I understand that if one doesn't have a Something Awful account nor firefox then one will have no idea what I'm talking about, but basically its a really neat extension for firefox that allows you to look at the last post you haven't seen on a thread with the click of a button, it highlights what posts you have seen, does a few other neat things, like quick replies (the current quick reply doesn't let you quote, least not that I know of). I just think it would be really neat if someone were to make an extension like that for the slickdeals community that uses firefox. I myself have no idea how to create or program extensions else I would do it.

to quickquote, click the icon of a paper and pen next to reply. it'll take you to the quickreply box and you'll see the quote message in reply box checked.

...(the current quick reply doesn't let you quote, least not that I know of)...See attached image. Also, if you click on "New Posts" or "New Deal Posts," you do get some of what you mention.

haha whoops, but still, some of the other neat features of SA last read would make a great extension in the slickdeals forums as well.
Also new posts/new deal posts doesn't quite do anything like I was talking about (sorry my original post was quickly typed, i wasn't very clear on any of the ideas I was trying to convey, I just really hoped someone that knew what I was talking about would respond).

Anyways, what I mean by post you haven't seen yet is this. Say you look at a thread, go to the 5th page or so, and its only got 6 posts so far on that page. Well you come back an hour later, go to the hot deals forums, and see the thread that you were looking, but this time around it is clearly highlighted and sticks out so you can see it better. There also is a button that would allow you to jump to the 7th post on the 5th page of that thread, since you haven't seen that particular post yet. Thats basically what I'm talking about with allowing to see posts one hasn't seen yet. As for the quick quote, It is true that I was wrong about that and slickdeals does indeed have something for that. There are a bunch of other neat things I enjoy about the SA last read extension, but I don't really care to go into it.
