Greetings all! As we continue to make improvements to the slickdeals.net website, we present to you the newly added consolidated search feature.

Due to popular demand, we added a search box in the main menu to help facilitate ease of searches. At the same time we took the opportunity to redo how search works on SD! Now when you search you will be presented with a results page that consolidates searches.

This new result page breaks it down into three well defined sections: frontpage deals, forum threads or posts, and pricegrabber products or merchants.

Also, you may have noticed we updated our logo and some other minor graphical updates :)

As a result, many users browsers may contain stale data. It would be advised that if you are experiencing any unusual glitches or if anything looks out of place, that you clear your browsers cache

We hope you enjoy this feature, and would love to hear what you think in this thread :)

I can't believe that we would have such an overtly racist statement on a public website in 2007. The new thumbs up hands are clearly Caucasian, while the thumbs down hands are clearly African American. It doesn't take a lot of thought to realize that this is an obvious reference to white = good and black = bad. This is ridiculous and I demand that you change them immediately, or I will call the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and the whole Rainbow Coalition on you.

Sorry, it had to be said, and I figured I might as well get it out there before somebody was enough of an idiot to be serious about it. Interesting new look - I think I could get used to most of it.

It's actually messed up for me. The forum and other links up top are missing, and there are misplaced links and buttons all over the top of the page

Um... Wow.

What's going on?

It looks like changes are currently being made live, I swear that the logo was different a minute ago.

I like the placement of the new search box (convenient, and is in an intuitive spot), and I'm still digesting the different features of the search results.

I'm not so sure about the other cosmetic changes...
I see that the Home/Coupons/Forums etc menu bar is now aligned to the left. I assume this was to balance the new search box? It seems to feel a bit... off, but I suppose that it will just take some getting used to.

I'm not sure I see how the changes made to the user-information box on the left of each individual post is an improvement. It makes it stand out more, and makes it easier on the eyes to be drawn to the different bits of information... But is having a whole new "console" there (and diverting attention from the actual post contents) a good thing?

The removal of the frame around the "Page x of x" links in the top (or bottom) right corner of each page of a multi-paged thread has something of an opposite effect -- it makes the information stand out less, which again I'm not so sure is a good thing. When my eyes go to the top right of a page looking for the "Next" link, it takes me an extra moment to find it.

I'm sure it wasn't intentional, but you do make a good point. Some people are very sensitive to this stuff and you can't just blow those people off because they are sensitive. SD may want to consider a different color scheme to avoid accusations.

EDIT: Scratch that. Upon further review the TD are clearly red. Perhaps offensive to Native Americans, but who cares.

JUST KIDDING!!!!

On a different note, the new UI seems to have broken search. No matter what I search for there are no results.

Anybody reporting layout issues, I'd imagine it would be helpful if you would include which web browser you're using.

I like search being right there for me, but I have to agree with D'oh about all the links being moved in the main navigation bar. It seems that every time anything changes on SD, the "Forums" link (most clicked on the site, I'd assume) moves, and I'm left clicking blank space or the wrong link. It's such a habit to move my mouse right there and click. I'm not saying that the new placement is any better or worse, but I'd appreciate it if at some point we could pick a place and stick with it.

I've attached my new and old left panel (IE7). They're the same width, but you're right, the horizontal lines and boxes make it look significantly wider.

Also, I do like the user online notification being higher up. Not really sure if I like it before the name, but moving up is definitely a step in the right direction.

Hmm. Guess I wasn't supposed to say that.

Also, this is a fun game we're playing. I've always enjoyed "find the thread." I type up a reply, the thread is invalid when I submit it, I hastily go back in hopes my reply is still in the cache, all the classics.  No, it's really not a big deal. I just have perfect timing to catch 2 threads being moved/consolidated in a row.

And to everybody reading this - yes, you may not be happy with some of the updates at the moment, but most of them will grow on you as you get used to them. I have to remind myself of that every time. If there's one thing that can be said about updates to SD, it's that they never make the site anything less than very useable. And, unlike many sites, the people here actually listen to our feedback. So give your opinion, but don't whine too much if it doesn't happen.

Bleh moved the position of the quick lines thread force me to move my mouse 300 px that way. But with this setup, can't really center it. Everything looks good, but I'm not a big fan of the thumbs up/thumbs down icon. Seems like the popular tags in the Hot Deals forum is a little messed up.

1) I don't like the new "thumbs up - thumbs down" icons. I prefer the old ones.

2) I don't like the way "search" results are displayed now - looks a lot like FatWall_t, and I detest the way their "search" results display. I would prefer "search" results to be displayed the way they were previous to this "upgrade".

I don't like it at all. Looks like a weak attempt to copy Google when they do their themes.

I also don't like the new TU/TD icons, especially the "half thumbs" that are fainter than a full thumb. But I suppose I'll eventually get used to it.

I don't mind any of the other changes, but I don't think they make things any better. I'm not sure it was worth the effort on your end to make these subtle cosmetic changes. If it ain't broke why fix it?

I would say give it a chance to settle in :) The new search, in my opinion (although of course im biased) presents you with more options and features than previously available.

Now you can filter your results by forum, and if you search for a product you will get either a list of products that you may have been searching for, or even if you specify a unique product a list of prices!

Give it a shot and try out "logitech" or "q6600" to see how we've integrated price searching to help streamline the users process.

The new logo simply has a drawing because one day i got bored :) I got another one lined up for after thanksgiving :)

There have always been "half" thumbs that were fainter than a full thumb. The reason the thumbs were updated was to present a cleaner image that streamlines the site and to remove the old blurry image.

I'm sorry to hear that you think the search doesn't provide any additional functionality. If you are so inclined, please feel free to make suggestions to help make it more useful.

O.K. I am getting more used to the new thumbs icons. As far as the "search" functionality, I'll have to play with it for a while to know if it will work for me.

When I perform a search, I am looking for user submitted (ie: non-commercial)"hot deals", and not commercial advertisements (since the whole point of this site is that it has user submitted content, and is thus "non-commercial" in that sense).

What I would prefer not to see in "search" results are little pictures of a product (let's say an Acer notebook, for example) with a link that takes me to some website for the product at a "not so hot" deal price.

I browse the hot deals forums here for deals, rather than browsing the rest of the internet, since there is so much power in the consolidation of so much user submitted content. When a site becomes too "commercialized" (which FW is in danger of doing), I think users turn off to the site. Please, please don't turn this site into another FW.

The idea with the product prices is so that users can do their price research all in one fell swoop. Normally (at least I do), when I search for something on SD and find a hot deal, i end up searching the web to compare prices. This is especially useful for people who are posting deals and want to search for reposts and prices! Now users posting deals can do both at the same time. We think it as a time saver :)

We have also retained the original search results, but added functionality that allows you to filter it by forum, and help you find what you're looking for faster. We just tried to present it in a cleaner format that is, hopefully, easier to read.

I do completely understand your concern however and we have definitely kept that in mind.

Reposts are the least of our problems; it is the "shotgun-style" posting of a user who shall remain nameless, and whom I love dearly, but is non-discriminating in his/her choice of posts.

I know there have always been half thumbs, what I mean is that I don't like the new ones. I don't know if they're too faint, or too similar to a full thumb. They just don't "read" well to me.

Why the change? What was wrong with the old thumbs?

As for the new search, I don't know if you've always had a global search or if this is new, but I don't have much use for it myself. I can usually find whatever I need by searching in specific forums for specific title words. My searches tend to be very focused (usually just checking to see if a deal I'm about to post has already been posted, or if there's already a better deal).
Reposts are the least of our problems; it is the "shotgun-style" posting of a user who shall remain nameless, and whom I love dearly, but is non-discriminating in his/her choice of posts.

Maybe I'm missing something here but, I thought I used to be able to collapse the "who's in the forum" section. I know we can turn them off all together in options...but I like to have it on in most forums but when I go to hot deals it takes up too much room and I like to collapse them.

Also, add me to the people who don't like the new TU/TD as much a s the old ones. Sorry.

Otherwise, I like the updates.

BTW, you forgot to change the voting thumbs for individual threads. They're still good-looking. If you're gonna change the TU/TD you should've changed 'em all. It looks extra-sucky to have half one way and half the other:mad:

Overall I don't mind the update, BUT,

TU/TD icons are fugly as hell. Don't like them one bit and don't think I'll ever get used to them.

The font used for usernames is too big!

The logo looks kinda half-assed. I don't mind the concept but the execution isn't so great IMO.

1) the info under the avatars is just too wide...too much space between the title and info on each line...ie.
posts:..............................15,0000
posts: 15,000

this leaves the info too close to the body of of the post...
Basically...there is too much air inside the user info...pushing it all too close to the body of the post....imho.

2) the small italicized style of the user title is off...

3) Reputation is easier to use when it is the last item

4) I don't care for the 'they are on or not guy' being in front of my screen name

5) the thumbs up/thumbs downs look too feathery, and the coloration is off ...
maybe things should be thumbs up or red flagged....I don't know...but these new ones just aren't right.

Thanks for all the efforts to make SD better.

Oh, one more thing. I just 'viewed new posts' and I didn't like the layout that was shown.. the forum was in front of the topic (and maybe that's how it was before but I think it was after) and the column is way wider than the text inside of it. It makes it harder to read the actual topic titles.

My slickdeals does not work at all now in my firefox. I refuse to use IE to access slickdeals. I DID clear my cache, ran ccleaner even all that but the problem is with my screen settings. If I keep it on what I'M GOING TO KEEP IT ON, slickdeals doesn't work.. All the new crap is floating above my toolbars that I click regularly (user cp) for example. OK, I've been doing my normal site navigation this morning and I gotta say.... the font on the username's are too big. Is the emphasis on who posted or what they posted?

Also, with the new layout there's a LOT more scrolling to reach the bottom of the page, I think each post has got to take up 25% more space (if not more). The way you have the avatars spaced, you could put the post count, rep and join date to the right of the avi and save some space that way.

I have 800 by 600 screen settings with the magnifer. I cannot put my settings different. Look it doesn't matter how many times I refresh or clear temp or cache, the problem is on my screen size settings. Since my screen cannot hold as much, it jumbles it all up so the buttons are overlapping. It works fine if I switch my screen but then I can't see anything. This is NOT the original problem everyone was talking about that clearing cache, etc fixes. Try it yourself, load firefox, with screen settings at 800 by 600 and u won't be able to click the toolbars such as user cp because the FAQ button is floating over it, etc.

This sucks. :(

Is it just me or is the background brighter than it was before on the classic style? I could have sworn that it used to have a "softer" look to it. When I signed on this morning I thought maybe I had accidentally switched to the hybrid look but that wasn't the case.

Also, I would have to agree that there is too much space in the user name/avatar area to the left. I think if there is going to be that much space then maybe allowing larger avatars would be ideal in order to take up more space and make it less "empty feeling". And this is just nitpicking I know, but what is the point in adding the "date joined" to the info displayed? Just seems very random to me.

It takes up more of the screen and draws the eye over to the left, rather than focusing on the post itself. Do you see all the extra blank space left underneath some of the posts due to the fact that the avatars are sooo big now? (see above post for perfect example)

The thumbs up and down are not as distinct from each other as they used to be; especially the faded versions.

The intensity of the previous colors allowed me to distinguish between threads at a glance rather than looking at each thread individually to see how the icons point, but I can't do that anymore.

Definitely need to kill the size of our names. Need to put "Posts" and "Reps" on the same line to conserve space. Put the date joined to the right of our user title (without the words "date joined").

Ex:

UserNameALotSmaller
L(20) Super SDer...Jan 2000
Extra Crap goes here (Location, etc.)
Posts: x,xxx Reps: xxx

The User Name should be the same size as all the other text but BOLD (at most one size bigger). Posts and Reps go last so giving Reps is easier and so these two are more easily seen (since they're last).

These things will considerably lessen the insane height of our posts. Don't know why the SD mods think we want to see our names so big and have our posts take up 5-20 times more space than needed.

The extra space and crappy new thumbs have ruined SD :(

to put it the shortest way, i dont like these changes at all.

the longer way:

what i really dont like is how all our info is listed inder our username. i like how it looked before. i also dont like that out Username is such a large font now. it's too big for my eyes to look at!!! i dont like that the User Title is in italics either.

TU/TD really bother me for some reason. I like the old ones much better.

The usernames do seem to be a tad too big.

With the page numbers on the bottom there is a litte _ after the last page. I don't know if that is an accident or if it is to signify end of pages but I think it looks dumb.

Finally did the background color change at all. It seems less yellow than it used to. If it isn't that, then it is something else that I can't put my finger on.

I only have a couple comments about the search feature.

1. Forum results should come before front page results. It's incredibly rare that I (and I would assume most others) search for a deal that's been on the front page recently enough to still be valid. So front page results should not be the top result, if you feel you have to include them at all.

2. We're gonna need way more than 5 thread results in that view. 5 threads is pretty much useless. Honestly, the best search view we've got right now is the one you get when you click "view more posts (http://forums.slickdeals.net/sdsearch.php?&search=dell&mode=forum&perpage=20&pagenum=1)". Although I don't know what to think about the pricegrabber thing at the bottom. It could be somewhat useful, but it really really commercializes the look of the site.

Also, the search bar on the left - I don't know, it just makes everything else look cramped. Maybe try it on the right? Maybe even across the top. I'm having a tough time visualizing.

I was very confused at first as well too. I have had my browser flake out on me before and make SD look all goofy and then I noticed it again this morning.

I am on Firefox.
1. I honestly didn't even notice the TU/TD at ALL, until I wondered where they went and had to consciously look for them. I don't like them because they blend too much and make it much more difficult to see a good deal at a glance.

2. I do not like the way the username section looks. It's all wide and looks too space hoggish.

3. I don't know if it's me, but I tried to post and include a link and change the name for the link, I was unable to add the link under the "Insert Link:" button. Does that make sense? I could only paste it in the message window. The insert link button did not add my link to my post like before.

4. I like the search box on top and easily accessible.

I don't really venture out of my "comfort forums" but I will have a look around and see what it looks like. Thanks for all the hard work! :)

I was thinking the same thing:nod: . C'mon SD, lets stay original.

Also, agree that the whole side box with username, reps, location, etc. is way too big. The other size was just fine. Our posts just seems to darn big (height wise) and I feel that the site looks more cluttered, and less streamlined. Waste of space IMHO.

Search page is fine, just gonna take some time to get used to. I don't like the navigation bar on the side, just too big, but the idea is good. Kudos for putting the search bar up top without having to make the additional click.

I was actually thinking the same thing when I saw the new colors, I would like to see "blue thumbs up" maybe the same blue as the SD logo.

I like most of the changes - at least I can get used to them. That being said...
1 - The new thumbs up really freak me out - what was wrong with the yellow ones?
2 - The username area to the left does seem longer to me - so if you just post a short sentence there is a lot of space taken up because the posts/reps/date joined/location and for some the Yahoo/MSN/AIM links is taking up a lot of room. Seems to me this is going to require either more pages to go thru in a thread or a lot more scrolling to read all the posts.

And I like the new cute logo at the top.

2cents:

It's slightly harder to see the "thumbs-up" now. The color of the hand is very similar to the background color of the thread. The previous yellow color had higher contrast. The current fleshy color seems to blend in for the worse.

Also, since the icons are smaller, it's harder to catch the eye. For slickdeals, the old layout had a bigger SD symbol. Now, both the SD symbol and hand symbols are smaller and harder to see.

1. avatar space a bit too wide. you probably had to specify speficial size in order to allign everything properly, so unless you guys want to allow larger avatar size, shrink it say by 10-12 spaces and it should be ok.

Looks nice. the "real-looking" thumbs up scares me though.
:hide: it does for me too.

I find that racist and offending to my Native American heritage..
awww I like the little fall scene :D

Some comments:

1) I don't like the new "thumbs up - thumbs down" icons. I prefer the old ones.

2) I don't like the way "search" results are displayed now - looks a lot like FatWall_t, and I detest the way their "search" results display. I would prefer "search" results to be displayed the way they were previous to this "upgrade".

-Thanks.
:iagree: I'm not sure what's with all the pricegrabber search thing..doesn't seem to show up for me..which I'm happy about if you guys decided to remove it while I was asleep. I never use pricegrabber anyway except for those $5 rebate every now and then.

yes :iagree: I believe the larger space should attribute to larger avatar space...I mean maybe at least 128x128 like most other forums? And my background color is always kept to SD ice so I didn't really notice a difference there.
So far..search is fine, the overhaul is a bit overwhelming at first, but I suppose I'll get used to it. I like the little autumn pumpkin thing and the the more refined SD logo..it's nice. So far my only gripe is
a.) the TU/TD...it scares the freaking heck outta me. IT's so...flat..not 3-dimensional like the old one, which mikes it look more refined, not like um..2D paper.
b.) ahh..I see what the new search is about...upper right-hand corner. Very nice. but I'm already accustomed to the pull-down search box, so it won't affect me..but nice touch anyway :)

I agree with others about the thumbs up/down. They are not pleasing to the eye. That outline around the edge makes them look much too busy. The original image is much easier on the eyes and stands out more.

I also dislike the user info. area, seems so big now. So much scrolling for a one sentence post seems a waste of space too. I don't like the status indicator in front of our names.

Thanks for all the feedback. We'll continually work with you all to try to update the site :) We gave the thumbs another shot with a new color, but if you all really still hate them after a week or so we can always go back (i saved them just in case).

Someone mentioned that they thought the thumbs were smaller and that the sd logo next to it was smaller too! In fact the thumbs (pixel by pixel) are pretty much the same size, and we didnt touch the little sd logo that signifies a FP deal.

Regarding the user profile stuff, i do see the concern and we'll tweak it a little more to make it feel less wide, and we'll definitely reduce the height since that is an issue.

There was one user who reported the wrapping of the main menu at small resolutions. We will try to fix this issue for you as promptly as possible. In the meantime you may want to use the "fixed" width option (ie at the bottom of the forum you are presented with the user interface controls where you can pick : theme, increase font, decrease font and then an icon with " <>" press that to go to fixed width and that should resolve the wrapping for now until we can get a fix in for you.

For the user who stated that the search wasnt very useful with so little results, please note there is an option at the top right of the page "show: 5 10 15" and this will set your default number of results returned!

I agree with the whole thumbs issue the old ones are more visually appealing, and I too think the huge space occupied by user names should be condensed, I dont really see the search changes yet, one thing that is bugging me is it looks like all the font is paler and changed somehow like what I am typing right now, I am really having a tough time reading everything now.

the extra "air" in the user info area...leads one's eye there...
making it seem like a more important area than the message.

I don't think filling the space (larger avatars) is the answer...but rather removing the space.

Actually I don't think the user names are bigger but smaller than before. I think the layout of that personalized box is just different and makes you think it's bigger. I'm not fond of how the box with screen name, join date rep etc. is almost the same color as the posting area. I have cleared my cache, and I am using the sd classic style. They almost seem to overlap. It almost seems like the avatar / info box is less efficient than it used to be too.

All you can do is just enter something in and search. I dont' understand what's different from the original one that we had. But with the original we had other search options. More options are always cool, but it just seems like misc stuff that could slow down the website.

I only have one other gripe really, that's that the threads in forums seem to have the same color box, you can't really differentiate them as easily anymore. With the lines on the bottom and top of each one it's easier to tell who started which thread and whatnot since the title is bunched up with others on the left, and the names and times are bunched up together on the right side.

As for the box color for the thread listing, they are the same color as before. The only changes were the highlight box when hovering over a thread and the lines between the thread.

:iagree: It's harder to tell the separate threads now, without the lines between the threads. Especially if the thread title is more than one line long. Please put the visible lines between the thread titles back.

Other than that, I think I can get used to most of the changes :). The search results page, I think, will be the hardest for me to get used to. With the extra options/filters down the left side, the font size of the actual results now looks smaller (and seemingly smaller than the font on the rest of the site, also?) and it's harder for me to read. Is there any way to fix that? Or maybe some way to make the filter options column collapsable, like other modules on the site are? (and hopefully make the results font size larger while doing so).

Whether it can be done or not, thank you to all of you that are constantly working so hard to make the site better for us. This is why SD is the best site out there :)

How about an option to click on an avatar to see a bigger version (if you wanted it)

Or, a general user option to display either large or small avatars ?

It's harder to tell the separate threads now, without the lines between the threads. Especially if the thread title is more than one line long. Please put the lines between the thread titles back.

Other than that, I think I can get used to most of the changes :-).

:iagree: Could we also have an option to "hide" the 5 frontpage results that pop up :bounce:

Whether it can be done or not, thank you to all of you that are constantly working so hard to make the site better for us. This is why SD is the best site out there :)

absolutely ! Thank You SD :-)

When I rep someone, it doesn't automatically refresh the page with the new rep score - is that coming back or gone for good?

Also, I have problems with the font/sizing of the user info. All of it is too small, and the username letters need additional letter spacing, and the user title could be darker.
kthx

Thank you for putting the lines between the thread titles again. Much better :).

However, there now seems to also be a line along the bottom of every post, just above the Mod Alert/Reply/etc buttons, which I don't think was there before. I noticed it just after I saw that you'd put the lines between the thread titles back.

(Of course, that line could have been there all along and it's just more noticeable to me now because I'm looking at the new changes. If so, ignore that last paragraph ;))

If you're talking about threads that you started, you can go to your profile and on the right hand side look for the "Threads Started" link. That shows the results as threads, but only for ones where you were the OP.

Otherwise, I think the only way to find all of your posts, and also have the results show as threads, is to do so from the advanced search page. Search for your own username, and on the 'show results as' option at the bottom left, make sure that 'threads' is selected.

Where to begin... ok;

Frontpage Deals: I don't care for the FrontPage deals or whatever to appear in my search-results. If I want to know what's on the FrontPage, I'll go to the FrontPage.

Forum Thread View: Yea, so every thread which has the word I searched for is listed, but limited to 5... gee-whiz! At least give us an option to display more via a setting, if you're gonna limit us by default. Also, what about just searching thread-TITLES only?!?!

Products: Gee... I'm not looking for "Products" - I'm looking for thread topics and discussions!

...but just my opinion; a verified and listed Coder/Designer on vB.org for several years now and owning several of my own forums. :)

Yeah, I was looking for this in a one click like the 'New Posts' link @ the top of the page.

Note that at the top right of the search results page there is an option to increase the default number of results displayed in each section.

The idea behind the pricegrabber results section at the bottom allows you to do price research at the same time :) Should you not need it, it is below and out of the way.

So lets say you are searching for a deal for a q6600 processor, you search for it, you see thers one or two fp deals in the past and what that price is, you look int he forums, you see some there, at the same time you can see what it is retailing for currently.

Isn't it really an attempt to get more affiliate sales $$$?

I can't vote for threads. When I hover over the TU/TD icons I get the "hand" cursor but when I click nothing happens.

Still like the old thumbs better. Why so determined to change them?

I see the option to display more threads... just prefer to have a preset choice prior to searches that i can set it and forget it. you're just creating extra steps for users which is commonly frowned upon. as for the PriceGrabber... as I mentioned, I'm not looking for prices, I'm looking for threads discussions. Why not just have a link for PG results at the bottom rather then the 5 inches of wasted space on my screen for something I don't want to begin with... or maybe an option of what users want to have displayed on their search result pages. Yea, I think that would be best all around. I mean, is this a discussion forum or Amazon?

Isn't it really an attempt to get more affiliate sales $$$?
That's exactly what it is... and it pisses me off too. AS I mentioned before, this is a discussion forum, not Amazon or PriceGrabber.

they're still too FW-y for my taste. :vomit:

Bring back the old ones!!

:iagree:

I dont know how they can look FW-y :( They dont even use thumbs lol. That and you know how mangled their smilies and stuff look :(

That's exactly it, though. The thumbs look mangled and like a very low-fi version of the old ones.
Keep 'em for a day or a week, I don't see myself getting used to a downgraded version of what we used to have, regardless of how long they're here.

I think it's that hand-drawn kindergarten art project kinda look http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif

It doesn't fit with the look of the rest of the site.

:iagree:

I'm sure you put a LOT of work into it, but I'd rather have the old TU/TD back, if you don't mind :)

the extra "air" in the user info area...leads one's eye there...
making it seem like a more important area than the message.

I don't think filling the space (larger avatars) is the answer...but rather removing the space.

I really think that how the user area used to be was more appropriate in how the space was used.

imho

I agree. And wasn't the old user name underlined? It needs to be 'anchored' and less 'floating'. Not a great graphic design, imo. The 'online or not' thingy in front of the user name just looks BAD. It throws everything off.

I HATE the sigs being italicized. :thumbdow: Change it back. :please:

But, the SD logo looks great. Much improved.:cool2:

On Windows, the website looks fine. On Ubuntu, I've tried 2 versions of Firefox (2.0.0.9 and 3.0 Beta 1) and 2 versions of Opera (9.24 or the latest stable one, and 9.50 Beta 2). None of them display the site right. The search bar is always to the right side at the end. It's hard to explain, so I've attached an image.

That is not the driving factor for the addition of pricegrabber to the search. One: we want people who are posting deals to simultaneously be able to search for reposts and do product research as well. Two: we want people searching for deals to be able to see if its a good price by seeing comparison shopping.

I see the option to display more threads... just prefer to have a preset choice prior to searches that i can set it and forget it. you're just creating extra steps for users which is commonly frowned upon.

I assume you actually have not tried using this feature as it is a persistent one (ie it remembers your settings). Secondly if you use the search bar from inside of the forum, it actually directs you to a result page that lists forum threads first, and in great quantity.

Perhaps we'll move it to the end. But you should know that nothing has changed with the sigs period.

Huh thats highly unusual that it would change because of the operating system. We'll have to look into that. Thanks for the report.
