! I only have Walmart and Save A Lot to buy food unless I drive 40 minutes out of my way which has a Kroger. I have a houseparty coming up and I got coupons to pass out for free Oscar Mayer hot dogs and now I'm worried about handing them out and no one will be able to use them! I was thinking about emailing Kraft to let them know that Walmart won't take their coupon. Any one have any idea what I should do? Most of the time the cashier doesn't even look at them since they scan with no problem. As long as they say that they're a manufacturer's coupon, any store should take them no matter which store you get them from.

That sounds like a problem between wal mart and the manufacturer, not the coupon... probably the cashier or manager or whoever is just too lazy to do their job and actually either verify you actually bought the item or verify (and write it on the coupon if needed) the price or value of the coupon, especially with free or bogo coupons.

I remember seeing a note to stop taking one coupon, because 1,000 of them where given out, but 5,000 where redeemed. So if a Walmart doesn't take a coupon, remember that its the few scammers, that screw it up for the rest of us.

Well this can be summed up by calling 1800 walmart with the supervisor there with you, I garuntee you will get your way!!! Customer is always right, just recently we took back a laptop that was 180 days old which is over the policy for a return. Well he asked for the store supervisor after he talked to me, then the supervisor told him no as well. Well you have it he calls 1800 walmart get a manager/supervisor on the phone and would you believe the guy handed me the phone and the supervisor on the line says give him his money back, not only that but also a $200 gift card for his troubles..HAHA some BS we do it all day long when you call 1800 walmart most of the time get a gift card as well.
Repp me if this works for you, I guarantee it works!
So call 1800 walmart and bam they will take them.

I just got a call back from SWM apologizing to me about telling me my Pace coupons are fake. The lady was real nice so if I can get the link I will print it out and take to her so she can be "in the know" about some of the fakes.
you should never let them tell you your coupon is fake without the manager in charge being able to put their hands on a memo from corporate with details about the 'fake' coupon(s). If this doesn't happen or they claim you're still wrong, I would escalate up the chain.

the one thing the policy does not cover is overages.
the one thing the policy does not cover is overages.
overage is nice, but not something worth fighting for. IMO they're supposed to adjust coupons down to item price, but they almost never do, so it's either they give overage or they try to deny the use of the coupon. I still try to get it, but like I said, if the cashier says they can't accept it, I'll tell them they should adjust the coupon DOWN to the item price.
IMO, more often than not, the fact they do NOT have a written policy on overage is to our advantage, since every store I know that has an official policy on overage states they won't give overage. so, NO POLICY ON OVERAGE = better chance of getting overage.

Never...ever allow a cashier to adjust down your coupon (unless it's a penny or two). If an item is $2.50 and your coupon is for $4.00...they adjust it down...they get the overage plus handling fee...you get screwed. If they don't want to offer you the overage...ALWAYS take back your coupon. Never give the store free money.

Funny thing is I never have a problem and in fact when the item is priced at .79 and the coupon is for 1.00 they still give me the whole coupon amnt of a 1.00 and not just the cost of prodct. Not all of the time but has happened numerous times and always at Wally World
And I dont think they are going to lose money over coupons they claim are fake..please there the 2nd leading company in the US

WalMart also has to allow you to return seasonal merchandise. Don't let the customer service counter tell you otherwise, because WalMart DOES NOT have a policy about seasonal merchandise.

Also, the customer service folks are just scared. That's good to keep in mind when they dispute your coupons. If you won't go away quietly, they're more scared their boss will see they upset the customers. In a lot of companies, "I'm calling the Better Business Bureau" are magic words.

I hope this is the right place to ask about this.
I had problems with walmart and wine coupons this week. The first night it was for a coupon that was 2.00 off any cheese. It was a coupon from Gallo, and the cashier said I didn't have Gallo - the coupon was pretty clear though - no purchase required. I had the manager come and I got credit but the cashier was really rude.
The next night my husband went and had trouble with 1.00 off ice from Barefoot. They would not take it, saying they did not sell barefoot wine.
What part of no alcoholic beverage purchase required do they not understand?
Anyway, I wrote the store and the manager called, but got my husband. She told him the cashiers had to be careful and were scared because some coupons made their registers come up short.
Anyone know what on earth she was talking about?

I was in SWM this morning and when I went to check out there was only a single light was on, but I didn't see the cashier until I got right up to the register. Was a short small older lady.
So she rung up all my stuff. Then as I was 'spoon feeding' her my IPQ's she says something. Sounded like she said they were a 'scam'? So, I think I started her when I said ***WHAT*** very loud!!! At first she didn't want to repeat herself, but she did very quietly. I looked at the lady behind me and then I looked back at the cashier and said in a firm voice 'Well anyone that doesn't use Q's is loosing out!'
She said they used to not take the IPQ's and then she said they only take them if they scan. She kept rattling on about crap, so I just let it go because of her age (older generation) and not fully understanding IPQ's. Though she said she has used Q's before.
So, she falls into that category where some cashiers act like using Q's is stealing and they don't want to sell you stuff and makes sales.
PFFT! I'm on my way back in a few mins!

So today a different older lady cashier checked me out. She rung up everything and then I said I had some Q's. So I proceeded to spoon feed my coupons and gave her the first 2 that were alike. She looks at them and asks 'Did you print these out?' So I said 'Why, yes, I sure did!!!' There was no way in hell I was going to hand over all of them at once cause for sure she would have gotten overwhelmed and all flustered! So she scanned the first 2 VERY SLOW. Then I handed her the next 3 alike. Looking at the Q's in my hand, she says, 'I don't know if you can use all these Q's.' So I said well then call a manager over here, they said I could use them as long as they scan! So she scanned those 3 and I continued to spoon feed them to her. I had 15 $1 Q's (not all the same) and the total before Q's was near $50.
I swear the old lady cashiers act like they just watched dateline where they did some show that all younger people are always trying to con the older ones out of something!
The guy cashiers never act that way! Cleavage usually helps though!

Today's shopping trip was much more pleasurable. I was the 3rd person in line and the very cheerful cashier asian/korean? girl recognized me (probably from coupons) and she told me hi right away. Then when it was my turn to check out she was just as friendly and cheerful as she could be and so very excited about my coupons.
Now if all the cashiers had her personality!
The only minor thing was the electronic signature pad didn't work.

now i have read the policy numerous times and am too chicken to try disputing it. although i did try to talk to a manager one time and was told the internet printables had to have that extra weird barcode that is usually in the top right hand corner under the exp. date. so i said forget it and left. but today when i went another lady told me the policy was that they wouldnt take printables if they came from a certain city...im assuming she meant what city they are supposed to send it back to for the refund. and of course the cashier didnt know what the actually city was so i have no idea which ones to avoid using there. anyone know?

The other day I went in to by huggies pampers (2.00/1 a rare find!) and the very polite young lady took my coupon and evensaid aren't these great! but I had been in such a rush that I didn't realize I had grabbed the wrong size. so today i took them back in to exchange. and the lady asked me to go get another box. asked about the fact that I had used a coupon lady said it was ok and they would use it on the exchange. but i returned with a bigger size and was willing to pay the difference. the next lady said I would need the coupon cuz she had to scan it. so i produced a second one to scan (prints out two) and she kept it. and asked why I would have to end up using two coupons for one box of diapers an she says they don't even take internet coupons. so I asked her to call her corpt. office and the coupon magically scaned! but i still lost one coupon! so off to the libray to try to print two more since my computer won't print anymore!

My cleavage wasn't working the other day, he literally said he had to go check each Q before taking them, as I handed them one by one... Then a manager came over and looked at him when she saw one item ended up being .94 after the coupon, like I was stealing it from them!

I just called in a complaint on my local walmart for hassling me about coupons and I suggest every one met with hostility when properly using coupons does the same. There is strength in numbers and maybe if they see that there are a lot of people that use them they will stop treating the customer like a common criminal. The cashier last night was shaking in fear telling me that they just had a big meeting and the managers threatened to write them up for taking coupons. I don't know if she meant internet ones, ones that were expired, not legit, what, she just said coupons. As soon as I started matching up my products on the conveyor belt with the matching coupons she started getting hostile and began to scrutinize every single one just praying for a reason to deny one. Of course this isn't my first time at the walmart beeyotch cashier rodeo so I was ready to pounce right back. I know the rules and I play by them, I am NOT a friggin thief. I am just trying to stretch my hard earned dollar and I think only a fool would not try in these tough economic times. I am sorry I am not going to pay a dollar more for every item in my cart because it makes cashiers uncomfortable to deal with coupons. I really wish walmart would invest as much time informing cashiers of proper coupon use as they do scaring the piss out of them about fraudulent coupon use. I saved 38.41 when all was said and done 30 minutes later and left the store wound up like a spring, but I never back down when I am right. I can't wait to get my scripted call from the store manager with their half hearted apology for my negative store experience. LOL Please just train your people walmart before I end up in the pokey for going off on ones of these goons one night. Maybe we should all volunteer to teach the cashiers about coupons at our local stores since walmart won't.

I only have a black and white printer so when I took my coupons to walmart the cashier told me that I could have made multiple copies of the coupons so she went to her manager and they took 10 min. discussing what they were going to do- I showed her the coupon policy and they said we will only accept one for each item!! but that next time they may not accept any due to them being black and white!! I actually had a cashier at Walmart yesterday deny me the use of my Purina coupon because I bought cat food not dog food. The coupon was good on any Purina item, but she thought cat food was also for human consumption so it didn't qualify. The 18 year old CSM had to come up and tell her she was wrong and to take the coupon. I know this is going to sound horrible, but she was asian...do you think that had anything to do with it?

I was using my coupons at the self-checkout, I was having probs and the cashier came over. Took my stack and just plugged in each one, she didn't even read them. Guess I shop at a good wal-mart :) I used black and white ones too...I think some managers micromanage their employees way to much and it ends up affecting the shopping experience for customers.

Walmart is totally taking it's customers for granted cause think they got a monopoly on S##t. If they don't watch it they are gonna end up like Kmart, the Russia of retail. Does anybody know anything about walmart's policy on an item ringing up for more than the shelf price?
Each register has a little sign on the counter saying something to the effect of "having the first item's price adjusted and you GET the other identical ones" Of course the cashiers didn't know what they were talking about and kept mentioning that they don't do the "3 dollar thing anymore" - whatever the $3 thing was anyway....

Well, I probably wasted my time then writing a letter complaining about the Hudson Ave., Rochester, NY, run-around I was given. First I was told they do not accept internet coupons. After showing the print-out of Walmart's policy, a Supervisor then told me I had made copies of 2 of the 4 coupons, which I hadn't. She refused to allow 2 of the 4 to be taken off the bill. Gimme a break.
But I had a great experience today at the Marketplace Rochester store. There are self-service check-out scanners at that store, and a nice Supervisor told me to just scan the internet coupons when instructed to. Man, that was easy! She said there is no problem accepting coupons that the scanner accepts.

I know this isn't a question about their coupon policy but I was wondering if anyone had details on their Returns policy: I recently won a Nintendo Wii in a raffle but I've already got a Wii, and I was hoping to return it to Walmart for merchandise credit so I can buy groceries and stuff with it instead, but the guy told me that they don't do receiptless returns for merchandise over $25. Is that true? I thought it seemed rather strict, but I dunno...since it is Electronics merchandise though, I wasn't sure and I didn't want to push it. Thanks for any insight!

Q: Do you accept RETURNS without a receipt?
A: Wal-Mart, for several years, has accepted returns without a receipt, even though many of our competitors require receipts for all returns. Wal-Mart gives customers the option of a cash refund (if the purchase was under $25), a shopping card for the amount of the purchase (if it was over $25), a credit to the customer's credit card or an even exchange for the product. Also, as applicable, we follow any manufacturer’s warranties.
Hope this helps.

I have another Walmart return question that I posted in another thread that had to do with Father's day specials but it quickly got buried. I'm not sure where the place to ask this question would be other than asking at Walmart but even a customer service rep at my local store scratched her head when I asked. Here's what I've already posted:
Can anybody clue me in on the Walmart TV return/exchange policy?
I understand from what I've heard here on the forum and also what my local store customer service rep has told me that one has 90 days to return or exchange a TV.
My first question is how many times is a customer allowed to do this? I would think there would have to be a limit as to how many times you could do this as what is there to prevent a person from "trading up" every three months as prices fall and new models become available. Theoretically, one could keep doing this forever, correct?
The other thing that doesn't quite make sense to me is that there is a 7-day price protection policy. How does this policy dovetail with the exchange policy? If the price drops within 7-days, you could just bring in your receipt and get the price difference, correct? But if the price drops between 8 and 90 days, you'd have to box up the TV and return it and buy it back again? That seems ridiculous to have to do that.
The reason I ask, is that I recently bought a 37" TV and then returned it the next day and exchanged it for a 32" TV. It's now a week later and I now want to exchange this 32" TV for another 37" TV. Will I have a problem in that my receipt reflects that there already has been an exchange done?
Thanks.

@ therocco
well if you want to go safe with exchange, then dont do exchange, do return and buy new item, so you'll always end up with fresh receipt...
and yes, you can go on forever with this, of course as long the policy remains the same...

Walmart's return policy is the best. They seldom ask questions. They have, in my experience, taken down my driver's license number. I imagine this is to keep tabs on many times you use the "largest rental store in the world".
I have returned a broken DVD player bought from I don't know where and told them that I lost the receipt. I bought a scratched Wii game on ebay and exchanged it at Walmart saying it was a gift that didn't work. They wouldn't take back the canoe paddle I tried to return after a hard weekend of boating. Hmm, I guess the scratches and chunks missing from it were a dead giveaway that it wasn't a gift I didn't need.

I work for Wal-Mart And I was a CSM for around 8 years they do have one of the best return policys. I have issues with some of the thing Wal-Mart does but not how they handle returns. They are more than fair.

Walmart Corp. HQ reads this thread so if you have a problem at a store that you post about on here, make sure you include the location and possibly even the CSM's first name.
Wow, how do you know that?

I wouldn't say more than fair they haggled us about a dvd player bought that never read discs we brought back a few days later than "a non posted 14 day policy"...
We went through a lot of bs for it. Finally they accepted it back...
But i love every other encounter....

DO you even understand the term "lying fraudster"?

Wal-Mart Coupon Policy
Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
* Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
* Free merchandise (or manufacturer's Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
* Store coupons
* Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
* Internet coupons
* Soft drink container caps
Store coupons, refers to competitiors's coupons ?

i think the policy is meant to be good but seems certain walmarts do not follow it. I was told at the walmart right by me that my return on an upopened 80$ merchandise would earn me back 25 bucks cash without a receipt - THATS IT. i laughed and thought the girl was confused, so i called the manager - was told my ONLY option was 25 cash- no gift card for the 80 amount etc etc.
i even went to look if by some great chance, the items price has dropped to 25$.
nope- it was crazy- fought with different managers for 3 days until i finally went to a walmart across town. - they gave me the 80 in store credit without a problem, but the one by me is terrible with their returns.

Wouldn't allow me to use a bogo coupon and another coupon on two products said only could use the bogo, since it was being used on both products...
Is this true?
I fought it a minute but was like ok, since I dont know the true policy?
I though the bogo coupon was only attached to the free item. So you could use a coupon on the other item or vice versa.

I always use a BOGO and another coupon for the one I am actually paying for at WM. Target and Rite Aid on the other hand allow BOGO and 2 cents off coupons per purchase--at least for me in Baltimore.

I have tried coupons at walmart in the past with limited success. They reject coupons from online retailers such as Amazon unless it is a manufacturers coupon. They also do not accept rebate deals for money back.

Ive had all online coupons rejected. Even when they are manufacture coupons.
I went to Wal Mart and had a bad experience using coupons this afternoon. I had the cashier call the manager on duty over due to multiple issues with accepting coupons. The manager on duty did not accept two of my coupons one was a Publix coupon and the other was a printable manufacture coupon that scans. The customer service skills displayed by both the cashier and manager lacked in just about every aspect of the transaction. The cashier seemed especially unpleasant, the manager took a good five minutes to make it over to the register when called, When the manager did arrive to the register he made no acknowledgment towards me and seemed annoyed that he had to come over the register regarding coupons, the cashier did not smile once or attempt to hand me my bags or place the bags in the cart after the transaction. I did have a toddler with me I could of used a bit of assistance. This is the first time I have tried to use coupons at Wal Mart.
Below details the issues I had with coupon usage at Wal Mart:
The cashier rejected the smart source coupons from the 6/21 sunday paper for the Air Wick Scented Oil Refill and plug in. The Air Wick coupons were accepted only after the manager was hesitant about accepting the coupons and I said "this should not be a problem", he reread the coupon and then said its okay.
I tried to use a printable manufacturers coupon for Renu contact solution with expiration date 10/1/2009 that scans, it was rejected by both the cashier and manager on duty. I'll buy the contact solution elsewhere.
I tried to use a Publix Coupon it was also rejected by both the cashier and manager on duty the coupon was Save $5.00 with a combined purchase of any 3 Band-Aid Brand, Neosporin, Benadryl, Caladryl, Cortaid or Johnson & Johnson Red Cross Brand First Aid Products with a July 31, 2009 expiration date. I will also buy those products elsewhere.

OK. First time I ever actually BOUGHT something at Wally world...
I have been inside in the past to check prices and look at the cattle and checkout options...
I was at Super target 1st looking for those free trial size aquafresh and it was no go so I crossed into Wally...
I scoured checkouts for awhile and finally had to suck it up and stand there like a bonehead.
Is there a correlation between overweight checkout chicks being coupon nazi's vs. young hot and dumb ones....(COUGH) YES!
Of course I got the well marbled one calling the manager...
Had my free mars relief coupon, 2 free aquafresh trial sizes and the trident dollar/off 2 coupon.
I was pissed it came to anything, let alone $1.28 but such is life.
The manager scowled at me and the coupons like I was a criminal? WTF. I told her they are all on the Manufacturer's website and she could go print them right now for herself.
Meanwhile. Pissed off people have to wait behind me because of this bullshit.
I WILL NEVER SHOP AT THAT HOLE AGAIN UNLESS IT IS THE ONLY OPTION TO EXERCISE FREE STUFF AND IT WILL STOP RIGHT THERE AT THE FREE.

They wouldn't take a pampers manuf coupon one time because part of the date was ripped off. It WAS valid, just a bad ripping job on my part. So I used a Q for a lesser value from the same book I got the first one from which too was valid. I told them the Q's were from the same book and were both valid, and if it wasn't it wouldn't scan. I use to be a teller, I know this! She still acted all mean and didn't take it AND she made a big scene out of it. I was so ticked off!

I acutally agree with this too. I always have a recipet if I return so I've never had problems but one time they took back a box of diapers because they were defected. I had only used a few until I figured out why every single one of them was leaking. On one side of the diaper there was no leak guard strip. The whole box was like that. Then another time I bought a diff brand of diapers than I normally buy because they were on sale and I had a Q, I bought the size dc wore in the pampers brand, but when I bought the huggies and put them on her they were way too small. took them back told them what happened and they took them back too! thank goodness!

Wal-Mart = no customer service
I sure wish there was a Super Target next door to every Wal-Mart. The Wal-Mart in my town is the only discount department store for miles and when I went in for paint on Sunday (the parking lot is FULL) they had one girl handling paint, toys, bikes, etc. What a joke. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Can't wait till their monopoly gets knocked out!
So...I went to Walmart today and once again got static for using coupons!!!!! WTF! The clerk acted as if each coupon that I used was going directly out of her personal bank account. Srsly, and behind me in line was a guy buying only bullets--I think he wanted to use the bullets on me for holding up the line for coupons--he seemed to be in a real hurry for something... The point is--The clerks bad attitude towards coupon usage not only puts me in a pissy mood but also feeds the anger of those in line behind me, its just an accident waiting to happen. Speaking of accidents...when I got home and was unloading the car the top of my Lysol trigger spray cleaner was unscrewed--makes me wonder if I got a passive aggressive clerk. I have to admit I was pleased the clerk scanned and accepted my printable manufacturer coupons.. However, I need some help from fellow SD's since I am new to coupon using. Was the clerk correct to reject my printable target coupon???

Stand your ground with the Q nazi cashiers. The last time I had a cashier like that, who voiced her personal opinion that IPs were a 'scam', I paused and then said VERY LOUDLY "What did you just say!!!!!!" The cashier got all scared and very quietly repeated herself. Then I turned and looked at the lady behind me, smiled, and then back to the cashier and said VERY LOUDLY "Well anyone that doesnt use Qs in this economic time is a DAMN FOO!"
As for a store accepting another store's Qs, any store that wants your business bad enough will take them.
At my local stores, word has gotten around that I am one of the customers that will call in and give cashiers nice compliments when they are nice, which is rare, as people are more likely to call in a complaint.

I only have a problem when they are not in color. Because apparently everyone on the planet has a color printer. We had to dig ours out of the back of a closet to print coupons, just for Wal-Mart. Target will accept any coupons, color or not, as far as I have seen. I also got completely humiliated by a cashier who accused me of making the coupons online. Yeah, because I can print out bar codes that work at Wal-Mart.

Today at Walmart I got hell for using 2 of the sames coupons...even thought I was purchasing 2 of the same items (one coupon for each).
I have used tons of coupons before and some the same and never had an issue.
I just smiled and said okay, let her take the item off my total, and had her ring me up again. All the drama and she did another transaction for me. Why do they make thier jobs more complicated than it needs to be?
I just wish Walmart would get on the same page so its not a guessing game everytime we pull up to pay.

She probably didn't want to catch hell from an @ss of a manager as some of them are. The only problem I've ever had in two years of using printable coupons is one wouldn't scan and she wouldn't take it which is their policy so I was fine with that. sometimes that scanner on the "counter" doesn't scan them well so if that happens ask them to scan it with the hand scanner if they don't already know enough to.

I recently lost my job, last night I spent two hours shoppong in Wal-Mart. I just had ACL knee surgery so it took me some time to do my shopping. I had about 20 internet coupons and 15 from the newspaper. The cashier seemed new, she asked an associate if they took internet coupons. She told her yes. I had by one get one free coupons for sobe water and some ALPO cans. She asked an assistant manager how to fill out the coupon, he told her Walmart didn't accept internet coupons. My bill prior to all the coupons was $158.00. I had to leave all my bagged groceries in the cart without paying. The manager was surprised I didn't go ahead and purchase the items. Right now I can't affoard to not use coupons. When I do get another job, I will continue using coupons but due to this will shop at other stores OTHER than Walmart.
On my way home from Walmart I called the store and spoke to a manager. I explained that I had all my groceries bagged in cart but was told they didn't accept internet coupons and left the store. I wanted to know the store's policy on internet coupons. She stated they took them as long as they were scannable, date valid, etc. I asked her if she could correc the assistant manager, she didn't seem concerned or offer assistance. I had just left the store and she knew that. She could have offered to have me come back and purchase the items in the cart.
Walmart doesnt care and I don't have much financial influence to prevent this from occuring but I will refraim from using their store in the future.

How many of the same Qs were you trying to use in that transaction. For some reason, they freak out if you use more then 2-3 of the same Q and more then about 10 Qs in the who transaction. If that happens again, just buy 1 of each item and tell them they can waste money paying someone else to put the rest back on the shelves, which they won't like to hear.

Have you considered calling or writing in to corporate? Maybe after speaking with the district and/or store manager they will be more IPQ friendly. Something must have gone down at one of my local stores cause now they very willingly take IPQs as long as they scan and you bought the right item. I never use more then 2 or 3 of the same Q and never more then 8-10 Qs in one transaction. Always spoon feed the Qs to the cashier else they might get overwhelmed and flustered, then end up not scanning all of your Qs. Also, I never leave the store without checking my receipt first!
Do they understand that if you walk out and leave all your groceries there that they are losing money in multiple ways?! First, they are losing a sale for the day, which could mean they might not reach their projected goal over last years sales for that same day, especially in these hard economic times. Second, they are wasting payroll hours for ringing up and bagging the transaction for nothing. Third, they will have to waste payroll hours to pay multiple people to put back the items on the shelves.
The last time I shopped Walmart, the cashier informed me that Walmart had stopped taking internet coupons. I finally emailed their customer service because I found it strange that they would give us coupons on their site. Why give your customers online coupons then send them to the competition to shop?
I received the following answer today, Aug. 26, 2009:
Wal-Mart Stores can accept coupons that are available on the internet for customers to print from their home computers. The following are guidelines for the stores for accepting internet coupons: - The coupon should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon". There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer, to ensure the coupon can be processed for payment.- The coupon should have a scan-able bar code.- The coupon should have an expiration date.- The coupon cannot be a photocopy.- The limit is one coupon per item, per Customer.- A Salaried Manager can refuse to accept a coupon if it does not meet any or all of these guidelines.
Sincerely,Walmart Customer Care
Even though I don't like the one coupon limit, since most sites allow us to print two, I am glad that I have an answer. I hope this helps.

Ok so I am a cashier at Walmart in the Hampton VA area... Ok let me start off by saying I really HATE my job, however I am one of the nicest cashiers you'll find... I am constantly being told at my store by customers that I am one of the very few that even smiles. So I worked tonight and went shopping when I got off.... long day already.... had my INTERNET coupons, that i always take from customers without any hassle at all.... I get online with a cashier that I do not know.... i don't pick who I go to, I just get on a line and do what I have too... I have 3 - $2.00 off coupons when you buy 3 packs of coke...thus I had 9 packs.... Cashier rings up all the soda's... I give her my INTERNET coupons, well you would think that I was robbing her at gunpoint.... she said to me... "these are fake"... I said "Excuse Me?" she replied "these are not real, they are copies, so I cannot take them. I told her "are you serious?" ....She said "yes, I cannot take these, do you still want your soda's?" I said "Yes I do, I would also like you to get our manager over here" So the manager comes over and she tells him that she is refusing to take my internet coupons that I PRINTED out myself because she has been written up before for taking false or copied coupons.... he said "wow thats a bad copy" I yelled out loud "It's not a F#*$*$ing COPY" I printed these out on the internet.... He said "go ahead and take them" she still refused unless he signed the back of the coupons..... Mind you ever single cashier in the place was staring at me..... I am so F#**$&ing MAD right now.... So don't think you are alone as a customer.... It really sucks....

That manager obviousely isn't very bright. If you buy 5 items and have 5 coupons for the items (1 coupon per item), they should take it. They obviousely can't take 2 coupons for 1 item, etc.
What I would have done in that situation is bought 1 item with 1 coupon, go through the same line again with another one of the same item and bought that using another coupon and just continued that till you bought all 5 items with your 5 coupons. That's basically what they were telling you you had to do which is absurd. So I would show their absurdity by being absurd myself.

I don't use these kind of non-uniquely-pin-coded IPQ's for this reason right here.
At least with the uniquely-pin-coded IPQ's you can prove they are authentic.
SCO gone from my store-ugh!!!!
That seems to be consistent with the new store model...SCO's are being removed from many of them
That can't be. We just got a complete store remodel and they added them in during it. (I hate those things right now anyway since nothing seems to scan without a cashiers help)
There are several stores within my area and the closest one that was just recently remodeled, practically overnight, replaced the ACO's with mini cashier operated CO's.

I haven't seen anywhere here about this: I have a coupon from CVS for new or transferred Rx and I get a $25 Gift Card. Wal-Mart Rx Manager and Corp. told me that they don't take these. Is this true? Didn't see anywhere on the Wal-Mart store policy about this.

Just thought I'd share that I just got an email from Walmart asking for clarification of the "store coupons" section and posted their response on my blog. You are welcome to link to it if you'd like.
I also have a list of other store policies (for stores here in my area, you are welcome to add others to the list)

My store is being remodeled. When they first started they took the SCOs out (it was the only one in the area that still had them). However, as a nice surprise today they were back! I'm not sure why since they haven't even touched the front of the store. However, as per my previous rant...I still had a cashier come over and decide to play coupon nazi and scan/check them anyway. Looks like it's 2am shopping for me! Anyway, have hope, maybe they'll be sick of having to staff more (or whyever they did it) at your store, too!

Two of my semi-local 3 stores have SCO's. The slower of the 3 stores is newer and usually has at least 4 of the 6 SCO's open and only 1-3 staffed check outs. I guess SWM is hoping that people with just a few things will use the SCO's so they don't have to staff more cashiers.

This is what happen to me last Friday night at my Wally World
I went to the Wal-Mart (Store #1557 Fishers, IN 46038) on the NE side of Indianapolis (September 25, 2009 about 11 PM) and the cashier was questioning if I could use $1 coupon off a $1 Klondike Bar. I very politely said sure you can as they are legit coupons. She took my nine $1 coupons all with different serial numbers to a supervisor. I again explained to them they are legit coupons and per WalMart.com's policy, they will take Internet coupons because mine are not copies and have different serial numbers.
The supervisor called over the front end supervisor (Yaser) and he started arguing with me he can't take $1 off a $1 item, that they look like copies and if it was only two or three coupons he would say ok. I kept trying to explain to him that yes they will take them per WalMart.com’s policy and what was the difference between two or three versus the nine coupons I had. I also explained to him that I’m not doing anything wrong, they are not copies, they all have different serial numbers, and how it states in clear English on the coupon they get reimbursed full face value plus a handling fee. Then the front end supervisor (Yaser) started making some racist comments to me and threw my coupons down.
He went over to another supervisor (Catherine) who came over to me wanting to know what was going on. I said don’t you already know since the front end manager told you? I only had to explain the legitimacy of these coupons to yet another supervisor. She kept saying it’s a legal thing and they can’t give me stuff for free. So I asked what about the coupons that say “free item” and she said that’s different. She kept arguing the fact how she couldn’t take my coupons so I demanded her manager and they pull up WalMart.com's policy. She said she couldn’t do it and all the other managers went home. Next Catherine threatened to void my entire transaction which not only included the Klondike Bars but also Snapple Tea and Dish Soap. Then she said she would take five coupons this one time only and never again!! I said no, that’s not acceptable because you’re wasting my time and treating me like I’m doing something wrong especially after Yaser insulted me with racist comments. I told her I’m filling complaints again both her and the other manager for the way they treated me. After another 5 minutes of arguing with her she said she would let me use all the coupons this time only. I told her it’s not my fault they don’t cost $1.01 and asked her if they would have given me all this trouble if that was the case. She said no because then they aren’t free.
Was all this trouble worth it? Hell No… but I was already in the checkout lane with all my goods bagged up and there is no way I was walking out with anything less than what I purchased. I’ve used coupons several times at this Wal-Mart in the past. I don’t know what they deal was tonight. From now on, I’m only buying loss leaders there..
Sorry for the rant but I want others to be prepared for any trouble them may get at Wally World.
Any advice on how to handle the situation differently next time?
Thanks

Just complain to Corporate. Write letter to upper management too document call to corporate. Most important, mentioned racist comment to upper management.
Here is Senior Management List: (http://walmartstores.com/Investors/7823.aspx)
It probably a good time to acknowledge upper management about people negative experience trying to save money with coupons at Walmart Stores.

Walmart gets trucks in with new stock every day. Stock is unloaded around 9-10PM.
per WalMart.com's policy, they will take Internet coupons because mine are not copies and have different serial numbers.
Not that they "will", but they "can". A store manager can refuse any customer for any reason. Walmart doesn't HAVE to take your coupons.
Per the coupon policy, you are actually wrong:
http://walmartstores.com/7655.aspx
Only one coupon per item is permitted.
You were allowed to use *1* coupon for *1* bar. Not 6 coupons for 6.

You were allowed to use *1* coupon for *1* bar. Not 6 coupons for 6.
according to the link you posted, though, it does say one Q per item:
"Only one coupon per item is permitted", limit of 40 per transaction w/o approval. so as long as you have a Q for each item, you should be fine according to WalMart's own guidelines. Obviously, no double dipping, but one Q per item is not doing that.

I guess you interpret "item" differently than I do.
You see 6 Special K bars (for example) as 6 items.
I see 6 Special K bars as 6 of 1 item. So 1 coupon for 6.

Today I had around 20 different IPQ's, but the total of those were well over $40 and required a CSM turnkey.

There is such a simple solution to the problem of wal mart. DONT GO. I stopped going about 2 yrs ago when I bought a six pack of beer and after they carded me they asked for my wifes id also. She didn't bring it because i drove. They refused to sell me the beer because i could be buying it for my wife (over 30 yo). The funny thing was the guy in front of me bought beer and had his 16 yo son with him, but thats ok because its his son, though they had no proof. I asked to speak to manager and instead of getting the manager they got security. Seiously i didn't raise my voice or anything (until security came). Since that day I have never set foot in another wal mart and never will. If they have a great price just price match to somewhere else. Its sad that a company can have such HORRIBLE customer service and ppl still go there.

I work for a company similar to Walmart. Cutting and pasting coupons, changing expiration dates and any altering to coupons IS ILLEGAL AND PUNISHABLE BY LAW!!!!!!!!
Prices go up because people like you have to scam!!! Find legitimate coupons and use them. You can go to a companys e-mail location and there's usually coupons available, or you can be on the company's mailing list.
When you hand a cashier a coupon that is outdated, it will scan. The store looses $ everytime someone hands an expired coupon (to bad cashiers don't learn their jobs better). Coupon fraud is a huge reason why prices inflate. The manufacturers DON"T reimburst expired coupons.
You should suggest having a "coupon exchange" at work and arrange it in the company break room (if you work). You can get alot of coupons that way!!!!
Stop scamming!!!! It cost those of us that work alot of $$$$$.

I posted this in the lounge in the wee hours of the morning last night, but felt that I should have posted it in the coupon section. I look and did not see anything about this being posted,so if its a repost,sry....
I know some people have had problems using internet coupons at Wal-Mart. Well they do take them.
This should solve any problems that you may have had at the checkouts in the past. Copy, paste and print this out and next time you go to Wal-Mart take this with you...Good Luck!

All stores have the right to stop taking internet coupons at any time. Usually we stop b/c of coupon fraud. Every month we get a list of fraudulant internet coupons. The more we get, the less we take!

Why did you feel the need to go on this tirade? This thread is about using legitimate unexpired internet coupons at Walmart, not scamming them with expired or fraudulent coupons. We want to use our legal internet coupons at the retailers we visit often, not scam them out of money. Maybe you should pay attention to what people are saying before you go off on something completely different

Exactly, you have on instantaneous of coupon fraud as in using recently expire coupon or getting list of fraudulent coupon. Employees hears about it and employees start making false assumption of coupon user. They see some customer of $50.00 and After Coupon of $5.00 and automatically think it coupon fraud. Employees tell tall tale, lies, exaggeration and false assumptions about anyone using coupons with 99% of them legitimate.
I know someone who works for Walmart. She tells me about some employees just make up false assumptions and lies about coupon users. Employee spread the false stories and it grows bigger and bigger. Or you find 1% a fraudulent coupon usage and employees link to terrorist or something. As the stories grow, you start having hard working employees being trained with false stores and misconceptions.

According to industry trade magazine, coupon fraud is not a big issues as some retail employees as other issues cost retailers profits. Here is top 5:
Damage or misplaced product or mis-stocked product.
Irreplaceable return products. Basically, retailer has to eat products being return because manufacturer does reimburse or replace product or unsold at a markdown.
Unsold products that can't be markdown at discount
Shoplifting (External Loss)
Internal Theft --> For some retailers, the biggest lost factor. Employees steal products, mis-price items on purpose to be sold as markdown, hide expensive product in cheap items, and throw stuff in the trash bin to name a few.

I brought a 4 free pack of monster energy drinks internet coupon to Walmart awhile back. It didn't scan obviously and I asked for help from one of their self checkout helpers. She looked at the code and asked me where i got it, i explained how and took it off my bill for me. Used multiple coupons on different occasions, was awesome :D

You probably don't read this board because you only posted twice, but, dude, chill out a bit. 95+% of the users on SD only advocate using coupons and making purchases in legal ways. Why even bother scamming? There are tons of coupons to be had and plenty of deals at stores, which is what this site is all about.
I haven't spent more than $200 in Walmart in the past 5 years... many of the large grocery store chains in the US treat customers much better and handle coupons better.
BTW, I can't believe a cashier would give someone trouble over using a $1 coupon on a $1 item. Especially those Klondike coupons, which I could have gotten about 20 of without even trying too hard. If cashiers don't take coupons per store policy, they can just say "sorry" and be nice about it, but they also ought to follow the policy, which most certainly does not say that you can't get an item for free after coupon, at WalMart or anywhere else that I know of. it's a MANUFACTURER coupon. If you're worried about fraud, just limit customers to using 4 of any particular coupon at a time. I just used 4 of the same IP coupon tonight to get some free tuna. If they allowed me to use more per store policy, I would have done so.
Who would waste their time and effort printing fraudulent $1 coupons anyway? If you're going to risk being prosecuted for fraud, at least aim a little bit higher than that :)
One more thing - some coupons say things like "non-transferable" or "void if transferred." If you do coupon exchanges with those and then someone uses them you are probably breaking the law. Be careful - you may be taking jobs and money away from Walmart employees.

walmart is a million dollar company, if it losses one or two dollars a day its never going to hurt them, just think about some of the items they have on sale, they are ripping us off. its like making the rich richer and the poor poorer, walmart is rich if we give some to the poor it wouldn't hurt them, its like pocket change for them, dont be so hard on people how are trying to put food on the table for their families especially in a time like this.
next time someone says you can't use a MQ to get an item for free, tell them to contact the M of the Q about that. IF a policy is written and posted on a public website that is foreseeable by all it has to followed otherwise thats considered false representation of their policy and guidelines. i've read many online complains about walmart MQs and printed MQ its not even funny. majority of the time contacting corporate will do the trick. or just dont give Walmart your business, tell them you are taking yourself and your printed Q to Target where they appreciate you more, lets see how far they'll go to kiss your a@@. i've had times where i've stopped shopping at Target and went to Walmart and i've had times where i've stop shopping at walmart and went to target. switch it up and maybe when you go back they'll have more educated people working there. just bc one person does something illegal, like copies coupons other shouldn't pay a price for that, its not fair and they would loss customers if they act that way each time.

To add to your point:
Walmart lose $$$ from customers going elsewhere.
They lose money when people complain to corporate. Corporate has to take the time to contact DM and/or Manager. Manager and/or DM has to take the time to contact customer. DM and/or Mgr has more productive things to do than deal with complaint in which their employees don't follow or understand policy. They lose money from hostile, unfriendly, rude, obnoxious and/or discriminatory employees.
Here is a great book to read for you retail employee guest and lurkers:

Customer sharing their grievances can hit more than 3,000 people alone on the internet especially on sites like SD, FW, Grocery Game, etc.
How much $$$ and business will be lost from unfriendly cashier and supervisor?

This is a coupon story about Sams Club so I figured I would share it with you all.
I went into a Sams Club a couple of months ago with a coupon for one free day of membership. It was an older coupon but still valid and had not expired, the manager at the front took it and said it was not valid and refused to give it back. This really infuriated me that they took it away from me and walked away with coupon. Needless to say I left my purchase at the register and walked out. It was the first time in several years that I had gone there to shop and will be the last time I set foot in a Sams Club.

so if you have a MQ for 55 cents and the item is only 50 cents, do they have the right to adjust your MQ down to 55 cents and charge you tax?

This is a coupon story about Sams Club so I figured I would share it with you all.
I went into a Sams Club a couple of months ago with a coupon for one free day of membership. It was an older coupon but still valid and had not expired, the manager at the front took it and said it was not valid and refused to give it back. This really infuriated me that they took it away from me and walked away with coupon. Needless to say I left my purchase at the register and walked out. It was the first time in several years that I had gone there to shop and will be the last time I set foot in a Sams Club.
sam's club is run by walmart right??? we just got a supercenter and next door is sam's club but we've never shopped there, i'm not looking forward to shopping there now.
I recently watched a show on 20/20 or dateline about wholesale club type stores. Basically it came down to people think they are saving money, but unless you buy a HUGE amount you aren't saving anything, as you have to first recoop the membership fee before you actually start saving.
so if you have a MQ for 55 cents and the item is only 50 cents, do they have the right to adjust your MQ down to 55 cents and charge you tax?
I take it that you live in an area where everything (including food) is taxed.
Lately I've noticed that most cashiers will just push a Q through then they are prompted if the amount is correct. Which is the way it should be as the store is reimbursed the amount on the Q.

The lady at walmart at first didn't accept my MQ giving me all these nonsense reaons. After i asked to have the manager come, then she finally accepted it, but she punched in as 50 cents off instead of the full face value of the MQ. I don't think that's right since they will get reimbursed full value.. but i guess you can't complain on that huh?

True, it is not right that they only give you value of the items, but turn around and get reimbursed the full value of the Q. Stand your ground with your valid Q's and don't let cashier make up their own rules.
I have several SWM stores in my area. The closest one is a Q nazi store because of the SM and book keeper (they have final say as they are responsible for the store's financial records [books]). They have the cashiers (mainly the older ladies that are always working) scared out of their whits about being fired over coupons! Thus, I rarely go to this store. Who wants to listen to a cashier bitch and moan and groan about how IPQ's are 'fraud' and 'should be illegal.' PFFT!!! I almost told one older lady cashier to 'STFU - I'm here to shop, not listen to you bitch!'
The next store is 4 miles up the street (8 miles round trip). This store is not exactly next to a major road so it's not as busy as the others are. It seems to have a more welcoming environment. The employees are helpful and laid back (one even told me that is the store's atmosphere). The other day I was going down the backside aisle and I guess I had a 'looking for something' look on my face and one of the employees asked me if I needed help finding something. Turns out, I think that was the SM that offered to help find something! They are Q friendly and will do what it takes to make a Q work, even if that means manually keying it in. Apparently they want the sales!
Another store is about 5 miles away (10 miles round trip). When I go to this store I stop at other stores on the way there and back. This store is much busier. They have been fairly Q friendly so far. Recently I did have a cashier ask a manager about the IPQ's, as the cashier and manager both pointed out the 'one per purchase' on the Q's. I said fine, ring each one up separately and we can spend an hour on this and tie up the lane. Manager told the cashier to accept all the Q's in one order. Naturally I thanked the manager.

Wal-Mart is probably the fiercest anti-union company in the US, and even the slightest hint of an effort by workers to form a union is enough to warrant a call to the company’s 24-hour hotline and a visit from their anti-union ‘Rapid Response’ team.
Nothing stands before Wal-Mart’s profits, not even the safety of its customers. Wal-Mart parking lots have been the scene of hundreds of crimes including murders and rapes, but Wal-Mart has refused to hire security guards to monitor their lots because it would cut into their profits.
Wal-Mart also shows nearly complete disregard for the environment. Like many other corporations, Wal-Mart often finds it more profitable to pay millions of dollars in fines for environmental damage and continue polluting, while also lobbying politicians to abolish environmental regulations.
Don't feel bad for Wal-Mart.

There was a Wal-Mart in Canada who manage to form a Union. Wal-mart just closed the doors and fired most of the employees.
Today, the Walmart store still remains empty with the Canadian equivalent of state government keeping the building maintain and clean. It has been over 10+ years, maybe even 15+ years.

Target is the same way. I've heard of employees getting pulled in the HR office and basically told to stop talking 'union talk' to other employees.
If a big box store wants you gone, they will find something to terminate you over.
They do this cause they don't want to lose control over the employees.

as a previous empolyee for Sam's Club, im intrigued at this. we regularly have one day passes that are out in Sam'sClub mailers, but you cant use them at the register, you must go to Customer Service, and redeem the coupon for a one day pass (complete with temp. member number the cashier MUST punch in before ringing up). Since these are regular coupons, expired or not, Cust. service would be (and SHOULD be) happy to oblige. these temp memberships, are, most of the time, readily available. In which case, the manager handled the situation poorly. Im not sure from your post if you were at Cust. service OR a register, but either way, management should have come and expalined the situation to you better, and manually put in a temp number on the register, and rang you up regulrly, WITHOUT adding the 10% charge to your order, which is added if you use the coupon for day membership, and you do NOT want to buy a yearly membership card.
Also, Re: membership. if at anytime you feel the money you are saving isnt enough to justify the $40/year membership. stop by Customer Service, and let them know. you will be refunded your membership promptly.

Hum, this is interesting, especially if the $40/year membership isn't pro-rated. Essentially you could sign up and use it for 11 months and then get your membership refunded.
The thing about these club type stores is that you have to buy a *LOT* to first re-coop your membership cost and then actually start saving money.
I'm sure there are hugs families that have one membership and then family members take turns going shopping with the family member who has the membership.
Make sure you are a well informed shopper before you start buying in bulk and thinking you are saving that way cause that isn't always the case.

Which IPQ's and did each one have a different pin code?
If you use an ink jet printer it could be at fault. They don't print as clear as laser printers do when it comes to UPC bar codes.

Thus far, I haven't had an issue with WM taking coupons. I save about a third of what I'm spending, each time I go, using coupons--most of them from the 'net. I don't bother with the .pdfs or scans that people post--I'm too old to be embarrassed by getting caught using a coupon that is known to be fraudulent.
I have been using the retailers' sites and their emails; smartsource; couponbug; mypoints, etc.
I have noticed, though, the last few times, the cashiers have asked me where I got my coupons from--not being accusatory to me but more out of curiousity. The $5 Hasbro coupon, the $3/Olay moisturizer, even the $1.60/Nature Valley--all are unusually high-value coupons.
I almost always say smartsource because I just don't remember unless I'm looking at the coupon.

This should solve any problems that you may have had at the checkouts in the past. Copy, paste and print this out and next time you go to Wal-Mart take this with you...Good Luck!

Walmart will accept best buy's coupons if they are within the local area. I have spent a couple of months getting the local Walmarts to learn and adhere to their coupon and price matching policies and finally things are going well. I have a series on Walmart along with their emails to and from me which spell out specifics on what to do if they won't abide by their policy on my family blog. (Read from the bottom up on this page)

Something else I've noticed lately--dunno if it's just ignorance, coincidence, or by design, though:
I visit WM about three times a week. I'm out of work atm, so I have time to do this. I have mastered the art of buying meat/poultry/bakery on sale LOL I cover the sale and clearance stuff and am out of the store within a half hour.
ANYWAY--the cashiers are NOT taking my coupons off at the end, unless I remind them. Like I said, no clue if this is by design, or coincidence, but I am vigilant about remembering to remind them now, but this has occurred for the better part of the last month.

I am hesitant to give out uniquely coded IPQ's to people other then immediate family and very close friends. The reason is that they are uniquely coded and if you give someone these coupons, what is to stop them from photo copying and using them. Then guess who gets into trouble, as the uniquely coded IPQ's can be traced back to you. Not everyone's ethic morals are the same.
Like wise, the people who print out the uniquely coded IPQ's and then sell them online take a chance of customers photo copying the uniquely coded IPQ's. (They say you pay for their time and materials, not the actual uniquely coded IPQ, so that they can do this legally.) To customers defense, what is to say that the people who sell the uniquely coded IPQ's aren't photocopying them themselves and then sending copies to different people. I remember one of the sellers getting busted for this a while back.
This is an example of what ruins it for the people who use legitimate uniquely coded IPQ's, as the stores don't get credited for the copied IPQ's and eventually stop taking them. If you don't think people are photo copying the uniquely coded IPQ's, THINK AGAIN, as there are some sleazy scammers out there!

what the hell is wrong with walmart????????
I go in the other day to price match a game for dd that walmarts sale price is 15 normalls 20 and toys rus sale price is $10.19.
I could eithe rprice match or drive 30 min to save five bucks. (and i had a 5.48 gc)
Well i had dd and sis n law with me and she took dd off so she couldnt see what i was buying so i had candy land and 5 little monkeys game (CL was 5 at walmart and 3.99 toys rus)
So i go to electronics to check out since i was closest to there and as soon as i said the word price match she got all pissy and said i need your ad then i said i dont have the ad i view the ads for here, toys rus and target online since we dont get the newspaper. I said i have the phone number and everything wrote down here if you want that. She said no and raised her voice at me like she was superior to me and so much better when all she was, was a woman who probably would have done it for her friends.
So then i got to a front register and the lady scans them and i say i need to price match those and tell her toys rus price she said she needed the ad..I then told her "maam i just went through this in electrontics if you dont want to do it either please just call your manager up here." After i said that she rang them up and i got both games for 10.00 after my 5.48 gc.
She said i will do it this one but next time bring your ad i said well i wont have one next time either! I then asked "i find it strange if i have a huge buggy full of groceries when i do my shopping on saturdays and i start pricing matching all kinds of stuff you all dont look at hte ads nor do you ask me for my ads, that hardly seems fair"
I told her its not like im lieing if you dont believe me you can call the store.
So after that i went to customer service and asked for the manager. I told him what happened how rude the bitch in the back was..as well as the one up front. I told them target has never treated me that way nor questioned me. Especially if i have the phone number down and everything. I also told him next time i will drive the 30 min to save a couple bucks its worth it to me to support a much more friendly company then this one.
I told him how sorry his workers are none of them stop and ask if you need help, your always having to wait on someone for help. Target has 30 seconds or so to get to that red phone you picked up for help i never have problems with them.
He told me he was sorry about the ad thing and will talk to his workers and told me i atleast need to have there phone number ready so they can call....AGAIN I HAD THE NUMBER ALONG WITH THE PRICES OF EVERYTHING WROTE DOWN no one wanted to fool with me they would rather argue...

Reminds me of why I HATED working at wal mart. The store policy on price matching was we had to match a local ad on the exact same item. People would constantly get bent out of shape when we had to go to a wall of ads, and look for the items one by one. Then things like meat that were specifically store branded we were supposed to reject the price match on. Then the interface in the computer was a huge pain to use. Then if it was over a certain amount of money discount a manager had to key an approval password into the computer. Is it any wonder these people are annoyed at you? All this and walmart gives raises based on IPH (items checked out per hour) rate. So because the whole transaction could take 15-20 mins, our IPH rare would get docked and we could lose out on our raise. Most of the people at Wal Mart make min wage.
The next time you think of giving WM employees attitude or a hard time consider what a huge inconvience it is to them. They are not acting that way because they think they are better then you at all, they are probably upset because it negatively impacts them.
Also the person all the way back in electronics, it is probably even more inconvenient to walk to the front of the store to look at the circuliars near the entrace.

If you are wanting to know how to use a (competitor's) $25 giftcard coupon at W, then you take it to the RX when you have your prescription filled. Make sure they will honor it BEFORE you get the prescription filled there. Maybe have the pharmacist initial and date the coupon.

This is not correct; all wm stores have to abide by corp policy, and corp policy states that they accept ipq's, unless they are known as fraudulent, there's a list somewhere online.

I wish I knew where she lived, I'd mail her a copy!!! Thanks so very much for sharing, I too will share this information. :O
Did she still buy everything or walk out and leave it?

My experience with Wal Mart matching GC coupon - brought the scripts, coupon AND printed out WM policy - pharmacy would not honor the coupon - said it was a "Gimmick" promotion. I called corporate, who turned it over to the pharmacy district manager, who turned it over to the SAME pharmacist who wouldn't do the match!
Their pharmacy sucks, too. Took forever to get scripts filled. I won't go back.

W is like that - pass the buck off to the next - screw the customer.
Keep this in mind when you purchase bigger items.

I hate my Walmart because for some reason they are not able to scan the coupon.

If you are using a cheap ink-jet printer, try printing in draft mode, as it will use less ink and the bar code lines won't smudge or run together.
Like I said, no clue if this is by design, or coincidence, but I am vigilant about remembering to remind them now, but this has occurred for the better part of the last month.
treat your coupons like cash. DO NOT HAND THEM OVER until everything is rung up. at that point hand them over 1 at a time or in like groups at a time, I find it helpful to say "3 of this coupon, 2 of that one...." and watch to make sure they get them all!
manu coupons are legally considered an "alternate form of payment" just like checks, credit cards, debit cards, cash, etc. You must maintain control of them or I guarnatee you will get screwed at least 50% of the time

I concur!
Hand them a few at a time especially IP coupons. Make sure the IP coupons are not sticking together. Also pay attention, IP coupons stick together. They may miss one coupon before sticking into the coupon slot or coupon bag or coupon container.

You're the reason why people want to stop doing any kind of customer service. Yea those people can be replaced easily but more likely they will be replaced with people who will equally despise you. You think your standing up to walmart story is great? Think again, this is the inner makings of trashy people who decide to go to walmart to make scenes. Most places that price match require a damn ad so too bad. I hope they keep denying you until you bring a stupid ad.
I agree! If it on the Internet! Print it out! Print out Screen Shot!
Whenever you do a Price match at WM! Always make it as easy as possible for them by bring the advertisement or a printout. Most will match it without a problem.
Personally the only problem I had is limiting the quantity on 69˘ soda to 4. Not an issue! If you worry about the cost of the print out, go to your local library. Most library give you first 5 or 10 print for free or pay 15˘ or 10˘ a page!

It's a huge turn-off when people start to cry the blues. People tend to back away from such performances.
