Anyone interested in the myth of Windows vulnerabilities, check out this article, which summarizes the recent state of XP/Vista and OS X, based on Secunia's statistics. Linux is not included but you can link over to Secunia to get those numbers yourself.
More actual exploits appear for Windows due to the vastly larger user base, and also because before XP SP2, Windows was a soft target. It's not anymore (if only more people would get themselves updated), particularly when it comes to Vista, which is considered the hardest user OS to exploit.

LOLOL, "Steve", anyone who thinks this free program is better than McAfee or Norton has their head up their A and is a cheapskate. EVERY review has AVG toward the bottom and never above the better PAY ones. My computer works fine with Norton and McAffee (not at same time) because some of us have a newer computer with a lot of RAM (if you know what that is). Your heap of junk Commodore 64 with 128 MB RAM is of course gonna be slowed by a real virus scanner, not some el cheapo one. I have used AVG and the pay ones work a lot better and find more, esp my Kaspersky one. Just look for the free after rebate ones.
LOLOLOLOL (I beat your initial LOLOL so I am right...) You're comment is stupid. I went from norton to free AVG, and got the internet suite because I could get it for free. AVG IS better than norton. Norton was better than McAfee. Norton missed 10 files that AVG free picked up. I have a 6000+ with 4 gigs of ram, granted it only picks up 3.5 gigs due to my being on a 32 bit operating system... but the slow down with norton IS extremely noticeable. Especially the 5 minute startup times for windows. Oh, also, I am a PC technician, so consider that before you try to back up your previous statement of me saying AVG is better than norton means that I know nothing about computers. Now, all that being said, it still comes down to a matter of opinion.... but to prove my point, I abandoned my norton 2007 which still had 5 months licensing left, to go to AVG, and as I said before, AVG picked up 10 files that norton never did.

I say keep your opinion to yourself then. I won't respond or debate.
I often discuss & debate many things. Stating my view on AVs & that I wouldn't enter into a debate about it was merely an advance courtesy to anyone who might have wanted an intelligent discussion or debate & would otherwise have expected a reply.
I don't have time/desire to dig out references.

Not because Linux is inherently any more secure, of course, but because no one would ever bother trying to exploit it. Same for OS/X (built on a similar platform), which also had a worse year (much worse) in terms of number of vulnerabilities compared to Windows, but again, when there are hundreds of millions using one platform and 7 using the other, it's easy to choose which one to go after.
Yes... just like Macs. Mac users and linux users love to boast about how they are unexploitable... but its not that they are unexploitable, its just that the people who create exploits, viri, etc, don't both with linux and macs, because not enough people use them. They want their stuff to affect lots of people and be publicized. Attacking macs and linux users would only affect a very small minority of the people. That is a well known fact.

For the skeptical individuals who still think this is a trojan, here's the installation log file from the Megaupload [http://www.megaupload.com/?d=Q91L5ZXX] avg7_503a1171_vnu.exe file:

Completely legit. Now if only I could get my hands on the Spy Sweeper download...

Kaspersky Internet Securities is great Nod32 is excellent also. I don't pay for any AV so I can honestly say AVG is good. People who think free is good enough obviously just do some casual surfing and email...if your out there looking for movies or software and all you have is some free shit...bottom line your F#cked !

Surprisingly I haven't viewed any pages other than 1 and 20.
AVG is great. I have used the free version for 8 or more years. Never had any virus issues. I work in the IT Industry and practice smart choices when using the internet so that helps, but AVG also has protected the family PC for many years without letting anything through.
nice find, but i'll stick with the free version.
setup an admin user, give yourself standard rights in xp, 2000, or vista. then use the comptuer and youre almost 100% trouble free. no antivirus or anything to slow down your computer. i'd install an antivirus and just run it once in a while to scan the system. i wouldnt have it constantly running and using up memory resources. AVG is great, even the free one. Symantec sucks and so does mcafee. If this one expires after a year, the free version works well. never had a problem, also setup all my relatives this way and never any problems. systems still run fine, even after 3 years. as long as you dont have admin rights to mess up the comptuer, a virus cant mess it up either. and use firefox as your main browser. trust me..............

why the heck is everyone giving this thumbs up? Good that its free but it got a pitiful review... DEAD LAST !!!! http://www.pcworld.com/article/124475-1/article.html
Yes its for the free ed but how much better is this pro ed.?
At work, we are forced to install McAfee. But, when McAfee detects something, it very often doesn't remove it. But, good ole AVG removes it every time. We uninstall McAfee, install AVG, clean, uninstall, then reinstall McAfee (blah!).

I would have to agree. I tried setting up my kids with standard rights and they couldn't even go to kids websites without problems. Standard rights are a joke. I am Microsoft Certified System Engineer along with a half dozen other certifications and degrees and I can tell you it is impossible to use standard rights unless all you do is check your web email.

well I think a good point is that AVG always digitally signs their downloads. vnunet does not. What would be nice is if you could use the AVG signed download with the key from the vnunet download. I'm pretty sure the key or dat file is standard, based on what I've read. Anyone care to weigh in on this?

Shocker that a publication like PCWorld rated the FREE application lowest. I've tried every antivirus application on that list except the Kaspersky one, and every single one of them is inferior to the FREE version of AVG performance-wise. Frankly, people get too paranoid about viruses. You don't need some money-sucking conglomerate like McAfee or Norton taking over your operating system to protect you. Just go with AVG (Free or this free Professional version) and sleep just fine at night.

By the way, that publication is a year old.
Here is a more recent review of anti-virus programs:

AVG scores better, but its still behind the pay-for versions. I personally use NOD32 for anti-virus.

In other words, it's warez... unauthorized, illegally-obtained copyright-infringed software.
Wow, such an odd response coming from someone with so many posts. As he is asking, along with others, how do we SUBSCRIBE to get a legit serial #. As w/ AVG Pro, the serial # is embedded and will generate a unique one per install, Spysweeper will not.
i just downloaded and installed the free version earlier today... is there a difference between the free version and pro?

Actually, AVG, free or pro, is THE WORST antivirus program out there. I have handled many viruses and malware on my computer to date, and my AVG free just kept chugging along with no detection. I finally got upset at it when I accidentally opened a malicious program and infected myself - AVG didn't catch it, but Outpost Firewall did, and it stopped it from transmitting my personal data over the internet. I blocked the virus and uninstalled AVG. Avira Antivir is the best free antivirus out there, and after installing it, I got rid of all the viruses on my computer (quite a few infections AVG didn't catch).
If I were you, I wouldn't go mouthing off "paranoid" people, especially if I didn't know the facts.
One note - using Windows Firewall is much like using AVG antivirus - it's a false sense of security. It cannot stop any viruses on your computer from transmitting information out (it can only stop a connection to you, not a connection from you). I Trialpaid for my Outpost and I am very glad for it. If not for that program, I would have been hacked silly while Windows Firewall and AVG turned a blind eye.

I also fix computers for living and my experience is much like yours. AVG is pretty weak imho, but the programs i'd stay away would be norton and mcafee. For a free AV, i'd recommend Avast.

AVG & other AVs are antivirus programs. You didn't "blocked the virus", you blocked a trojan. AVs are not ATs' no AV can be relied on for the relatively greater danger: trojans.
If you better understood PC security then you usually wouldn't have even reached the point of "handled many viruses and malware".

Every person's experience is different and there is also no such thing as a perfect software app. That's why you can never use just one anti-spyware app to remove a spyware infection. For us here at my company, AVG is the "go to" anti-virus because our corporate McAfee anti-virus/anti-spyware doesn't remove about half of the infections we face. AVG removes them every time. One user's system had a virus which kept changing his HOSTS file. This user is a web developer and needs to edit his HOSTS file. Nothing but AVG found the infection. This was after 2 days of trying all different utilities.
I have had nothing but good experiences with AVG over the past year since I started using it in a corporate environment.

I read yesterday that some of you are concerned about the vnunet setup containing a trojan. I don't believe this is the case but I do not know for sure. The setup files available directly from Grisoft are digitally signed, while those "sponsored" are not (i.e. vnunet, cnet, etc. ).
The latest version is AVG Anti-Virus Professional Edition 7.5.516 Build 1225:

Instead of using sigcheck, you can right-click avg75f_516a1225.exe > Properties > Digital Signatures
When you try to install in Vista (UAC) you will see something like avg1234.tmp requesting permission for elevation. The publisher should show as Grisoft, s.r.o. If you click the 'Details' button you will see the file is avg75f_516a1225.exe.
The vnunet 1-year trial key can be used on the signed version. The trial key is the same for everyone: 75VNU-TH1RR1-L7-P03-C01-S3S9MD-2YN-3AUS

So from this website and the last two reports, Kaspersky and NOD32 are superior in both reports, Avast, McAfee are some what inferior in one of the reports. AVG along with Norton and bunch of others is above average.
For all of those people out there thinking Norton and McAfee are the greatest things invented since the 2Gb ram stick. Take a look at av-comparatives.org.
http://www.av-comparatives.org/ (http://slickdeals.net/?sduid=150536&t=698696&u2=http://www.av-comparatives.org/)
Yes, AVG isn't on the top, but compared to Norton and McAffee it is much better.
All those people thinking Im on Commodore 64, its actually a Picodore64. I love it and AVG Anti Virus runs great.
Just because your new shiny computer you buy at the store comes with Norton or McAfee Security and a bunch of other crap software doesn't make it the best. They pay big money to be put on your bloated computer.
Oh ya, just because you have a lot of system resources to burn, does that mean you should do it? You people are talking about Norton and McAfee running on your fast computers. Did you know it could run just a little bit faster with AVG and be better protected.
Getting a free antivirus software from AVG is not a bad thing. You dont have to spend your hard earned money on your antivirus software. Look at what forum you are on. This forum is for cheap people, being cheap does not denote ignorance.... This place is for cheap people who want great products at awesome prices IMO.
Educate yourself, read about the product, cross compare, check twice.
I have attached a picture of my computer and a special picture for those who like to argue on the internet.

Download links posted by other SDers are probably fine, but here's the safest way:
Go directly to the Grisoft AVG Pro 30 day trial download page on the Grisoft (publisher) site:
http://www.grisoft.com/doc/downloads-products/us/crp/0?prd=avw
There yo can click on:
"AVG 7.5 for Windows (avg75f_516a1225.exe) 7.5.516 exe December 19, 2007 56.3 MB"
Or, the direct link (as listed in above) is:
http://www.grisoft.cz/filedir/inst/avg75f_516a1225.exe
Download it to your desktop.
You can also find a PDF on that page entitled "Other documentation Sales to License Number Conversion" instructing you how to convert the 30 day trial to the license that expires 12/01/2008. The PDF link is:
http://www.grisoft.cz/filedir/doc/OTHERS/sales_to_licence_number_change/avg_cnv_oth_en_75_1.pdf
As others posted in the thread, there is 1 (not unique) serial # for this magazine offer to have the Pro version through 12/01/2008 & it is:
75VNU-TH1RR1-L7-P03-C01-S3S9MD-2YN-3AUS
Now that you're ready, click the installer that you downloaded to your desktop & proceed.
This all works the same whether you are new to AVG or if you currently use the free version (it will update the free version to Pro & keep your settings).
(If you're a current Pro version user & you're license expires before 12/01/2008, you can probably just enter the new license # to extend your subscription.)

Not sure if this has already been asked already, but has anyone downgraded from AVG pro to just the regular old AVG free? I'm wondering if this is a problem.
I am planning on going to the Pro version, however I'm wondering if the program contributes to system bloat - for example, does it use up a ton of memory, does it install weird shit on my computer etc. Also, if I were to downgrade would this be a problem?
Thanks in advance.

A couple questions: Why is the AVG version downloadable from Grisoft signficantly larger? Can that much be explained by the slightly newer version? Also regarding the serial that was published, how does that jibe with what was said about what happens when you download the other file, that a unique serial will be generated upon installation?
So I take it that the SpySweeper serial was not published?

The AVG Pro license key in this thread works for updates through 12/01/2008.
Keys found on serial sites (for a variety of Grisoft products) activate full features but they catch it & deactivate if you do an automatic update.

It's a free download but not free; it's a 30-day trial version. But don't download it there, since that's one of the earlier 3.0 versions. A variety of bugs have been fixed since, though some people still prefer the last generation v2.7, since not all the kinks are worked out of 3.0 yet. Anyway, the latest version is here:

Not to be an ass, as I too uploaded it to lesson the server burden. But if it's free for all....why does it matter where it comes from (other than the usual litigious reasons?) It seems to me it's furthering the reason for getting it out there in the first place.

Webroot is offering free 1 year licenses for a limited time.
http://www.webroot.com/activateIt works to get a license key. What good is that without a download link? The free scanner only download does not have a key entry area. The full program download on Webroot has a money back guarantee (requires purchase $). There isn't any trial version anymore (at least I don't see any).
So you first need a special offer download link (like found in another SD thread).
First go to:
http://www.webroot.com/activate
Then, get the email with your key (it is a unique ID).
Then download the program here (& have the key in your clipboard to paste during install):
http://www.computeractive.co.uk/spysweeper/index
This is the full featured current program & includes 1 year of definition file updates. Don't be fooled by other messages saying updates aren't included with this license & linking you to buy it online. The only thing not included in this version is future program updates.
Just use the automatic updates checkbox & you will receive all definitions.

There was only one other thread that mentioned spy sweeper (the AVG link), but it was through a different company that was a dead link.
UPDATE: MMMKAY! I have to say, I love SD, but they REALLY need to improve their search feature! I searched "spysweeper" and "spy sweeper", and this original post DID NOT show up. This has been happening pretty frequently. SD mods: If you're reading this, please take this reply seriously. Would be a fraction of reposts if the site's search feature displayed accurate results.
Fellow SD members: Is there a place here to post this issue, to encourage the programmers to work on this (other than notifying mods)?

It's great that these are free, but I do have to comment that Webroot Spysweeper SUCKS. It is a massive resource hog. I am a computer tech for a school district, and refuse to install it on the 900 computers that I support. Of course the boss does not know this. Just thought I would give my 2 cents.

Yeah, because you're not using the ENTERPRISE VERSION for your school. Besides, if you have a good firewall and spam appliance for ENTERPRISE use, you wouldn't need this.
IMHO, this is the BEST spyware app, and you won't even notice how much crap it keeps off your PC before it even gets on there. Install it on an infested machine and watch it do it's work. Keep in mind, it's really designed for XP SP2 PC systems with at least 512mb of Ram, which should be anything decent that was sold in the last 3-4 years.

True. I still prefer to avoid spyware altogether. I haven't had any issues in at least 3 years. As long as you use a browser that is not IE and don't click on any/everything that pops up, you are good. I also delete nearly all forwarded emails. Since convincing my parents and brother to use Firefox, they have had far less issues.

Actually we were using an Enterprise version, and it sucked. It was on XP SP2 machines with a gig of ram. If you know better than to click on everything popping up on your screen and avoid forwarded chainemail crap you don't even need this software.

WTF? Are you dumb? Any reviews that put McAfee and Norton above AVG are retarded. Have you ever even loaded McAfee or Norton Security on your system? Did you notice your system come to a crawl? Did you notice everything moves like glue? AVG is very low on resources, automatically updates everyday with the new virus definitions, and is a good all around virus protection program IMO.
I've used the AVG free version for many many years. I've run Norton and McAfee ahead of AVG and AVG found the virus when the others didn't. The thing to know is that all of the different products build their virus files independently and there may be some differences so one will catch something when another wouldn't. I find it best to run different brands occasionally. You'll be surprised at what you find.

Correct. Remember this is a closed (ie. not available through our main website!) download for the magazine readers. As it has now been spread through the Internet, the server is constantly hit with over 100 people downloading at any one point during the day - I've had to set a limit on the number of users, for this reason.
Remember that our contract with Webroot and AVG does *not* include the facility to provide this download as a free download across the net (which is why it isn't promoted on our website - the URL printed is only available in the magazine) and it will be days before the registration pages are taken offline.
Remember when we did the Acronis True Image 7 free download? Acronis went ballistic and removed the promotion within two weeks of it going online. These aren't promos that are supposed to be 'free' to every Internet user.
BTW, if anyone has any bright ideas of how we provide a restricted/closed download (yes, we've thought about printing a coupon in the mag, but that would be leaked too) to only the magazine readers....let me know!

Bear in mind that our free version of Spy Sweeper does *not* include free product updates!
ie. when Spy Sweeper 6 comes out real soon now, you won't get that free with this version. So, if you already own SS 5, buy another license, as you'll get SS 6 free when it's released early in the new year.

I'll have to disagree. The Webroot server won't distinguish differences as long as you are registered and have the code... The program will automatically update itself (as well as alert you with update on program). I've been using Spy Sweeper for years.. it says it is only allowed to install on one computer but i have it on approx 6 computers and their system don't know different... so once you have it installed, you can update and upgrade to newer version when it is available...

you can actually download the new spy sweeper and during the installation, enter the NEW code to give it a new subcription expiration date... or you can uninstall it first before installing the new one.. either way works...

Sorry, but this version will not. It is encoded specifically not to update itself (that is stated on the Webroot activation page) and the code(s) supplied are only applicable to this product build.
You'll get SS 5.5 updates, but not a free update to v6 on release early near year. Believe me or not, but that's how the app has been produced.

You guys know that the virus scanning is virtually identical to the free version right? You get more options with the Professional version, but you then have to remember to re-up your subscription each year. I wonder how much longer it (free edition) will be available though, I don't even see it on their website anymore.
When I do system repairs for my friends, I see expired AV all the time. It's either that or they've downloaded trojans. Actual hardware issues are rare, not that they don't happen.
The free version has its own website

wow, this software is one hell of a resource hog. it's eating 50% of my cpu usage constantly on my old laptop.I'm guessing you're referring to Spy Sweeper (not AVG Pro).
If you have very limited resources (like a small memory), turn off Spy Sweeper's Resident Shield part (except if you're surfing 'dark' sites).
The other thing that can draw a lot of resources is if you're using another anti malware type program that also has a resident shield turned on. Generally, use only 1 resident shield to avoid conflicts that will slow your PC & use up resources.
It still pays with malware protection to have multiple programs installed (just not multiple shields turned on). Unlike AVs, there's no one anti malware that catches everything (signature wise or by heuristics). So it's good to use several to scan downloads you're unsure about, & to run scheduled or demand scans. Best to not run different scans at the same time as they'll significantly slow each other.

thanks for this, now can someone suggest me a nice free firewall? TIA.
If you have XP and want a very secure firewall then go with Online Armor. It has outstanding leak prevention as well as a very good HIPS component.
http://www.tallemu.com/online_armor_free.html
Comodo 2.4 and 3.0 is good as well. 2.4 is good against leak prevention while 3.0 has a HIPS built in, as well as leak prevention. 3.0 is also for Vista.
http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/
If you want a firewall that will not bug you much you can try either ZoneAlarm free version or Ghostwall. I would choose to not install the Ask toolbar that comes bundled with ZA.
http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/products/sku_list_za.jsp?dc=12bms&ctry=US&lang=en
http://www.ghostsecurity.com/ghostwall/
Otherwise, the best free firewall for you may be the one that comes with either XP SP2 or Vista. You can enhance either with add-ons. For a list of free firewalls as well as XP SP2 and Vista firewall add-ons see the link below-

I must admit I'm still using my cro-magnon spyware scanner (ad-aware se/free), but I generally know better than to run trojans. Other than a resident scanner, what do these things buy me? Between AVG, ZoneAlarm and Ad-Aware you have a full suite with nothing out of pocket.
I have 3 GB of RAM, and it really slows down my system. I have Spyware Doctor (got FAR from OD months ago) and scanned with both programs. Spyware Doctor found a lot more spyware than Spysweeper. If you are having Spysweeper slowing down your computer, keep an eye out for Spyware Doctor FAR, blows it away and uses less resources.

How come when I open up Spysweeper and press the update button it says that this version is not eligible for updates? You installed the download from the magazine site & didn't use the link that's on the Webroot site, so you received the limited version (that includes file updates but not program updates. Uninstall it & then download & install the full version. You should be able to enter your license #. If not just grab 1 or more years of new license numbers (it's cumalative).

Adaware was the original superstar but was long ago surpassed.
It's easy to stay virus free. Not as easy to stay 100% ahead of trojans even if you're a relatively safe surfer. Too many new exploits all the time. Rootkits, java problems, & even Google search results.
You're fine on the AV & Firewall side, but you definitely need more free anti-malware protection. In that area, no single program gets everything. Good to scan occasional with different products & run the resident shield in 1 of them.
Free contributors are Spybot S&D, AVG Antispyware (formerly EWIDO), & Windows Defender can be helpful too. Of course take advantage of the right deal on free years of Spy Sweeper. Script Defender is a good free low resource usage addition too (set & forget, no updates).

You can get AVG Pro & Webroot Spy Sweeper full versions with full updates each free with fast downloads (& definitely trojan free) from their respective publisher sites.

Bear in mind that it is illegal to use the same code within the legitimate version of AVG Pro 7.5, for every user. That code is designed to work with our version of AVG Pro 7.5 and we have a license to supply.
If everyone installs and uses that code, why don't you simply go to a torrent site and find a cracked version? Where's the difference?

ok folks, new info from me ;)
1) you should choose custom install, cos it will install ask.com toolbar if you don't :X
2) you can multiple register with the same email address -- i received a different key so.....
with each key is one year ;) and also one license, etc etcFrom reading posts I can see that most aren't reading through the thread for help & updated help including the important data in your post.
Simple English - you can get as many years of Spy Sweeper as you want!
After that (if you want), you can buy lifetime access to their bundle for $10 (includes Spy Sweeper. their AV, & their Firewall).

There's a very big difference. It's an AVG program & an AVG license that you're distributing. The license code works with AVG Pro no matter which legitimate source you download it from.
If you download a trial of AVG Pro from their own site, there's nothing that says you can't enter a legal license number. This is not "cracked"; it's their choice to not have a Unique ID like most software.
I see nothing that requires anyone to obtain the download from your site (that has capacity issues & though I think it's legit, not everyone trusts it).
If anything, your posts have seemed shady? You don't seem to object to SDers downloading from your site even though they didn't buy the magazine to perhaps qualify. You just seem to want the traffic & not have your download loaded onto any mirror / sharing site?
What are you gaining then? Do you get a commission when people do a standard install & include a crappy add on toolbar, And/Or do you get a commission (or other consideration) if people later buy a license renewal off your build?
Edit to Add - By the way, you threw the phony term "illegal". Cite the law & the jurisdictions in which it would hold & the exact specifics of how this law is broken by anyone.

Thanks for the SpySweeper! I love Webroot software; I use a special 'scanning' version at work to analyze computers for tech jobs, and that stuff finds junk that no other anti-spyware can.
I use Norton 360 myself, but I'll be running this in tandem for sure!
Note to others though: Spysweeper IS a resource hog, no doubt about it. As others have said, turn off the 'shield' option if you already have another anti-spyware or suite, don't let it start up with the PC, and run it once a week (or whatever you prefer).
EDIT: Damnit, I was going to install it and it said it doesn't work on 64-bit operating systems (I use Vista 64). *sigh* another good program that doesn't want to get with the times...

Cite the law & the jurisdictions in which it would hold & the exact specifics of how this law is broken by anyone.
Isn't it called Digital Rights Management (DRM) and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)?

Isn't it called Digital Rights Management (DRM) and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)?There are many laws. Calling out there name does not specify a violation or make something illegal.
Look at the recent Coupons Inc case as an example.

I have quickly scanned the forum for info. Maybe I missed the info that I am looking for. Where can I go to safely download AVG Pro without the necessity for a password? If a password is required, can you provide me with one? Thanks!

I hope you say this tongue in cheek. For starters, this promotion is for our magazine readers, NOT for the entire Internet. To say that we have 'capacity issues' when this promotion has now spread all over the Internet, is a major piss take. Have you tried serving thousands of requests for files - completely free of charge?
We're one of the biggest magazine publishers in Europe. See www.vnunet.com (check McAfee SiteAdvisor). How on earth can you even claim legitimacy issues?
Our AVG code is for our version of AVG Pro. By telling people that they can simply use the same code across different editions of the commercial AVG Pro, is effectively promoting piracy. I wouldn't feel comfortable using the same code that everyone else is using, particularly on my work computer.
Hell, Grisoft could even cease support for that serial code. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens. I'll speak to AVG and Webroot when they return to work on the 2nd of Jan.

Is the AVG Pro link no longer working? I've been trying to get through for 2 days, but keep getting, "The page cannot be displayed". I'll keep trying. I just don't want to waste my time, if the link is no longer working. TIA
Webroot needs its own thread !!! Come on MODS

I had no clue who Bo Bice was so had to look it up. I wasnt sure if it was an insult or not

I was finally able to get through a couple minutes ago. It's slow, but I'm fine with that. I'm just glad it's still available. As for the user ID & password issue, I had to abandon Opera & use IE for both programs. I was having the same problem. If you use Opera, you may want to try IE. I hope you get through soon.
