View Full Version : "see if user name is available" button

Now that I registered so I can post, let this suggestion be my first post:
include one of those "see if user name is available" buttons on the registration page. This just would be a nice convince for the new members

go to member list, and search for your name. if it shows up, its not. if it doesn't , you're free to use it.

i think OP meant before you sign up....kinda like gmail....see if you're name is taken before you sign up. unregistered SDers are cannot view the member list.

You can view member's list only if you're signed into SD :P

I really believe this would be one of the best user names -- rating right up there with Finzz.

NO, I did not try to create a new name, but searched the members list and Tythebigslurpytonguedog was not there. Why would I change my name? Well, I have thought of changing it, but I''ve used this one for so long I'm not sure I'd remember a new one. I thought of changing it to Hammer because of a childhood incindent (I hit my brother in the head with a claw hammer when I was 4 and my family calls me "Hammer" to this day), but never got around to going thru with it. What do you think? Would Hammer be better than callpocket?

"callpocket" came from playing pool leagues in my younger days. We played "call the pocket" 8 ball -- not for weiners or drunks -- you had to call all your shots. If the shot did not sink as called, the shot went to the competitor. No slop allowed.

I have been to the My Account Profile page several times and still can't find how to change my User Name. I signed up with just part of my e-mail but would really like something else. THANKS!

You need to send a private message to a moderator and ask them to change your username.
