I posted this in the lounge in the wee hours of the morning last night, but felt that I should have posted it in the coupon section. I look and did not see anything about this being posted,so if its a repost,sry....

I know some people have had problems using internet coupons at Wal-Mart. Well they do take them.

This should solve any problems that you may have had at the checkouts in the past. Copy, paste and print this out and next time you go to Wal-Mart take this with you...Good Luck!

Wal-Mart Coupon Policy

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):

Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
Store coupons
Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
Internet coupons
Soft drink container caps

The following are guidelines and limits:

Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code. Only one coupon per item is permitted.
Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

Here's an updated link since the above one doesn't work.
http://walmartstores.com/7655.aspx
SUGGESTION: I keep the printed policy in my purse and it's helped me several times. However, it printed out with the date I printed it on the bottom, which was about 2 months ago. When I had to show it to a cashier this week who wouldn't take my coupons, her response was that "maybe WalMart policy has changed since you printed this". So, make sure your copy has a recent date, or tear the bottom 1/2 inch off the page. HTH

Yesterday I was told at my regular Walmarts that they would not accept my interent coupons because they had no colot in them. My printer had run out of color ink. Really made me mad as the cashier seem to be saying that I was making these up at home. I had no problem with them at Price Chopper though.

My local Walmart stopped taking internet coupons way over a year ago. When I objected and said they had always taken them, the girl said they stopped and she called the store manager over and he said absolutely "no". Maybe I will try fighting this the next time I have a really good coupon.

Thanks for the post!

Thanks much! I've been so mad at my WalMart since they started putting up a fuss about internet coupons about a year ago, then stopped taking them all together about 6 months ago. I took the policy with me today along with about 5 internet coupons, and wouldn't ya know, the young teen guy cashier just took them no problem! Oh well, I keep the policy on me anyway!

ive had this printed out and kept in my purse for some months now. at one point i got into (yet another) squabble with the cashier at walmart and i told them i had the proof that walmart DOES take IP coupons...they would NOT even look at the paper! even the manager! then the next time i went, they took IP coupons but wouldnt let me use "free item" coupons...that was the last time i shopped there. im sick of walmart. i'll go to kroger--at least they double coupons up to $1...i only went to walmart to grocery shop anyway so now i dont have to drive as far and kroger NEVER gives me any hassles on ANY coupons, EVER. im totally done with walmart.

Yeah that totally makes sense, I won't stress over .50, I'd much rather pay S&H on my Kelloggs.

It's not even the S&H that sucks. The shipping reason is a joke because you don't HAVE to pay for shipping at Amazon. Many other retailers as well.

The pricing doesn't make sense for you to buy the cereal online when you can find cereal on sale in so many different places at all times of the year.

I been using internet coupons at my wal-mart for a long time now until my last visit about a 4 days ago... that moron cashier acted so smart..and told me that she couldn't take my coupons because those were from internet... I don't know why in the world they are saying that...when venders like j&j and others making their coupons available on the net.... any way, thanks for the info...your post will come in handy when i go to that particular cashier..yeap i want to deal with her..not the others...so far all the others are nice.

everyone kept saying to go thru the self-checkout. well, i finally did (before i quit going to walmart) and i still had trouble...the coupons wouldnt scan and the cashier finally just did my order at the cashier kiosk thing that's near the self-checkout. she let me use them but it was still a big hassle because she was so slow about it and even paused during scanning my coupons to do someone else's whole order for them at the self-checkout!! i stood there like WTF! i was almost gonna be out the door and she couldnt finish my transaction? that walmart is full of morons anyway. i'm still sticking with kroger now. ive never had a problem with them. im sure theres some good walmarts out there, but not here! lol its too bad too because i really liked shopping there...until i got to the checkout.

No hassle.

That's what I do for $2.00 or less coupons. But at my Wal-Mart, if they're over $2.00 or if it's an overage (3.98 coupon, $4.00 coupon), it requires assistance anyway. They 'beep' like it's scanned the coupon, but they still require an employee override.

there are few sites...here is one... some of the product websites will let you print a coupon or two too.

went to walmart today and had a terrible time for while..but then everything got solved at the end.

went to my favorite cashier, it was a busy day for her ..so she forgot to scan most of my coupons ( worth about 27 bucks) ..i was so annoyed...went to my car..and loaded my stuff..then came back to the customer serive desk..and told them. They went back to that register..and got that coupon pack..and found all my coupons and refunded the money..what a day... i was stuck their with my 4 year old....

I never had problems at wallmart before with internet coupons. But today the cashier said they wont take internet coupons, I told her they do accdept them, she called over the manager, and he said no to, I said bullshit, you do accept them, he just looked at me like a dumb idiot. I said the hell with it and walked away pissed off with all my purchases sitting on the conveyor!

during one time when they wouldnt let me use about 4 BOGO coupons, i took all of those items out of my cart and starting handing them to her and saying "You have to put all of these back then" and the manager was standing there and just said "let her use them"...whats wrong with BOGO coupons?!! they were NOT internet printed! i had went thru about 5 minutes of talking with the cashier and manager asking what was wrong with the coupons before they finally accepted them. they never gave me any reasonable answer. before i quit shopping there, i would always tell them "im filing a complaint with the store then" and i would take down their names.
i hate being like that because i know its hard to work as a cashier and get 'bad' customers but its worse continuously being treated like a criminal or shopping thru the store, taking my time to get the exact sizes on the coupons and then get to the register and being told i cant use those coupons for whatever lame reason when i know i can.

I stopped going to my local H*LLMart long ago - it's just not worth the hassle. I tried to do the transfer prescription coupons, on both my husbands and my prescriptions - and they said only one per customer. Well, there were 2 customers - me and my DH. This was after they had already filled the prescriptions so I said to back them off my insurance, give me my old pill bottles back, I'm going elsewhere. Of course they could not give me the old bottles back, I went to CVS and they had to call Walmart to get the info, but it was the principle of the thing. I'll pay more elsewhere than deal with them.

Went to wally world last night... got

RUSSELL STOVER bag candy X8 @$2.50 each and I used 4 BOGO newspaper coupons ($10 total)
sure deodorant $1.98 and I used $3 off internet printable (actually got an overage) (-1.02 total)
2 bags of Puriena One cat food @$4.95 each using 2 $5 off internet printable coupons (got another overage) (-$0.10 total)

I picked up other stuff, but this is what I had coupons for.

all coupons went through with no problems... the register asked a few times if this was a valid coupon and the cashier just had to say yes...

Off topic a bit, but I was at Walmart the other day, and after I checked out and paid, I was glancing through the receipt and noticed the cashier scanned the Right Guard deodorant twice (maybe she thought I needed it ).

Anyway, I walked back and explained I had been charged twice. She apologized, and said I would need to go to the customer service desk to get a refund. I felt inconvenienced, but made my way to customer service. Then, I saw a line with 6 people in it. So, as I pondered whether or not it was worth standing in line for 20 minutes to get a $3 refund, I finally decided to get another Right Guard. Walked through the store, threw it in my bag, and walked out the door. Kinda felt like I was shop lifting or something, but I have to admit, I was angry enough, I was almost hoping someone would stop me and say something.

Walmart has a new shoplifting policy. If's it's under $25 they will only take a picture of you and let you go. So for 'stealing' a $3 deoterant, they prob thought it wasn't worth their time.

also...
when they put items in the wrong shelving space, you may be able to get a price break...

ex.
i bought a toy from wall mart that was apparantley marked for 4.98, and at the cashier, it rang up 21.98. had an associate went back to the section and found that they placed the more expensive toy (of the same name) in the wrong shelving space as the less expensive space. so i ended up buying the 21.98 toy for 4.98...

I work at Wal-Mart part time but I'm not a cashier thank goodness. Anyway if an associate tries to argue with you and you know 100% your right just break out your cell phone and call 1-800-WALMART right there. That will set there butts straight in a heartbeat. The manager will trip all over themselves to make you happy then. :swordfit:

I was publicy humilated in front of others at the CS Desk at Walmart and before I left the store I report it to the manager and also file a complaint with headquarters.

I wanted the employee fired, but you think they did that. Absolutely not!.

All I got from the manager was sry, and I hope that you will continue to shop at Wal Mart. Boy was I  as hell !!!!

I went through all levels of manager and they all gave me a bunch of BS. I also wrote a letter to the CEO Mr.Scott and still nothing, absolutely nothing.

Just out of curiosity I tried some of my coupons at Walmart tonight. I normally go to Target for the coupons but Walmart is only a block from home so it's much more convenient. I picked all of my items carefully to make sure I stayed within the coupon requirements but if I could "legally" get an overage I made sure to pick those items. When I got up front I picked a cashier I knew had worked there for a while so she'd know how to do the coupons but also one I knew has had a long time drug addiction and isn't the brightest bulb in the box. I told her up front that I had a bunch of coupons and she just asked if I had made sure I had the right items for each coupon. I told her yes, (just didn't mention that some were trial sizes!) and she scanned all of the coupons, even the internet ones, with no problems. If it asked if an amount was the right amount on the coupon she just hit a button and it accepted them. Total before coupons was $51.98, after coupon $16.48 because I bought several items that didn't have coupons.

I have to say though, even though using the coupons was nice and easy I will probably stick with Target for most of my trips. I've gotten spoiled with the clean store and much better selection. I couldn't find half of what I was looking for in Walmart although I did find some HUGE bottles of Pantene for $5 so used some of the $3 coupons on those.

It's not worth your time! I will not upset myself over a managers thought !!! I will just take my business elsewhere. I happen to find better quality (at the same price) if you just shop at the major chains anyway...that has been the end of many corporations ....Remember when Comp USA was the one and only??

I do like "window shopping" at Target. There are always long long lines at checkout. I can't remember how times I abandoned my stuff and walked out of Target. There are about 40 checkout counters but less than 10 are usually open. Why have so many checkout counters while they'll only open a few? I do not have check out problem at Walmart, never!

The getting charged wrong seems to happen a lot at least to me that is. And it's not just walmart. I always check receipt. Hubby knows to hand it straight to me soon as he pays to check it.

they need to becareful what they say... if she outright acuses you of fraud (creating coupons at home), that is harassment. Harassment is grounds for a lawsuit. Talk to a manager, and explain the seriousness of the situation. No CSM likes that thought. better yet...ask that specific cashier to call over a manager for you to talk about what she just said. That usually is an insta-quiet for the cashier. (or get the manager yourself, i am somewhat of a mean person!)

Had another great run at Walmart last night. $51.58 worth of merchandise for $2.58 OOP! No problems on any of my coupons except some Renuzit ones that were printed in English and French and wouldn't scan. The items were only $.94 so I told her not to worry about the coupons. She had me hand her the coupon for each item as she scanned it, said they had to be done at the same time or it wouldn't work. Worried me a little, I figured I'd end up having problems with the printed ones but I didn't. Even the printed $2/1 Recycled Super Sticky Post-It coupon worked and the item was not recycled, not super sticky, and only $.97! I hadn't planned on using any of those coupons since I had 5 $1/1 any post-its flags coupons from the paper but I accidentally grabbed 6 packs of the flags so I tried one of the printed coupons. Also used a couple of $4/1 Johnson's coupons on lotion trials that were $.97 and she deducted the whole $4.

I still hate the selection and dirtiness of Walmart and the fact that when I go, usually around 9pm, they have half the aisles blocked with stock so you can't get to some stuff but it sure beats driving clear across town when I need a quick coupon fix!

Wow, ya hit the walmart jackpot
Did she have to hand enter the Johnson's or did it scan on it's own?

My wm is so horrendous, I doubt they'll careless about a letter of the policy. Once I was at the self-checkout so I could use my IP cpns, but had to get the cashier for a bogo (the one cpn I had from newspaper), when she saw all the IP's I'd already scanned, she systematically voided every single one of them! So I had her void everything, turned right around w/ my cart & went over to the checkouts at the other side of the store & rescanned everything minus the bogo, ah, good times :lmao:

Had a bad experience today at Walmart. I don't usually shop there but since the Pampers are on sale I decided to go use my coupons there. Cashier was ok but as soon as the machine beeped because I had used to many coupons it/she called the CSM. After that all went downhill since the CSM, I guess that was her since she seemed unexperienced, called someone else and they scrutinized my coupons to the point they said I was using too many and could only use one of each per purchase=transaction. I told her I had used more than one at other Walmarts and she said "they let you get away with it but we are not". The one person in line went to another register so I told them to then ring me up seperately. The last woman called someone on the walkie and said I could not jump in and out of line to split my items...and I told them there was no one there ( I had decided to go in the morning since I know it gets hectic). Anyway, she said this was their policy which makes no sense but they didn't comprehend what I was telling them so I told them to give me my coupons and I was going to Target down the road where they don't care how many I use. The full cart was left there for them to put back. I then called corporate and told them the story and later today I had the asst manager of the store called me to apologize and she said she was going to dig more into it. I just hope they get some training. I only went because of their advertising of the rollback...and they got me in the door only to leave empty handed due to some untrained personnel. Thanks for letting me vent.

I worked as a cashier while I was going to college and it's not as easy to do as everyone seems. Especially when you get customers who look down on you for working there to begin with. That always got to me especially since I probably had more schooling than the people that came through my line.

On the coupons, a lot of times stores get ripped off a lot with people photocopying the coupons so some stores may not take them at all. One bad apple spoils the bunch you know. So when a customer comes in with an internet coupon especially one that's black and white and on flimsy paper of course the cashier doing what they are told to do probably wouldn't take it.

I used to tell customers that next time if it was possible to use a little bit heavier paper and colored ink and they won't have much problems since they look like coupons and the cashier will more likely override them more than they would with a black and white one on regular paper. That is not harrasment at all unless I flatly said You photocopied it. There is a difference between trying to help someone and falsely accusing them of something.

As far as trying to use all the coupons on one order a lot of times the register will reject them because you aren't suppose to use them that way. I used to tell customers I can take them but you have to buy for them seperately. Most people were cool with that some people got all huffy.

Also your attitude decides how a person handles your situation. If a cashier tells a customer hey I don't think I can take this and you get nasty and start yelling at them calling them stupid and YES YOU CAN and all this chances are they aren't going to do it. If you are nice about it chances are they will let you slide on that one.

Also it may help to find out the shift changes at your store. If you catch a cashier who just got on shift they are probably more likely to take your coupons and be nice about it rather than a cashier on the end of their shift who had a bunch of customers tick them off.

As far as the internet I know from experience they don't update them very much when it comes to the policy and they do change especially if the manager got memos to stop doing something and not all stores are the same. One store may have been given permission or told not to take coupons because of shrinkage that came with people ripping them off while others don't. We had an incident and one of our stores couldn't do refunds from stores from different locations stuff like that happens. It's not because they are all dumb and don't know how to do their jobs.

I am just overly nice to cashiers and service workers because I know it's hard. Even when I don't get my way I smile and say that's ok, I understand, thanks anyway and have a good day. They will remember me for being really nice and more likely to cut me a break next time. I always remember the people who were A. extra nice and B. the ones that were jerks. I always went out of my way for the extra nice one and the ones that were the biggest jerks got another treatment. I wouldn't risk getting written up for one of them. Just be a little nicer next time and understand it's not their fault they are just doing what they are told to do.

I used to be an avid Walmart shopper until the gerber deal at Target came so I shopped there more now. But the other day when I went to Target and couldn't use some of my internet manufacturer's coupons, I went to Walmart next to use them. The cashier was nice and took them all even when the register said I got too much he just called a manager to have them approved. They were all legit coupons by the way. I probably would just go to Target for Target coupons and Walmart for the manufacturers.

If you were unhappy with the transaction, you shouldn't have completed the purchase.
In actuality, you are not entitled to the overage, nor is the store.
They are well within rights to adjust the coupon value. They should write the adjusted amount on the coupon. You could mention that (or write the amount on the coupon yourself).

What would I do? I would allow them to adjust the price and not worry about it.
I don't worry about it when they give Me the overage (I bet you don't either), so why bother worrying about it when they adjust the coupon amount.

moral of the story.... don't sweat the small stuff. Just consider the 'overage' they're going to get this time, make up pay for some of the overages you got in the past. The post-its were still free.

Oh, let me tell yall about my Walmart experience yesterday.

I got to the register and the friendly cashier rang up my stuff. The total was like $127. OK, so I give her my stack of coupons. Some of them scan, some of them don't, but she's really nice and does an override for the ones that don't (let me say at this point that I had internet coupons as well as regular manufacturer coupons.).

Anyway, We get to the end of the coupons and my new total is $68. I swipe my debit card, cashier does her thing, and a message pops up on the little screen that says my coupons have exceeded the allowed amount. WTF?

So, a CSM gets called over. She is nice, and says she has never seen this before. She calls over another CSM. This one is not so nice and demands to know how many coupons I was using. It was 34. (Is that supposed to be a lot?) She proceeds to go through all my coupons and make sure I have the corresponding products, which I do. She is confused as well (and mad), and they call over a bigger CSM. He tells them to just override it and let me go.

Keep in mind this whole finasco has taken about 15 minutes. The not-so-nice CSM tells me that from now on I shouldn't use so many coupons at once. I told her, "I didn't know there was a coupon limit." The whole ordeal was just kind of ridiculous. The nice CSM told me that maybe from now on I should break up my stuff into two separate transactions. Let me just say, I can't wait til they're done building Target here!

I'm sorry, but why should it be up to the cashier's mood if they will accept your coupons or not? If you talk to a manger at any store that accepts coupons, they will tell you that they have a "coupon policy" and they expect their cashiers to abide by it. I'm sure stores would not be happy if they found out that some cashiers were rejecting coupons that they should have accepted, because the customer looked at them funny. Or letting copons that are against their policy slide because the customer was nice.

Although I know you meant well by your post, it just comes out making cashiers look even worse in my opinion.

Anyone else agree?

BTW, have any of you who had internet coupons rejected contacted Walmart headquarters? It might be worth it. If anything, the store manager will get in trouble for rejecting internet coupons and turning away customers, if that's not their corporate policy.

Also be aware that in at least some Walmarts if they have something priced on the shelf differently than it rings up, you get $3.00 off (or free if item is less than $3.00. I have only seen a sign explaining this in one Walmart but have gotten them to do it at several.

What? Very strange that the register/debit/credit machine said something after the transaction was rang up and during payment. I guess it was trying to stop you from checking out. That doesn't make any sense if you had the proper products in your cart, maybe it was a matter of to many coupons being put through that bleeped (Sometimes they still bleep even if you have the right products I have noticed). That makes me wonder as well if it was more your number of coupons then the amount the coupons took off your total. For sure many people have posted they have had total bills as high as yours to start and have reduced them to under $10 with coupons.

I don't shop at Walmart that often, but if I was to find out that my local Walmart did not take Internet coupons....next time I'd show up with half of my cart full of items that I had an internet coupon for. After scanning all of my items, I'd hand them my coupons. If they told me they don't accept internet coupons, I'd make them void everything in my cart I had a coupon for. Just to prove a point.

Then I'd email, call AND write Walmart headquarters with a complaint and let them know they just lost out on X amount of sales due to the fact they don't accept internet coupons. I'd attach a copy of my receipt which would show all of the voids.

I had a really funny one last night. My son needed a backpack so we went to Walmart. I had 3 of the $4 off Johnson's lotion coupons in my purse so I grabbed 3 trial size lotions and he got his backpack. She scanned all of the items and hit total. I handed her to coupons and she looked at them and said "no size listed?". I told her no but the item is less than the coupon. She read the coupon to make sure the size wasn't listed and when it wasn't she scanned them and deducted the full $4 for each one even though she knew the items were only $.97 each! So I got the lotions and the backpack for $10.

Considering the full size lotions are only $4 each to begin with, why didn't you just get those instead of the trial size? I mean I understand this ended up working out to your advantage, but you had no way of knowing she would give you $4 off for each coupon ahead of time.

It's possible that the cashier scanned some of the coupons multiples times, making the limit over 40. I accidentally double scanned some coupons when I worked at Walmart and they still took off the amount and everything unless they wasn't another of that product.

Just say you're going to walk out and not buy any of the stuff you brought to the register and most will change their mind. I never particularly cared when I worked at Walgreens. I certainly didn't screw the store I worked for, but I respected people who worked hard for good deals. If it was legit I took it, and it was always a pain to restock stuff people didn't buy, and to get a manager to cancel the purchase.

 I only shop at wal-mart when there is a deal ... like the $4 coupons for the J & J. After their "photo dept" refused to let me make copies of a 76 yr old picture of my dad. I explained that there was NO way i could get a "release" from the original photographer for the photo that the picture was taken in 1931. It was for my dads memorial cards he passed away at 96. They said NO way. They wouldnt even let me do other family photos.
So I dropped a few "f" bombs! and called corporate when i got home The lady said she was terribly sorry and just wait a few hours and try again. I returned to wal-mart 4 hrs later and "did the deed" No problem. The same clerk that hasselled me before even rang up my order.

pays to keep a pencil or pen and paper handy I had gotten all there names etc etc before I called corporate!

PS I've never had coupon problems at Wal-Mart, Now Target is a different story!

I must disagree, totally! I worked at Target while I was in high school and college, cashier was the easiest job in the store.

I mean really how hard is it?

Step 1: Pick up item
Step 2: Scan item
Step 3: Place item in bag
Repeat steps 1-3

Nothing even remotely difficult about being a cashier. If being a cashier was a difficult and challenging job stores would not be adding more and more self-check out lanes.

If my 90 year old grandmother who has never worked a day in her life, never touch a computer can figure out how to use the self check out by herself, I do not think we are asking to much for an employee who is a “trained” and paid to be a cashier to be able to do it quickly and easily.

If you think being a cashier is hard………boy not sure what job you would find easy.

I think she was referring to the "dealing with customers" as what made the job hard. Not the actual scanning and bagging of the items.

My local Walmart stopped taking internet coupons way over a year ago. When I objected and said they had always taken them, the girl said they stopped and she called the store manager over and he said absolutely "no". Maybe I will try fighting this the next time I have a really good coupon.

Thanks for the post!

My local Wal-Mart says the same thing, and said it was at their discretion to apply the policy. Not sure how true that is, but it is what I have been consistently told when I have asked.

They are uber-finicky with returns too -- refusing returns without a receipt even if you have valid id and aren't over the Wal-Mart limit other Wal-Marts abide by.

I wonder if Corporate gives each store the discretion to pick and choose the policies they abide by, or if the managers do it on their own without consent

I posted in the hot heals forum about getting free Halls Bursts tonight at Walmart. Be sure to look for that note.

It cracked me up because I was using several coupons to not only get the Halls, but the free Atkins drinks, and a Johnsons lotion, etc and the cashier girl literally froze when I handed her my coupons. She had never seen a coupon before and did not know what to do with them. I said, no kidding? I told her, just scan them and see what happens....and with the free Atkins, the screen asked her to enter the price and she asked me what she should put in there. Now, I could have lied through my teeth and said, "9.99" because the coupon has that as the max value. I would have been in an overage then. But I didn't. I told her what price they were and she punched it in and all was well. But I just could not believe it that this girl had never seen coupons before. No joke.

Wow, that's crazy about her not knowing what to do with coupons. When I tried to use my Atinkins coupons at Walmart, they told me I could only use one.

I go to Walmart when I know my favorite cashier is on shift.
She doesn't have problem taking my internet coupons, the other cashiers do.
She knows me as the lady with Blue Bunny Ice Cream coupons. (I've redeemed total of 8, 2 per visit:lol: )

I went to Walmart tonight with internet coupons in hand, along with the coupon policy (just in case!) Well, I always like to pick the young cashiers, so I found one and off I go. To my surprise, right before ringing me up, she leaves and another cashier comes on, an older lady  So, she rings up my items, my total is $100.xx. I hand over my coupons.. I had 2 $4 J&J, I bought the $4.54 lotions... she reads the ENTIRE coupons, says its one per purchase. I said okay, I don't want the other one, thats fine (I didn't even notice it myself). On to the next one, I got 3 of the Ultra Mini monitors to use at CVS, but out of the 5 stores I went to, they had none, so I bought them at Walmart since the coupon expires tomorrow. Anyway, she scans it, it says enter amount (they were two different prices, $14 & $18) she enters $20, it says amount exceeded.. so I proceed to tell her that she needs to readjust because it's cheaper than $20, so she does.

Next, I had 8 bags of dog/cat food and had the $4 coupons for them, she reads them over and over again. Mind you, I've been standing in line for like 15 minutes. DH went with me (big mistake:rolleyes:) he loves my deals, but hates coupons. Anyway, she ends up calling her manager over because "she just wants to make sure", um okay whatever. Theres about 5 people getting pissy behind me. Manager walks over, says as long as they scan, take them! I look at her with a "this is ridiculous" look on my face and she rolled her eyes as if to say "I agree". So after coupons and a few other food items, my total went from $100.xx to $9.xx! I figured it was worth the hassle, saving that much at Walmart isn't always easy! Anyways, thanks for letting me vent! :lmao:

This has nothing to do with coupons, so I apologize for going off topic, but does anyone know what criteria Walmart uses before the greeter stops you on your way out to look at your receipt?

The wife and I go to Walmart every Saturday to do our shopping for the week. We usually buy a lot, but on this particular trip, my cart was fuller than usual. So full, in fact, that I got stuck trying to rearrange my basket while the wife and kids headed on out the door. When I finished, I was walking faster than normal (but certainly not running), trying to catch up, when the damn door greeter stops me with, "excuse me sir, but could we look at your receipt?" I wanted to say, "no, sorry, I'm in a bit of a hurry" and continue out the door, but I didin't...I was nice. He then proceeds to spend the next 2 minutes looking at the cart and then the receipt...back and forth...back and forth... I guess it wasn't enough to see a foot long receipt totaling $160 - he had to actually verify the items.

The only other time I've ever been stopped is when I had a basket full of firewood that was only available from an OUTSIDE pallet. Ummm...yeah. I'm going to get a cart, go outside and fill it up, go inside the store, and then leave without paying for it. Stupid walmart.

I really think they just do it if they feel like it. At least that's how it seems. But I have told them no, I'm in a hurry, before and just walked out and no one did anything. Sorry, but I don't always have the time for an 80 year old man to slowly check my cart against my receipt. If you haven't caught me stealing and I don't set the alarm off, leave me alone!

Not trying to be a smart alek here, but it is their right to inspect your bags against your receipt and if you're doing nothing wrong, then you should have no problem with it. It's their job to check people. So, I would suggest going at a time you aren't in such a hurry and let them do their job.

Geesh.

Fist off, I'm always in a hurry, so I don't appreciate you recommending I starve :shake:

Now then, I'm inclined to agree with the previous poster. I shouldn't be stopped unless there's cause. I get delayed enough having to deal with the long lines, because they only have one cashier, because they think that's ok since they have 10 self checkout lanes open that take 10 times as long because you keep getting the "please remove unscanned item from the bagging area" even though it's been scanned, or "please place item in the bagging area" even when it already has been, that I'll be damned if it's their "right" to delay me again when I'm trying to leave the store with merchandise it took me a half hour to pay for.

Thank you. That is all

I went to WalMart today to buy some baby products with the gift cards we received at our showers. While I was there I remembered DH saying we needed dog food. I just happened to have had a couple of $4.00 off internet coupons for Dog Chow. The bags are normally $8.80 for 22lbs so I figured $4.80 was a pretty good deal so I got two.

I also remembered about the Johnson's lotion being free so I swung by and got some. It was actually $4.97 at my WalMart and my coupon was for $4.00 so I decided .97 was still a good deal. I bought two body washes.

When I got to the register I gave the coupons to the clerk after everything was scanned. She took the first coupon then decided she needed to ask because she thought the policy had changed concerning internet coupons. She went over to another woman and asked. She came back and told me I couldn't use them. I said ok, take this stuff off and paid for the rest of my purchases.

I then swung by cust svc and told the woman the clerk had asked that I wanted to see the corporate policy concerning internet coupons. I used as few words as possible in case I had to eat them! She told me she'd have to call the manager. A few minutes later the manager came and the woman explained the situation to him. He said he'd have to go to the back of the store to get the policy.

A few minutes later he returned and as he was breezing by me he told me I could use the internet coupons and something about a refund (?). It was so casual I wasn't really sure he was talking to me. He then told the other woman that the policy changed about four months ago and they do accept them! The woman was complaining, probably because she felt silly, that they shouldn't accept them because they have no way of knowing if they're legit or not. The woman she was talking to made a statement about it being crazy. I said in my nice nasty voice, "What's crazy is that the policy changed four months ago and nobody knew it, including the store manager." They shut up after that. I got my $27.54 + tax items and only paid $12.?? and left!

So, I won, they lost. And I was soooo tempted just to leave because with me being big fat pregnant and can't breathe I'm a bit, ok, a lot, hormonal. I should really be kept away from the public!

I paid $4.00 and got change back. I love it! LOL

Went to Wal-Mart today with only 5 internet coupons, but when I went to pay the cashier told me "No" we don't take internet coupons. I tried to explain that as long as they scanned, it should be okay. All he said was "No" again. I still bought the stuff, then went to talk to another cashier who used her walkie talkie to talk to a manager. That manager said, "No" as well. So, then I went to customer service to ask them and that person said that as long as they scan we should take them. So the customer service person took my coupons and I got my money back from Customer Service. I wonder why so many employees at Wal-Mart are on a different page with other Wal-Mart employees....

Did you have a copy of their corporate policy from the website on you? I always carry that with me. And I refuse to buy if they say they won't take the coupons. If you have multiple items, they'll often change their minds because they don't want to void everything out.

just a warning...sometimes the CSM is just as ignorant as the employees. which is what happened in my case...several times. my suggestion is to get the store manager...forget about CSM. the store manager doesnt want you to contact Walmart corporate...they're the ones who really give a crap. i've spoken to the store manager about the CSM and told him what a bad attitude she had, etc. i dunno if she still works there...i dont go there. nearly every employee at the specific location i'm speaking of, is totally ignorant. would you believe a cashier didnt know how to scan coupons??? i mean, isnt that part of your job to know?! and how hard could it be? you just SCAN it!

which address did u use? i've only phoned in and emailed complaints, with no resolution.

I just went to Walmart today, and tried to use a internet coupon from Ekrich(sp?). I went through the self checkout. The machine wouldn't take it, but the cashier at the self checkouts typed it in, and everything was fine.

Did you know that with many coupons you have to only scan the left bar code? Most of the time you have to put your thumb over the right one while scanning. If you pay attention to the cashiers that know what they're doing, they all do that.

You people need to stop shopping at Wal-Mart. Shop at retail stores that value customer service. At stores like CVS, Staples, and Costco the managers are trained to bend over backwards for customers, the employees are treated well, which in-turn maintains a good atmosphere where all employees want to help customers.

Yet people continue to shop at stores like Wal-Mart, where you can see employees that wear baggy jeans, don't tuck in their shirts, ignore customers, talk on their cell phones on the sales floor, and worst of all aren't even able to help customers correctly in their own department.

Seriously, if you want to use internet coupons just find a cashier that cool about it, and choose their line. There will always be different degrees of people, people who are sticklers and don't want to risk breaking a rule, people in the middle, and people who just don't worry about it because its a crappy WM job anyway.

When I worked WM in college, my pet peeve was price matching. I took it personally when someone would price match 40 items from different stores, because it usually meant the next 10 people in line would be jerks and ream me out for it taking an extra 10 mins. Store policy was to verify each of prices from inserts at the front of the store. And it just took forever to do. NOT to mention if I had more then X number of price matches, it meant my drawer would be audited and I could get a pink slip in my next drawer saying I was doing too many. WM would treat you like you were giving friends discounts.

Though WM was great for scheduling hours around college, it was one of my worst jobs ever. Totally thankless as every other person assumed you were a lifer and often flew off the handle with little or no provocation for factors such as line time that I couldn't control. Or would go up to a manager saying you weren't smiling enough. Yet those people wouldn't be smiling if they had to work a 10 hour day, often giving up breaks, for min wage--lines 15 people deep all day long.

Thank you. I got such a kick out of this. I work at CVS and can't tell you how many times we hear, "This is cheaper at Walmart!!" We all just bites our tongues, thinking, "well then GO TO WALMART you lazy bum!!!!" I'm glad we don't really do price matching. Amazing how many people expect you to just take their word for it, and change the price right there without verifying anything!!! Or they want a price match on 2 completely different items.

Anyways, thanks for making me smile. :) Have a wonderful day!

The funny thing is, if you actually pay attention to coupons, sales, and Extra Bucks, CVS ends up being cheaper. I get MUCH better bargains at CVS than I've ever found at WM and the customer service is so much better!

I agree and where they value their military personnel that are serving in Iraq. Sears is paying the difference ( if there is any ) between what a soldier will make while in Iraq and what their salary/pay was while at Sears. So that the families do not suffer any additional hardships   And they are continuing ALL BENEFITS for the families , even though the families are covered under Tricare while soldier in on tour:nod:

CVS is the largest pharmacy retail chain in America after their purchase of 700 Sav-On and Osco pharmacy stores (and even Albertsons stores):

http://investor.cvs.com/phoenix.zhtml?c=99533&p=irol-newsArticle&ID=806875&highlight=

So you might be getting bad customer service at a CVS store and not even realize that you are shopping at CVS since they own and operate so many different stores across the US.

As far as the CVS Stores that are actually branded "CVS" most of those stores operate out of the midwest which doesn't really count because the population densities in the midwest are nothing compared to the big city areas like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, New York, etc.

Of course if you open a Walmart in the San Francisco Bay Area it's gonna be a crazy setting because everyone wants a deal so there are lines 10-15 people deep every day. I guarantee you if you goto Tulsa Oklahoma or whever CVS Stores are located you be lucky to find one or two people in line.

I worked as a retail cashier for 13 years. If I only had to concentrate on one or two customers obviously I will be able to give much better customer service rather than the 5 or 6 people I usually got swamped with simultaneously when I worked at Target in northern California.

I hate Wal-Mart now. After reading the official coupon policy, I decided to take a polly pocket coupon with me when I went for groceries at the super center.

Cashier was rude, and said they don't take internet coupons. I tell her I have a copy of the official policy. She says "that's not real". LOL Sure, I have plenty of time sitting around in my basement making up fake coupons and fake internet coupon acceptance policies  I ask her to check with a manager. She says NO. She scans the coupon anyway (but I thought it wasn't their policy, lol). She says it printed off a notice saying the coupon is fake -- Oh, really, interesting I tell her, may I please SEE this mysterious notice that printed saying it's a fake? NO, she says. I again ask her to get a manager. She again says NO, but stomps herself over to the CSM stand and the CSM tells her to just take it "this time".

She finishes my transaction, scrutinizing even my glossy coupons from the Sunday inserts, slams my change and oldest son's chocolate milk that he asked to have out of the bag down on the little area where you sign a credit card receipt, and leaves my bags in the little carousel as she starts scanning the next person's order

I ask for a manager again, but she ignores me. So, with the four kids in tow, I call 1-800-Wal-Mart as I push the cart and the kids to the front of the store. Lovely woman from 1-800-wal-mart tells me how sorry she is that I do not understand wal-mart's coupon policy, and proceeds to tell me how regardless of what I THINK I know about the policy on internet coupons, that it is up to each individual store to determine if they take them. I tell her I printed off a copy of it, and she says she doesn't know what I have printed off, but that it certainly cannot be wal-mart's policy if it says what I am reading off to her

She does tell me that if I have a "concern" about the shopping experience, she can certainly call the store and have a manager meet me -- that perhaps the cashier didn't get him for me because he was busy (yeah, sure, that's why she said NO, and then chose to ignore me).

Stupid Wal-Mart   What really stinks is that apparently 1-800-Wal-Mart is a waste of time talking to, because at least the woman I spoke with says there is no "official" policy  Stupid, stupid Wal-Mart

This comes from the website:
http://walmartfacts.com/search/default.aspx?srchtxt=coupon
7/10/07

Sorry, I should not have made that website link so huge, but it pisses me off when people get screwed over at walmart, like your coupons is coming out of their min. wage paycheck or something.

Now you got some ammunition. FIGHT THEM BACK!!!

I agree. You should have just stood there until she called for a manager. It would have taken her 2 seconds to pick up the phone and call for one to meet you at the checkout. Or I would have refused to pay for my items until she called a manager.

I also wrote a letter to the CEO Mr.Scott and still nothing, absolutely nothing.

 , this makes me laugh. Sure it can be furiating at times but when it comes to irate customers like queen Wal-Mart Policy Protects us. You can scream and yell to get someone fired. Unless that cashier retaliated verbaly, physicaly, sexualy, racialy, there is nothing walmart can do. Once your are there 90+ days you can only be talked to. WM can not fire you without probable cause unless you retaliated stated above.

they need to becareful what they say... if she outright acuses you of fraud (creating coupons at home), that is harassment. Harassment is grounds for a lawsuit. Talk to a manager, and explain the seriousness of the situation. No CSM likes that thought. better yet...ask that specific cashier to call over a manager for you to talk about what she just said. That usually is an insta-quiet for the cashier. (or get the manager yourself, i am somewhat of a mean person!)

its only harrasment if you complain about it once and it doesn't stop and continues to happen and you have kept some form of records of each insident to prove it. Than is it only considerd harrasment and can be taken to court.

I went to wal mart the other dat with my coupons. Had a walgreens competitor coupon for pepsi's. They say they dont price match with walgreens. I will be calling the 1-800 #

I work in a walmart in Montana and my city just got 2 new Walgreens stores. Our store does not pricematch or use coupons for Walgreens. It has to do with how Walgreen stockes their store. Walgreens does not have a large backstock like Wal-Mart does. Walgreens only orders enough to fill the shelf and when they are getting low order more. One of my managers at Wal-Mart became a store manager for Walgreens and still frequently shopes at Wal-Mart, she explained it all to me and it makes sense since Walgreens will give you a rein check and Wal-Mart does not issue reain checks hense the reson for so much back stock. In shor Wal-Mart stores do not want to make up the difference for Walgreens short comings.

I see your point, but after talking to 1-800-Wal-Mart and being told that taking the coupons is up to the manager's disgression, I doubt it would have helped. I was (and still am) very upset 1) with the cashier and 2) with Wal-Mart's policy being not enforced. It is insane that they have a published "policy" yet call 1-800 Wal-Mart and they will tell you it's up to the manager of each store. Ridiculous!

After reading MTWMemployee's comments, I have to wonder if Wal-Mart even cares. All they do is "talk" to the employee if they are out of line? No consequences such as "a mark against them" for raises or anything? That is absurd! Maybe that is why so many Wal-Mart employees feel they can treat customers so horribly -- there are no consequences for it.

This should solve any problems that you may have had at the checkouts in the past. Copy, paste and print this out and next time you go to Wal-Mart take this with you...Good Luck!

In all seriousness, I doubt that they'd give a rats behind if you didn't shop there again ("you'll never set foot in here again? look--12 more people just came in the door...not as if we need you here!"). I don't even think the addage about the unhappy shopper telling 10 other people not to shop there really scares them that much either.

I was in Walmart using some internet coupons, everything went fine and I was being handed my change when a "floor supervisor" (the lady who walks around the cashiers and helps) told my checker that they don't take internet coupons, but it would be ok this once. SO being the pest, after I left (remembering this thread) I called and asked when the policy changed...and she said MONTHS ago they stopped taking internet coupons, and it was nationwide...WTF?!

Not sure if I should go in and speak to the manager about why my walmart is not following the posted corporate policy or not....what do you guys think?!

I have no clue as to why Wal-Mart cannot get their policy straight. If they changed it, they should have had the sense to take down the info from their website. For such a huge corporation, I am sure they have the capabilities to do so with no problem.

I would suggest writing corporate (I did, but heard nothing back, I think it may be so soon to expect a response).

Not trying to be a smart alek here, but it is their right to inspect your bags against your receipt and if you're doing nothing wrong, then you should have no problem with it. It's their job to check people. So, I would suggest going at a time you aren't in such a hurry and let them do their job.

Geesh.

Sorry but it is not their right. They can not detain you (prevent you from leaving) unless they have probable cause. The only time you must stop is;
-If you agreed to in a contract (IE membership clubs)
-Are caught stealing
-Set off the alarm and you are asked to stop by an employee (some states)

Even if they post a sign, stores do not have a right to search your bags (purse or plastic) or your belongings. Keep in mind, they also do not have to let you in the door.

"if you're doing nothing wrong, then you should have no problem with it." -this has got to be my biggest concern of society lately. I will assume you meant "If you have broken no law, then it should be okay for them to look through your bags."
What if I just bought a banana, a Cucumber, a pack of Trojans, and a tube of KY. Even though I broke no laws, would I want someone to judge me based on my purchases (assume I used the self checkout lane for this one)? Additionally if I am truly in a hurry, I do not <b>want</b> to stop and let them examine my purchases.

The same holds true at all stores not just Wal-Mart.

Best Buy is my favorite. On the rare occasion I surrender part of my pay to Best Buy, when the guy at the door ask to see my receipt I simply say "no thanks" and walk out. This usually elicits a quick jump to his feet and a very surprised verbal response response, such as "sir, I need to see your receipt". I simply walk away.

With Walmart it's all about working the angles and willing to be "That pain in the butt" they have a certain amount of money set aside just to appease customers and give them discounts that they really shouldn't get. The key is to be a pain in the butt without being rude so that you never make the manager feel like he is "losing" if he gives you something, try to get him to understand your point, be reasonable, logical, and even tempered and you'll get just about anything you want. I've seen someone walk away with a $1100 mower for $800 because that was the price he mistakenly thought it was...(Mind you this was about 10 years ago when I was in college) but it does happen.

I agree with this statement. I've had trouble at both stores (with Target basically calling me a criminal and having security escort me out over ONE internet printed coupon, and the local Walmart's cashiers are incompetant beyond belief), which is why I only shop there when I'm not using coupons (or using coupons I've gotten from the newspaper...but none BOGO or FREE or anything cuz they go into a freak out). I go to neither for groceries (Target is not a grocery store here). I rarely go to both stores because Kroger has nearly everything I need and NONE of the hassle as far as groceries/coupons go. It's very rare that I will go to Walmart or Target for anything. But I do go in there for household necessities on occasion...I'd say overall I visit Walmart or Target maybe 10 times per year total. I'm very dissatisfied with the way they treat their customers (and employees. my friend worked at walmart and they treated him horribly.)

I have called Walmart many times and after talking to many people and being promised that they would take my coupons, I have given up on the Walmart in Savannah on Ogeechee Rd. I am going to try Pooler, GA next.
Piggly Wiggly has always taken my coupons and have always saved over 100.00 each time I go. I think they all run when they see me coming..lmao.
Another good way to win over the cashiers is to print out a couple more and offer a couple to the cashiers. It always helps and puts them in a good mood most of the time.

I just used a free Nestle ice cream catalina coupon that I got from Kroger at Wal-mart, they had no problem with it. Kroger didn't have the kind I wanted. Don't try to use a coupon with another stores name on it at Meijer though, mine will not take them even though they are manufacturer's coupons.

Does anybody have the link to their coupon policy. I know it was posted on first page, but that is just the rules without it being from an actual Wal-Mart website. I tried searching for it on their website but only came across return policies, etc. I want to be able to show them, if I need to, an official coupon policy, not something that can be mistaken for as being "typed up"

Last week I tried to use a Internet Printed Kotex coupon at my local Wal-Mart and was denied by the cashier. I purchased the product anyway because they were needed that night but when I got home I emailed Wal-Mart about needing to teach the cashiers at that particular Wal-Mart about their coupon policy. Well, just a bit ago I got a call from the manager of the Wal-Mart thanking me for bringing it to their attention that the cashiers were not aware they accepted internet coupons. He said he asked every front end worker and every single one said they do not accept the coupons so he handed out a copy of their policy to every front end worker.
I have since put a copy of the policy in my coupon book.
I just wanted to let you all know the response I got from Wal-Mart when I emailed them :) I was rather happy because I actually just figured they wouldn't do anything!

I'm a CSM at my Wal-mart, and as a number of people have said for their Wal-marts, at my Wal-mart we will accept internet coupons, unless when we scan it, it either doesn't come up in our system, or comes up saying the item hasn't been purchased.

And though it is true, that sometimes cashier's, and CSM's both are misinformed, Usually the CSM should know what is going on, and it is also the case that some Wal-mart's may have had problems accepting a lot fraudulent internet coupons, and made a decision at store level, or received direction from district level to stop accepting internet coupons.

My point is that, it's quite possible that they don't accept them, and as a CSM I know I personally, don't appreciate it when customers, are telling me what we do, and don't accept. So, if the cashier, says they don't accept them, have the cashier call a CSM, but, please, give your local CSM a break, and don't tell me what I need to do... ;)

Thanks, Guys.

Here's to many future successes with coupons!

Thanks,

I was a CSM, my best friend was and still is a store manager as is her husband. I know the dance, but when my local CSM tells me they don't accept them and tries to rip the coupon out of my hand after I scan it at the self checkout and put it in the coupon slot, its time to re-evaluate your answer. If they scan, they are good and the only reason I have an issue is when it tells me I didn't buy the item, despite having bought it. Otherwise they'd never know until the emptied the register as the self checkout babysitter never pays attention. So despite the fact that you may be a good CSM, many are not and don't care how rude they are. I am not rude, just forceful when I know my rights are being stomped on.

The fact that Walmart takes Internet Coupons is just one more reason I shop there for my groceries over my local grocery stores. NONE of the grocery stores will accept Internet coupons AND the prices on many of the products we buy are higher than Walmart too!

Not that I am a huge Walmart fan, lol. It's just where I save the most usually, and that's what counts!

I just recieved this response from Krogers after being told that they didn't take internet coupons. I'm not sure where best to post the information, but thought since it was along these lines, I'd post their response here as well.

Thank you very much for contacting Kroger. We are very sorry that it required you to follow up without any reply from us, but we are thankful you took the time to address this important issue again. We sincerely apologize for the store not accepting your Internet coupons. We have had some issues in the past with fraudulent coupons being
downloaded and used in our stores. We want to make sure those who feel it necessary to take such actions will suffer the consequences, but their actions should not hold those who are honest and use legitimate coupons to have to suffer by not being able to use downloaded Internet coupons.

We are instituting a change in the company's policy to now accept print-at-home (PAH) internet coupons in our stores. Our research indicates that by their nature, print-at-home coupons do not pose a greater fraud threat than any other types of coupons; plus we're accepting over a million PAH coupons per week in our stores already. We recently worked with the retail operations team to analyze the PAH coupon market and risk; as well as our own rejected coupons to determine if there were defrauded in the coupon bags, and none appeared to be rejected because they were internet/print-at-home coupons by nature.

We recently partnered with Coupons Inc., the industry leader in print-at-home coupons, to now offer print-at-home coupons on the recently re-launched website, kroger.com. Coupons Inc. has been offering and studying technology and security practices for PAH coupons since 1998; their technology powers the vast majority of PAH manufacturer
coupons that customers will bring into our stores.

In consultation with Coupons Inc., we developed some ground rules/best practices for print-at-home coupons that should be enforced for maximum fraud protection:
? We should only accept printable coupons if they scan properly at checkout. Legitimate PAH coupons will always scan properly at the register.
? As a general rule, we should not accept "FREE product" printable coupons, with no purchase requirement. Buy-one-get-one-free coupons and other values that have a purchase requirement are acceptable but will be MUCH less common than traditional value-off coupons. The only exception would be for special corporate-sponsored programs where we provide explicit advance written notice.
? We should not accept coupons for more than about 75% of a product's value without advance notice. Legitimate PAH coupons will not be for a high value relative to the cost of the item. For example, a $2 off coupon will be acceptable for a product that normally sells for $5 or more, but a $2 off printable coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate.
? Coupons should be rejected if they appear out of proportion or blurry, or are obvious duplicates. Legitimate PAH coupons are never copied, sold or traded. Nearly all coupons are "non-transferable" meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
? Coupons should be rejected if they appear to have been altered in any way.
PAH coupons can be checked for validity at http://www.printcoupons.com.

However, the manager does have the ability to make the last call on whether the coupon can be accepted or not. We do leave the decision to the manager's discretion.

Anyone know the price match policy at Walmart?
I had the same store match one day, and other days not.
Sorry about being off the main subject.

Yes, they pricematch. I've been pricematching for several years now. They pricematch everything but buy 1/1 free or anything that is a % off. I usually never have a probelm (but I ran into a moron cashier the other day & it ruined my perfect record of pricematching without problems). The hippie older man cashier said he had to get a supervisor for a WalGreens pricematch. I was pricematching the Purex detergent from last Sunday's paper. It was 2/$4.99. At the top of the ad it said buy 1 /1 free and under the picture of the Purex in the ad was also written 2/$4.99 which they've always pricematched without a problem. It's simple math of $4.99 divided by 2= price per item. Supervisor comes over, reads the ad above the bottle of Purex where it says buy1/1 free and immediately tells me they don't price match buy 1/1 free items. I said "I know that, however read the line below it & it says 2/$4.99". She says but it says right here buy 1/1 free and we don't price match that. I was there for about 15 min. arguing with this stupid *!@&^, explained to her that as long as there is an actual 2/$price listed Walmart has ALWAYS honored it and simply divide the sale price by 2 making one $2.49 & the other $2.50.

We went round and round and after a few times of explaing to her and the hippie cashier both that Walmart DOES honor ads like this and they always have and I've been price matching for about 10 years now. I told the supervisor to call over a manager that knows the pricematch policy so that I could get my items matched. She pissy like calls over the radio for someone to call the register # (not WTF I wanted but WTH, whatever). She tells the manager on the phone that I'm trying to pricematch an ad that says buy1/1 free, that she told me how they don't honor it but how I wanted to speak to a manager anyway. I was pissed at the $!*&% at this point so I butted in while she's lying on the fking phone and told her READ BELOW THAT....it's 2/$4.99, you divide that price in two and that's the sale price. I KNOW YOU DON'T HONOR BUY1/1 FREE BUT THE AD SIMPLY STATES A SALE PRICE OF 2/$4.99! Manager on the phone asks her how much the Walmart price on the items were (like a .50 cent difference on each bottle) and evidentally told the !*%@& to honor the sale price. Stupid woman hung up, told the cashier to honor the sale price 2/$4.99 and she walked off. When I know I'm in the fking right I'm not about to have some jacka$$ tell me they don't honor something when in fact they do-and they have done so for years!!!

While waiting for the manager to call on the Purex I continued with my other ads. The other item I was pricematching was the Target ad for Herbal Essence styling products. I had 2 bottles of mousse to pricematch and the ignorant supervisor bitch takes the ad & their reading it like the fine print on a bomb label. She looks at the hippie guy & says to him "hair stylers, how are we supposed to know what those are, they don't list them". I'm standing there looking at this stupid !*%$^@ thinking WTF you moron. I speak up and tell her "The Mousse is the hair styler product". The phone finally rings with the manager so the topic was changed. Eventually I got my Purex, Herbal Essence, & Cascade Complete all pricematched like they should have done from the beginning. I now know yet another cashier NOT to go to when pricematching. Fking annoying when these morons act as if you're picking their personal pockets for change. Yeah, don't they know it's a huge scam we cook up to pricematch and rip off Walmart for under $5. I mean hell they might have to close down a part of the chain because we're pricematching for a total savings of around $5. WTF, morons! :shake:

Oh my!!! That is quite a story. :bounce: Glad it worked out for you!

You also have to watch them to make sure that they enter in on the register and on the coupon, if they do not enter it in on the register then it will not show up on the receipt, I lost 30.00 worth of coupons because the cashier did not want to take the time to enter in the amounts, I did not notice it was happening until I had already checked out. So, now I watch them closely.

In that case you march yourself right over to customer service and ask them for a refund. If they have to dig through the cashier's drawer to find your coupons, fine, but do not leave witthout your money.

It is standard policy, I worked there when I was 16 and have been comping ads for 12 years, but they don't post it anywhere.

The Manager of my local WalMart told me they do not accept black and white printed coupons because the manufacturers will not reimburse WalMart unless they are printed in color. ALL printed coupons have to be printed in color so the watermarks are visible.

I went to Walmart yesterday, pricematch ads in hand and a printout of the Walmart internet coupon policay. Included in my $13 worth of coupons was a $1 off internet coupon on some diaper rash cream. I was prepared and ready to argue the Walmart internet coupon policy when I ran my marathon through Walmart w/baby in tow. I didn't say anything while she scanned my coupons, went along playing with baby while she read each detail on every coupon then would scan them all one by one. She came to the internet coupon, scanned it & whammo no problem. Woohoo! FINALLY!!!! :woot: The coupon that did give her a beep was some Gerber coupons I had for $1 off ANY one Gerber product. I had 3 coupons and bought 3 different 2 packs of baby food. The coupons beeped and showed on the screen "Legit coupon amount?". Yeap by golly, I said yeap I got the 3 containers of Gerber baby food and she just clicked it 'yes' with no problems at all. That was by far my best Walmart trip I think b/c I had a coupon for nearly every one of my major weekly necessity items. I've gotta score some more coupons out there. There's nothing better than the feeling when I just saved $13 off my purchase for items we use all the time. :woot:

The Walmart I go to always takes them, up until the other day. I was told no online coupons because there is nothing printed on the back. How is that possible when it comes from your home printer??? Anyway, I pulled up the policy online and called customer service. The general manager called me the next morning to say how sorry she was. They DO in fact take online coupons, just not ones that you made a photocopy of. She also sent me a $25 gift card for my troubles.

So last week we settled with the assistant manager that they would accept all internet coupons as long as they are printed in color and the watermarks are visible... Yesterday my husband and I got into an argument with our cashier because she refused to accept our color coupons. She said just that day before she was told in a meeting they were not to accept internet coupons at all, no exceptions!... She eventually (after 5 minutes of arguing our point) took our coupons. She was tired of fighting with us and it was time for her break. All walmart's really need to get on the same page about this. How can the manager tell us one thing and tell their cashiers something different? This has become VERY frustrating.
