woorfive - No, High Times has never had a free offer as long as I've been doing this and I've been at it longer than most. High Times is not one of the slicks that doesn't really rely on subscriber payments to be profitibale. Slick magazines make their money off advertising. Small niche inbterest magazines such as High Times, Mother Jones, Utne Reader and such DO rely on subscribers for a substantial portion of their revenues. My advice to you would be to go onto eBay and look for a Subscription Broker who sells at subs in bulk. They will sell often be able to give a price for a 4 or 5 year sub that would be the cost of one year if you subscribed using a blow-in or sewn-in card that came insde the magazine.

Ohter titles you will hardly ever find for Free:

Teen People
Entertainment Weekly
US Weekly
GQ
Star (has happene once via FBM after the last re-design of the mag)

You can however sometimes get those mags for free using airline miles. Amazon has deals sometimes for subs to some of these if you make the required purchase.

The following titles are almost NEVER EVER available for free and when they are, it is usually only through Frequent Flyer Miles or Points sytem loyalty rewards such as Ad perk:

Penthouse was available for free but SLick Deals doesn't permit the posting of offers for pornographic magazines. You can howver google on the title and the phrase 'Free Subscription" which should bring up a faxable form from ther Tampa Penthouse Club. That offer was set to expire on December 31 2007 but maybe you can still get in on it. There was also an offer for one of the Texas Penthouse Clubs with a form you can print out and bring to the club to get a free sub with your admission. That offer may also apply to the New Orleans Penthouse Club.

For dirt cheap subs to any of the above, I suggest you avail yourselves of eBay. There are dozens of mag sub brokers there who will sell you a 4 year sub for less than the price of one year at the normal sub price found in blow-in cards.


Maxim is still occasionally available for free from Rewards Gold. Best to set up a deal alert so that you will get an email whenever somebody posts a new thread with the word MAXIM in it.

If you don't mind going thru the whole cancel rigmaroll, yeah, it's fine. However, if you are very new to this, I wouldn't recommend doing ANY offer that requires you to accept to be billed for something in the future unless you do a certain number of things. Newbie Free Mag fans often get overwhelmed by that kind of thing. Stick to totally free at the beginning.

US Air's miles program offers most of the mags people are always asking for - that's how I got Time, Newsweek and US News & World report this past year as Xmas gifts for people.


Biz rate's offer is OK but for $6 to $8, you can usually get a 4 year sub via an eBay broker to those same magazines and not have to worry about your charge card getting charged the full sub price if you forget to cancel in time.

Do what you are comfortable with.

Simply, we do not want to clutter the main Free Magazines forum with a gizzilion requests. :nod:
Back in the day, before this thread existed, most of the posts in Free Magazines were either for free crapazines or were requests for free mags. Maybe 10% of the posts were actually good and it was difficult to sift through the trash. :whee: Hence, everyone is directed to this thread to post their requests. Most are ignored, but you can always :pray: that someone will help.
Your best bet is to use the search feature and try find the mags you're looking for. Maybe there is an active subscription and the deal just needs to be bumped. :)

I don't think you can find playboy for free other wise my hubby would be really happy lol. I could be wrong though.

Once upon a very long time ago, Playboy was offered thru Freebizmags. That was after they went thru a major redesign in 2003. it has not been offered for free since then except thru loytalty points programs and Airline miles programs. AT least not to my knowledge.

You didn't ask me about this but Penthouse was offered for free last year but neither playboy nor Penthouse or any other skin mag can be posted on Slick Deals. Sorry - it violates the rules on porn. There are still a few ways to get Penthouse totally for free by printing a form and mailing it in or bringing it to a Penthouse Club in various cities. You can access those offers via google. please don't PM me about them. They're easy to find with minimal effort.

The would be posted in the free magzines forum if there were offers for those and sadly, there aren't.

XXL has never been offered free to my knowledge - theyy don't have to offer it free, it's going like a juggernaut.

Maxim used to be offered free all the live long day but they ran into problems with people like us stacking up more free years than they felt comfortable with . Some folks had subs that ran throu 2028! Mine runs thru 2023! They started sending out letters saying that they will no longer add any free years or even paid years beyond 5 years into the future and they've stuck to their guns on that. You occasionally see a free offer for Maxim via Value Mags or teenfreeway but teenfreeway always links it to qualifying for HarrisPoll or some other doofus offer that never comes thru.

The folks asking for STUFF should realize that STUFF ceased publication a while ago and was folded back into Maxim as a feature. They refused to give extra years of Maxim to STUFF subscribers if their existing sub was already 3 years or more. Fargin rastards!

Businessweek - therer already is a RewardsGold offer for that

Forbes, Fortune or Money - only thru loyalty points programs or airline miles

I have never seen Scientific American for free outside of Airline Miles programs or loyalty points programs.

Popular Mechanics on the other hand has been offered a couple of times by magazine brokers as a totally free sub to lure in new customers. It's been over a year since the last offer tho. Your best bet is Adperk, airline miles, MyPoints and other similar programs
