My dad is looking to buy a brand new Civic EX sedan for my sister. Whats the lowest price we can get?
He is also thinking of waiting for the next generation (when is that coming out?) and were not really in a hurry to buy one.
and how much does the SI go for? Coupe or Sedan 08-09
The current gen civic is from '06.
It has been a hot seller and got a mild refresh in spring, expect a new one next summer/fall.
Um, my source is my head, I am a automotive addict... :)
EDIT: Didn't realize I was a page off O_o

I'm not sure, I was watching the Celtics vs. Bulls Pregame show LOL
So I let my cousin, dad and sister negotiate.
I'm not sure if it was a drive out price or not but that's high compared to what you told me.

Chris,
I've gotten some quotes for a 2009 CR-V EX (2WD) near where I live, Southern California. The lowest offer I got was $21,752 which is without sales tax and lic. fees. Is this a good deal?

We just picked one up for $23,400 OTD, 6% tax and $430 doc fee. The price you got is similar to the price we paid.

Hi Chris,
Great information here. I'm very suddenly in the market for an Odyssey several months earlier than expected. I know I just missed the latest incentives that just ended a week or so back. Looks like the 2010 models are soon to arrive on the lots since they're now on the Honda website. Do you have any ideas about a new incentive to move the '09's?
Thanks in advance.

On any ody - 2009 or 2010 there will be no incentives coming out indeffinately....
Mainly because of supply - there are very few 09 Odysseys left, on top of the fact the 2010 models will be trickling in... it is now a supply and demand issue....and there really is no reason for them to be "rushed out"....so they wont be!
If you HAVE to have a new one - grab whatever remaining 2009 you can come across.....otherwise look for a good Certified Pre-Owned...

Ah that kills me to have missed saving a few thousand bucks by two weeks! There are still some 2009's around me (SF Bay Area) but no "great" deals. So if they won't be discounting the remaining 2009's when the 2010's start arriving shouldn't I just try to wait 'til then (assuming my car doesn't completely die beforehand)? I heard from one dealer they wouldn't arrive until September but I don't know whether to believe him or wonder if he's trying to get me to bite on a 2009 now.
What are your impressions of the Costco buying program? Are these "no-haggle" the best I can expect to do or should I use that quote as a starting place? I got quoted a Costco price of $31.2K for an EX-L with RES, which doesn't sound too slick to me.
Thanks again for all.

All that the Costco program can offer is just under or above Invoice - which is none too slick for sure.
The 2010 Odyssey went on sale today.....so I don't see how it will be until September before they have them....
Also, don't expect any Incentives on any truck line until September or October....
If I were you, I would go with the best possible deal I could find on an 09....or wait for a great deal on a Certified Pre-Owned....which there should be some hitting lots very soon....we have already have numerous 09 Ody Models with low miles we have sold as Honda CPO vehicles.

Press Release for 2010 Ody:
2010 Honda Odyssey Sets High Standard for Refinement and Versatility
Efficient and accommodating with a fun-to-drive character, the Odyssey offers something for the entire family
07/15/2009 - TORRANCE, Calif. -
The 2010 Honda Odyssey continues to stand apart from the minivan crowd with a reputation built on innovation, quality and engineering excellence.
The Odyssey's alignment of features like an engaging-to-drive character, a 3rd-Row Magic Seat®, a premium appearance and efficient engine performance combine to offer a sophisticated transportation environment with room for up to eight people (seven on LX models). The available 244-horsepower V-6 engine achieves an EPA highway fuel-economy rating1 of 25 miles per gallon (mpg) on models equipped with Variable Cylinder Management™ (VCM®), a system that can deactivate up to half of the engine's cylinders when less power is needed. Available premium features include a leather-trimmed interior, Honda Satellite-linked Navigation System, DVD rear entertainment system, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink™, a backup camera, power side-doors, power tailgate and much more.
"A minivan is tough to beat when it comes to carting your kids around or to moving the maximum number of people in maximum comfort and efficiency," said Vicki Poponi, assistant vice president of Product Planning for American Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Beyond the superior functionality inherent to a minivan, the Odyssey offers customers convenient seating versatility, a high-quality feel and a reputation for surprisingly engaging driving dynamics."
With its One-Motion 60/40 Split 3rd-Row Magic Seat®, the Odyssey's seating areas can quickly and easily adapt between passenger and cargo duties. The 3rd-Row Magic Seat can accommodate up to three passengers and still provide 38.4 cu-ft. of cargo volume behind the seats, or fold completely flat into the floor to create 91.1 cu-ft. of cargo volume while still maintaining room for five passengers (four passengers on LX). With the second-row seats removed, total cargo volume expands to 147.4 cu-ft. Total interior volume measures 209.8 cu-ft. for passenger and cargo volume combined. The unique 2nd-Row PlusOne Seat™ on the Odyssey EX, EX-L and Touring integrates a storage bin inside the seat structure and is also removable to create a walk-through to the third row.
The Odyssey achieves the highest crash safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, five stars, for both frontal and side impacts2.
All Odyssey models are equipped with Vehicle Stability Assist™ (VSA®), commonly referenced as electronic stability control; standard anti-lock brakes with electronic brake distribution and Brake Assist; advanced dual-stage, dual-threshold driver's and front passenger's SRS front airbags; front side airbags with passenger-side Occupant Position Detection System (OPDS); three-row side-curtain airbags with a rollover sensor; active front seat head restraints; daytime running lights and a pedestrian injury mitigation design in the front of the vehicle. An Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure provides enhanced occupant protection in a frontal collision.
Designed with families in mind, a total of three Lower Anchors and Tethers for CHildren (LATCH) child seat attachment systems are available. Two are located in the outboard second-row seating positions and one is located in the middle third-row seating position.
The 3.5-liter, all-aluminum, SOHC VTEC® engine on the Odyssey LX and EX produces 244 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 240 lb-ft. of torque at 5,000 rpm. The Odyssey LX and EX models achieve an EPA-rated city/highway fuel economy of 16/23 mpg 1. A 5-speed automatic transmission is standard equipment.
The Odyssey EX-L and Touring models feature a 3.5-liter, all-aluminum, SOHC i-VTEC® V-6 engine with VCM for enhanced fuel efficiency. This engine produces 244 horsepower at 5,700 rpm and 245 lb-ft. of torque at 4,900 rpm while achieving an EPA-rated city/highway fuel economy of 17/25 mpg 1. This VCM engine is programmed to run on 3, 4 or 6 cylinders, based on current power requirements. Powered by the intelligence of i-VTEC technology, VCM quickly and seamlessly activates or deactivates 2 or 3 cylinders by closing each cylinder's intake and exhaust valves at the same time. The system provides V-6 power when accelerating or climbing, as well as the fuel efficiency of a smaller engine while cruising.
An independent front and rear suspension and a rigid unit-body structure help provide comfortable and refined handling performance. Additional chassis components include power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes and variable power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. Odyssey LX, EX and EX-L models have 16-inch wheels (alloy on EX and above) with all-season 235/65R16 tires. Odyssey Touring models are equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and all-season 235/60R17 tires.
The Odyssey is available in four model choices (LX, EX, EX-L and Touring). Standard comfort and convenience features on the Odyssey LX include a front and rear air conditioning system with an air-filtration system, keyless entry, tilt and telescopic steering column, cruise control, power windows with auto-up/down driver's and passenger's window, power door and tailgate locks, AM/FM/CD stereo system with 4-speakers and auxiliary audio input jack, heat-rejecting glass and more.
The Odyssey EX adds a tri-zone automatic climate control system, an 8-way power driver's seat with lumbar support, power sliding doors, 2nd-Row PlusOne Seat™ with storage bin, 6-disc in-dash CD changer with 6-speakers, security system, body colored side mirrors and door handles, alloy wheels, roof rails, auto-off headlights, fog lights, exterior temperature indicator, HomeLink® remote system and more. Newly available on the Odyssey EX for 2010 is the Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System with 9-inch screen, which also adds a 115-volt power outlet.
The Odyssey EX-L adds leather-trimmed seating surfaces, heated front seats, power tailgate, 4-way power front-passenger's seat, XM Radio®3, power moonroof, automatic-dimming rearview mirror with a 2.5-inch rearview camera display (EX-L-exclusive). Available on the Odyssey EX-L is the Honda DVD Rear Entertainment System with 9-inch screen, which also adds a 115-volt power outlet. Available on the Odyssey EX-L equipped with the DVD rear entertainment system is the Honda Satellite-linked Navigation System with voice recognition and rearview camera (navi screen rearview camera display replaces rearview mirror display). Navigation-equipped models also include Bluetooth HandsFreeLink.
The Odyssey Touring includes all of the features from the Odyssey EX-L with the DVD rear entertainment system and the Honda Satellite-linked Navigation System as standard equipment plus the Premium Audio System with 7-speakers including subwoofer, a programmable multi-information display with trip computer, a two-position memory power driver's seat, power adjustable pedals, premium alloy wheels, corner and backup sensors, auto on/off headlights and a compass.
The Odyssey has won numerous awards and critical acclaim including the Kelley Blue Book award as one of the 10 "Best New Family Vehicles of 2009," and "2009 Best Resale Value Award" in the van category, which honors vehicles that are expected to have the best resale value after five years of ownership.

Press Release for 2010 Ody:
2010 Honda Odyssey Sets High Standard for Refinement and Versatility
.... yada, yada, yada ......
In other words, "We slapped a new paint job on it and raised the price a few hundred bucks!!"
Sorry to keep prattling on about this but I want to be sure I understand the reasoning. Are you recommending I grab an '09 at the best price I can now (or CPO) because I mentioned I'm "very suddenly in the market" or is there other factor?
I think my car can last a few months for a trade-in, but I don't want to wait much more than that. If Honda is slowing production and the number of 09's left/incoming is minimal, isn't that less incentive for them to make any deals? And if that's the case, aren't I better off waiting to buy the new model year at close to the same price (I'd think within $500?) Or since they went on sale already, as you mentioned, does that mean they're arriving any day and there will be no deals on them and *that's* the incentive fordiscounting the remaining '09 supply?
I think what you're saying is the '10's are here, they're not on sale, so get an '09 discounted while you can."
Thanks again for your help (and patience) - I really hate the car buying process! (I bought my last car through the late, great Carorder.com. Oh how I miss the free money days of the dotcom era!)

LOL!
What I am saying is:
" The 2010's are here.....there are few 2009's left - neither will have incentives or specials on them for a couple of months now....so if you NEED a Ody now....get an 09 as low as possible, or go after a CPO that has the features you want at a lower price"
If you DONT "need" an Ody right now....and can wait a couple or 3 months or so - then wait.....because there may be some specials going on at that time.
One good thing about buying an 09 right now is the fact that whatever mileage you put on it from now until the time you trade will look better when it comes time to trade it than that same amount of miles on a 2010 model.....
(You trade 5 model years from now or in 2013 - put 80k on either Van - and it looks like you averaged 13k a year on an 09 whereas it would be 16k a year on a 2010.....)
So get an 09 right now if you need it, or wait for a 2010 if you can hold off a few months.
In other words, "We slapped a new paint job on it and raised the price a few hundred bucks!!"

Ready to get a 2009 Honda Civic Lx 4dr Automatic Sedan in Los Angeles area.
The cheapest quote I got so far is
$16,232.00 + Fees
My family want to get a car alarm installed at the dealer (KARR), salesman saids the sticker price of the KARR alarm is $1490, and said he might be able to lower the price by just a few hundred. I wonder if I can get him to lower the KARR alarm to 500-ish? (I have no knowledge about how much KARR alarm cost, so I could be way off).
thanks

Hello,
I was wondering what the best price for new Honda Fit would be. I was the most basic version that comes with automatic trans. I will be turning in my 98 Isuzu Rodeo with the CFC program. I live in Tennessee. Also, does Honda have any discounts like Toyota does for recent college graduates? Do you know if any future incentives will be coming out for the 09's?
Thanks!

Anyone know if the price for the options you can add to a Honda (spoiler, fog lights, etc.) that they show on the honda site include installation?
I got an online quote from a dealer that quoted the options about $10 more than what the Honda website has them for MSRP.
Please help, I don't want to get suckered on this.
*Nevermind, I just read on their site that it does not include installation and are just estimates, dealer sets prices. But $100 over the website price? Is installation for interior illimunation and deck lid spoiler that much more

If you are interested...Here's my story...These are out-the-door prices including all fees and 7% sales tax...
Honda Odyssey EX-L
Before the C.A.R.S. program we could have bought the van for $29,300
Sold our 1997 Ford Expedition for $2000
Total out-of-pocket of $27,300.
After the C.A.R.S. program we bought the van for $32,755
Gave up our $2000 1997 Ford Expedition
Received $4700 total from the program
Total out of pocket $28,055.
So essentially we are out $755.00 but we don't have to hassle with selling the Expedition...No big deal.
Here is the real skinny on the deal...The manufactures/dealers were able to pad their profits an extra $4300, cost me $755, cost the American Tax Payer $4500, and sent a perfectly usable vehicle to the junk yard.
In the end, there are going to be a lot of people buying new cars that can't afford them, leading to a problem similar to the housing problem we are in right now. Government sticking their nose where it doesn't belong again.
Brilliant plan!!!!
C'est la vie....We really needed the van and now we have it.

Welcome to Obama Nation!!!
Keep in mind - the dealer didnt pad extra profit because there was no incentive money to the dealer - thats why you paid more for the Van than what you would have a month or 2 ago.....
A dealer can only discount a vehicle so much if there are no incentives involved!
On a side note however - because of the clunker snaffu....we have decided to longer participate in the program....too many headaches and hassles....
I received two quotes and was wondering if you could please let me know what you think of them.

Considering the prices of a new one - you may want to get them lower or go with a new 09 model....
I will PM you what we have the new ones for and you can use that as a benchmark

Hi CBondHonda,
2009 Honda Civic LX Sedan Automatic, $16,850 (incl all fees), before taxes and CFC voucher, zip code 68137 (Omaha, NE). Could I have gotten a lower price?
It's my first time ever negotiating a new car purchase.
I kind of rushed to the dealership Sat. night, 8/1 because of the uncertainty of the CFC remaining funds and the Senate vote during the following week.
Also, when I asked for an estimate of the scrap value of my clunker, they said it's $200 but it'll cost them more to dispose of it, so I got no reduction in final price from the scrap value. The rules I read from the official gov't website cars.gov told me otherwise. Am I being scammed here?
Thanks in advance for your help.

What do you think about the third gear problem in the 06-08 Civic Si. Is it a deal breaker? Ive heard the problem is intermittent, any suggestions for the test drive?

Hi CBondHonda,
How is $20,000 OTD for an 09 Honda Accord LX automatic? That's including california 9.75% sales tax.
Also, it's not a honda, but what's your personal opinion on a 06 Camry LE with 20,000 milies for $12,000?

Not at all - and it is no where near as big of a deal as what some have made it out to be....even though there have been issues - they have been taken care of or will be taken care of by Honda anyway.....I just think the 09's are better to go with since they have a lot more standard features after the MMC...(mid model Change) and they are priced really well right now....

Looks good on the accord - and for camry....yes I am heavily biased to honda....but even I think that toyota is just the new GM.....in fit and finish....reliability - residual value etc....
So try to find a certified used honda in that price range if you decide to go used.

Also - you will need to find out how they are doing the rebate - whether taking off the MSRP or a discounted selling price.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a 2009 Civic LX sedan. I am in the Bay Area (San Francisco, CA to be more exact). I am planning on buying it within 2 months. I was wondering what a good price would be for this car. Also, when would be a good time to buy- beginning/end of the month?- or does it even matter? And lastly, can you give me some buying/bargaining tips? I am a recent college grad, and I hope save as much as possible. Thanks for the help.

Two questions:
1) should I buy odyssey or pilot? Those are two only cars I like to buy one of them. Should I buy a car with DVD SYSTEM?
2) missed a deal by the end of June, I don't really need a new car now, I could wait to get one until the end of the year.

We're looking at 2009 Honda Fits and prefer manual transmission.
This is the quote we got for Costco pricing for the 93722 (Central California) zip code.
We last bought a new car 10 years ago (Toyota Camry) and spent all night at the dealer. We are considering the Costco Auto Buying price so that we can avoid the dealer pricing hassles. Is that a good decision? Or can we do better with a little more effort.
I know the Fit is in high demand, so there may not be much negotiation room on the price if we try to price it ourselves.
I also understand the price we are quoted below is not the "out the door price" and doesn't include taxes and fees.
What is a good estimate for extra fees (destination, floor mats, etc.).
***********************************************
Costco Pricing for a
2009 Honda Fit Manual Sport is as follows:
MSRP: $ 16,970
Costco Price: $ 16,720 plus taxes and fees
This pricing is $325 over invoice cost.
********************************************************
Also, is the Sport version worth the premium over the Base version when we want a manual? As far as I can tell, you get 16" Al wheels vs 15" steel, spoilers and extra body cladding for the price. We aren't getting A/T so the shifters aren't a factor.
We won't be trading in, and will be bringing our own financing.
I think that's it. Thanks for your help.

To answer your questions in order:
The Costco Program cant really do much for you on a Fit.....the prices of these have very little room to move...plus there just are not too many of them out there until dealers start getting the 2010 models in.....(we have been out of Fits for a month now)...and that wont be until October.
The best thing to do is use Edmunds.com preferred dealer program or Autobrag.com.....there you can make an offer without having to call any dealer directly....I use them a LOT.
Your area has higher taxes and fees usually than what we have here in Texas....but you can figure out what they should be by going to your local DMV website...then add your tax rate to that and you should be able to get pretty close to whatever the Drive out should be.

The Sport is in my opinion well worth the extra cost - for Cruise Control, Security System, USB Jack, Fog Lights, Better Stereo....etc....
So as long as the price you have there includes destination, and they dont have any crazy prep charges or 500 doc fees....you should be pretty close to about as low as it will go.
Good Luck!

On a lease - there are WAY too many factors that I dont have access to for your situation for me to honestly answer that.....
I would shop a selling price and get that fionalized first....then work lease numbers with whoever gave you the best selling price.
Also - keep in mind many incentives available right now do not qualify for the lease....
I will PM you a price range to shoot for....

Hi CBondHonda,
Long time lurker looking for help in getting a new car. I have extended my current Lease of 2007 Accord EX for 1 month (51,000 mi). The question is do I buy out the lease @ $14,367 or is it possible to get a good deal on a comparable 2009-2010 model. I also recently looked at the Camry and they have low financing options available.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It is never a good Idea to buy out your lease....even if it is a Honda you are leasing....(otherwise, what was the point of Leaseing to start with?)
If you plan to pay cash for the car (your balance owed paid in full without having to finance it) then that may be a different story....but whatever you do....DONT REFINANCE THE BALANCE.
Price Wise - there are some good deals on any 2009 Accords right now....plus the 09's are a completely different animal than the 07 you are used to driving....more features, more room, etc...
Now.... let me get on my soap box for a second....lol:
Toyota - in my opinion - when it comes to comparing a Camry to an Accord....a Carolla to a Civic....a Fit to a Yaris....or even a Rav 4 to a CRV....does not hold a CANDLE to what Honda can offer in reliability, Fit and Finish, quality of materials, resale value etc....
(yes I said Toyota is not as reliable anymore- becuase they aren't....ever since 2005, they have focused on numbers rather than quality - and it is starting to show....)
All of those specials will do nothing but hamper the resale value of the car down the road, like what is already happening to their SUV line...they have to have low APR Specials and crazy rebates to get the Camry to sell....even the malibu and Altima are ranked higher all around than what the Camry is.....
So comparing a Camry (that you MAY be able to get for a grand or so less) to an Accord now days just makes no sense to me....and since you have already had an Accord for a couple years...I welcome you to go drive the Camry and compare it to a new Accord....that way you can see for yourself how different they are and how much you hate the way the camry drives....being a Honda Owner.
Things to look at on the Camry:
1. How long the car takes to move when you push the gas...(forever...usually almost 2 seconds for it to respond!)
2. How CHEAP the materials inside the camry are....how bad the gaps are between those panels....how much they move and squeak...etc...
3. Dont compare MSRP to MSRP.....compare selling price to selling price with ALL standard features factored
(edmunds.com has a place you can compare any car to any Honda and see what the true cost to own is)
Toyota as a whole has done what they can to model themselves after the Big 3...and so far...they are doing a great job in becoming the Japanese version of GM....thats why they just closed the longest running Toyota Plant in the US...with more to come.
....off my soap box....
So all in all.....figure out which new Accord you would want (trim level) and let me know where you are located....and I will give you some price comps to work with.

Wow-Thanks for replying so quickly
I did notice the difference in quality of the interior with the Camry. I haven't driven the new Accord yet because I wasn't very excited about the design-but I can be convinced if the price and features are right.
My preference would be an 4 Cyl Automatic EX (without the fancy handles) but I could go with the LX-looks like the main difference is the roof, wheels and CD. I'm in the Tampa area 33559 specifically.
I plan on doing the Accord test drive this weekend.

The main differences in EX from the LX-P: (I personally own an EX that I added Leather too)
1.. Engine Size (190HP EX vs 177HP in the LX-P) along with better geared Transmission
2. Seat Fabric (EX is more Comfortable than the LX-P)
3. Power Drivers Seat with Lumbar
4. Better Stereo System
5. Sunroof
6. Wheels
For your area - try to find an 09 Model EX with less than 50 Miles or so on it (that way you know it is new) and check ur PM....for prices.

Hi CBondHonda, your just the guy I'm looking for. I been shopping around for a 06 and up used civic but it seems like all of them are scratched and beat up. Either that or its way too overpriced. So I am now in the market for a new civic. I live in brooklyn, ny and was wondering if you could give me a price range for a auto coupe civic ex and lx.
The cash for clunkers deal is over so I cant trade my car in anymore. Would they mark down the price since its over? Should I look for a 09 or a 10 model civic? How big is the price difference and resale value later on?
Thanks.

Thanks for your response to my previous post (#816). We've put off buying until we could look at the 2010 Fits. We'll check again to see what the current Costco pricing is (as you stated, there isn't much wiggle room on the Fits).
I haven't had a chance to search through all 800+ postings here so I hope my question hasn't been repeatedly answered, but, I was wondering what accessories are worth getting from the dealer and what are worth getting elsewhere and which are not worth getting at all.
We aren't particularly interested in getting any, if we can avoid it, but, maybe you have an opinion about which ones are really worth getting from the dealer.
We were looking at a Fit Sport Manual, but you had posted before that there are fewer of these around. Would that mean that there might be better deals on the Sport Autos (I know this depends on stock at the particular dealership).
Is there an advantage in going to the dealership near the end of the calendar month?
Thanks again for all the advice you're giving.

What are 2009 Odyssey LX & EX models going for these days?
Two years ago we bought a 2007 Odyssey LX for $22,000 + $218 T&L + $294 Security system installed = $22,515 total out the door. We should have paid $2500+/- more for an EX, but hindsight is 20/20. Assuming we can sell/trade the LX with 30,000 miles for what we owe on it, what can we expect to pay for a 2009 EX?

It really depends on what work you are having done...
Many minor issues can be done at the Honda Dealer....however it would be a case by case basis and solely up to the dealer in letting you know what work they are willing to do and at what cost.

We dont add anything to any Fits unless a customer specifically asks for some....so the way we do things and the way many other dealers do things is very different.
Many stores will add a lot of items to increase the profit margin on those cars....a great way to avoid this is put a deposit on an Incmoing vehicle and specifically tell them no add ons or no deal.
We do deposits here at 250.00 fully refundable and transferrable - however every store is different.
If there are certain items you want to add (like floor mats) then let them know up front to add only those items when the car arrives.
Price Wise....regardless of when you visit or how many they have....the discounts on Fits are usually the same across the board.....plus there are never any incentives on them - so no reason to wait for that either.
There really aren't any left....(I know we have not had any for a couple months now) so unless you are going for a Used one....there really is no way for me to honestly answer that.
Only 2010 Models are around from what I see.....and price wise, what the Edmunds TMV price shows is about where it stands.

CBondHonda-
I feel like I found a goldmine with someone like you to talk to. Thanks for all the info you share.
I'm buying a new Accord Coupe EX-L V6 and was look for some verification/advice. I've been negotiating via email with some local dealers and my best offer after some time has been basically invoice. $27,532 for a 2010. Doesn't get much better than that right?
One of my biggest concerns is, because they don't have my color for a few more weeks, they want a $500 deposit to reserve the car for me. How do I get our negotiated price locked in before I give them $500? I know I need to tell them 'no add-ons or no deal' but do I get that in writing or what?
Also what is the best financing rate I could expect on a 2010? Honda financing is only good for 2009 models. My credit score is 750+. I'll be going to a local credit union for pre-approval but any advice/suggestions would help.

Thanks for the Kind words!
For starters....whoever told you that the Special APR is for 2009 models only lied to you.....it is good with both 2009 and 2010 accord models across the board.
There are no Incentives on the 2010's.....but that is no big deal either.....with the APR you would have had to add that back anyway.
Price Wise - what you have there as long as destination is included is pretty good...but keep in mind a lot of that depends on your area.
Deposits are common place...but getting something in writing from them (if they are being honest) should be no problem....just ask....and make sure the deposit is refundable (in writing) as well.

I pulled that off of Honda's website. If it's good for 2010s that is great news for me. We're talking about 1.9% or 2.9% right? Is there an expiration date for their financing?

Chris,
So we all know that post-Cash for Clunkers, September was a tough month for your industry. An insights on upcoming incentives to spur sales before year end, or are they going to hold off until 2010 after the tax incentive goes away?
Thanks for being such a great resource.

Chris,

Thanks for being such a great resource.
Well....
For us - we have not had the same type of slow down that other Manufacturers or even dealers for that matter have....
We did not subscribe to the Clunker Deal for more than 7 Days....so we really didnt have an inflation or deflation of business based on that program. Mainly because of the Headaches involved....but also because we knew what would happen with inventory if we sold too many while it was going on. So now while everyone else has little to no inventory - we have plenty of vehicles and are still selling more new Honda's than anyone else in the state.
We also price our vehicles to a level that customers who are able to shop and purchase in our area find that our "One Simple Price" is usually better in most cases than anywhere else you are able to go and spend hours negotiating to get to.
Incentives are totally Manufacturer driven....and Honda uses them sparingly to protect the Honda-Buyers residual value down the road....while still providing that needed spark to sometimes convince a consumer that now is the time to purchase. The more "rebates" and so forth are used.....the more worthless the vehicle becomes 3-5-7 Years down the road...so as I advise to many of my customers....dont look for incentives now and base your purchase decision solely on that....only to find out 3-5 Years from now at trade in time your vehicle is worth 15% less than what it should have been.
The best thing to do when purchasing a car...is to first decide within what time frame you will purchase (Do not confuse this with how much time you are willing to look)
Set a specific Day you will buy your car.....whether that is Monday / Next Week / Next Month or next year.
Then find out what vehicles meet your lifestyle and driving needs from the top 5 Manufacturers you would consider purchasing from....narrow that down to what cars you would WANT to own for at least 5 years.....and then research the specs / standard features / residual values to narrow the list down to your top 3.
Once you have that top 3....spend the remaining time you have left until your "Buy Day" deciding what dealers you are willing to purchase from (take price out of this equation....only go with who you would want to do business with)
Then see who of those dealers are willing to give you the best deal for what you want.....and dont be scared to drive 3 Hours to get a deal you are satisfied with.
If you stick to that mindframe, your car purchase will be a much more enjoyable event rather than a dreadful experience.
Always looking for the "next incentive" or "hoping the price drops next month" will drive you and whatever Sales PROFESSIONALS (there is a difference between them and a salesperson) you are working with absolutely batty.....I know I have personally seen all too often many of my customers who will take every ounce of advice I give them until the day I call and say "this is as good as it gets"......then they don't believe me or hope the grass will be greener next month only to find out it isn't and won't be for some time.
To sum it all up.....75% of getting a deal you will be happy with and will not regret 3 Months or 3 Years down the road is knowing what one is when you see it and taking advantage of it right then!

Nevermind - it is nation wide....
And it runs through the 2nd of November form what we have been told.

Back in July I paid $16,150 for a '09 Honda Fit Sport manual with all weather floor mats plus tax & title, and this was at the beginning of CASH FOR CLUNKERS and right after I signed that deal another dealer e-mailed me a price of $16,100. The 2010's have a price increase of $160 so I think you can do better than what you've been told! Oh yeah, I'm in Ohio by the way, good luck.

Thanks for the info. I think it will be hard to get in the low $16s with the Fit Sport manual in Calif -- unless the dealership needs to move stock towards the end of the month (Is that a good strategy: drop in around the last couple of days of the month, or the last weekend?)
I think I looked at FitFreak before and found some good tips.
We're now going back and forth between manual and auto. We were really interested in manual because we're used to driving manual (even have a manual Camry).
The only thing that concerns me is the higher engine revs at highway speeds in the manual. It seems that the manual revs significantly higher than the auto, and this does ding the highway mileage a couple MPG.
What do you all think about this? Is this significant? I'd rather have a manual, but my wife would prefer an auto for those couple of times a year we're in San Francisco approaching a stop sign at the top of a hill.
As for previous suggestions to make this thread a sticky ... I'm all for it. In terms of posts and visitors, it's one of the most popular threads.
You can set it as your own sticky by using the thread tools function on the right.

For starters....what Happened for 2009 Models during the Clunker Program has no bearing on what is going on right now for 2010 model Fits.
Because of the backlog of Fit Orders....now that dealers are getting Fits again....they are being sold pretty quickly and many have a Deposit on ones that are incoming.
In any Manual Car you buy now days - especially on a Honda - the Manual will usually always be rated a little lower in MPG's than the Auto because the Auto Trans Honda's have now are close to perfect when it comes to how they shift and when....however I only drive Manual as well....and I will always prefer a little higher Revs and Torque than 1 or 2 MPG's any day.
Expect a 200 to 400 Discount from MSRP for any Fit Model for the extended Future...until supplies build back up and demand is lower.
What type of interest rate could I expect for financing a CR-V through the dealer? We have the money to pay for the car in full and had planned on doing that, but Id prefer to have the money sitting getting 4% and have a loan at a lower rate.

i'm not sure there are any incentives for financing a 2010 CRV, but you can check. My sis bought an 09 crv leftover last week, and when we asked about financing, there were no compelling deals for an 09 or a 10. but that was in october, in mass.

Hello to all the SD'ers out there!
I just wanted to say thank you to all of my Past, Present and Future Customers as well as my fellow Sales Professionals here who have helped me as well as Gunn Honda get through this trying year of 2009 in great form!
If it were not for many teams of people and great customers like what I have had the pleasure to meet and continue to work with over the past troublesome 18 Months, we would not have been as successfull as we have been in this current Economic Climate.
I hope that everyone I have met here through Slickdeals has benefited from whatever info and advice I have been able to provide.....just keep those questions coming! I will continue to provide any details I can here for anyone nationwide interested in purchasing a Honda vehicle thorugh 2010 and Beyond.....especially for those of you who can't purchase directly from me because of timing or distance from us.
After everything, I had a personally great year - it could have certainly been better, but it could have just as easily been much worse.
I will be updating everyone - once the dust settles and we get our final numbers back from Honda - on where we as a Dealership stand for the Honda Presidents Award...and for where I stand on Council of Sales.
I think that 2010 will be a great year....and I hope it will be for everyone here - from all of the Honda Enthusiats to those like myself who are fortunate enough to be able to sell these Great Vehicles from American Honda!
Have a Great 2010!

Hello! I hope you still monitor this thread!
I'm in the market for a new 2010 Honda Element. After an email barrage and a round of bidding, I have most of the 6 dealers down to about these prices:
LX- ~21k out the door
EX-~23k out the door
Both vehicles are 2wd. These are basically invoice + dealer fee. Here are my questions:
1-Seem like a good deal?
2-Should I wait and try to get them lower? This is a popular vehicle, and many don't even have it on lot. I feel lucky to be anywhere NEAR invoice.
3-In your opinion, is the EX package worth the additional $2,000 over the LX
4-Are you aware of any common modifications to give this beast a bit more power (intake, etc?)
Thank you for the valuable information you provide!!

I certainly do!
If those are Drive Out prices with all taxes and fees considered....I would have to say it looks pretty good to me depending on your tax rate.
Production was slowed on these - hence the reason not many have very many.
EX is well worth it in my opinion....
Not much in the way of mods unless you are willing to forgo warranty coverage - if that is the case, then yes I can show you websites where everything from CAI's to Superchargers are available...lol

Yeah, that includes taxes, title, tag, destination fee, everything. The final price we agreed upon was:

$21,600.00 $657.00 $74.00 $398 $22,729
I'm not trying to gloat, but I can't seem to find ANYONE online saying they got an 2010 EX for this low. Am I correct in assuming I did about as well as possible on a vehicle that is easily selling out at sticker price?

Ours are going for the same prices - but our tax rate here in Texas is a little higher than yours....so the Drive Out is a little higher.
Overall - It is rare to see many dealers selling these for as low as we do....so I would have to say that is a pretty slick deal....lol

Wow, people around you are lucky then! When I went through the AMEX buyer's program, it showed that price as one in the top 5% of guaranteed prices in the country.
So, that leads me to another question:
This is what I was told"
Most customers feel uncomfortable in the buying process because of a lack of information on the part of the consumer. I'm going to give you some information most customers aren't able to "negotiate" with in the traditional sense and should you choose to utilize our services as a dealership it would be much appreciated. Hopefully the time invested on our end and serviced you've recieved is also sufficient help your decision be swayed. The true cost of this product for any dealership is 21,439 prior to tax title and documentation. Assuming I pay gas and the driver 100 dollars when locating this car my cost would hover around 21,539. At this point if you have no restrictions on mileage, color or additional accessories that the other dealerships may have there is a good possibility I can get that vehicle for you and would only charge you 21,600 prior to tax, title and documentation fee which accounts for a total profit of 61 dollars. Any price lower then 21,439 is just not possible unless a company is willing to loose money which given our volume we don't have to do. Let me know if you'd like to move forward at that price and we'll start this process as soon as possible. Thank you in advance.
So is he just full of it, are you selling at a loss or near loss, or is there a third option I'm not aware of?
Thanks again CB. This stuff is fascinating to me!

That is absolutely correct. A volume dealer works on much lower margins - and in many cases will sell a car at or close to actual cost just to move the unit....we work the same way....but with a dealership like mine - that does not negotiate our prices - we HAVE to be better than anyone else around because we dont have price to play with.
That combined with great customer service insures we stay at the top of the list in sales for our area, and we also create longer term customer relationships....whcih in turn creates more future business.
So not only does the customer get a great deal - the whole process is much easier for both parties, and you have more room to add things to the vehicle than what you would have had elsewhere.
Thats what makes it easy to retain "Customers for Life" as we like to say at our store.

The dealer didn't have a carfax but he provided an autocheck report which was good. The overall score was a 93. Do I need a carfax also?
No accidents, liens, etc. Previous owner was a dentist with 3 kids who purchased the car in Sept. '07 and traded it in last month for a larger vehicle.

I'm in Baltimore and have my eye on a 2010 Odyssey EX-L with RES and Nav. Best price I can find in the area is $33,768 plus tax/tags. I got that price from dealer 1, and dealer 2 told me he could not and would not match/beat it because he'd "only be making $300 profit." The fact another dealer won't touch it lead me to think it might not be too shabby a deal for this model/specs.

Not really....at a negotiating store anyway. When you pay cash - you are actually decreasing the possible profit margin of whatever dealership you are buying from....so although it may be an easier transaction for you....that doesnt mean they will give you a better deal.
For some dealers....the price may actually be higher!

Depending on your tax rate - seems kind of average to me.

Sweet! We paid $950 for a Lxi with 150,000 miles. We've had it a week and so far the only problem is that the windshield wiper fluid doesn't come out and the car has had a few problem starting if it hasn't been started that day. We're getting it checked out tomorrow.

The insight lease currently going on is one of the best I have seen of any Honda Model....and keep in mind that the website does not factor taxes / dmv fees or Doc into that featured lease....so although it say 0 out of pocket, you would still need to come up with taxes and fees down.
The EX is the same or better as the LX....but make sure you negotiate the lowest price on the car first....then turn that around and ask about the lease.
Going to PM you some info I sent to a customer earlier in the month regarding the Insight lease on an EX at the prices we are selling them for!

Need a bit more info....
For starters....Where are you located?
This is a lease I presume? If so....are there any turn in fees or charges at the end of the lease?
Any trade or cash down involved other than the "bank" fees and TTL?
Also....what is the initial selling price of the vehicle - before taxes and fees?
Lastly....how much are they quoting you as total down (all taxes, fees) and where does your credit stand?

I am in Long Island, NY. That info comes from an advertisement that I saw in the newspaper. It is the only info available. I am going to the dealer tomorrow morning.
No trade, no cash down other than $595 bank fee, & TTL according to the ad. I do not know what they are pricing the vehicle at, there is only the MSRP on the ad.
My credit is excellent, I will have no problem qualifying for top tier financing.

Great Thread and CB has given some great advice. My question is about an Acura but as I just learned Acura leases and Honda leases are basically the same so I hope you can guide me on this one.
I have a 2007 Acura TSX with Navi. Lease term expires May 1st and payoff is $18,456+7% sales tax in Bridgewater, New Jersey. Mileage is 26K and expect it to be no more than 28K before lease termination. Mileage allowance is 36,000 (1,000 miles/month).
My wife and I love this car and it's in pristine condition and added some accessories including the gold badging the interior wood grain trim. Yesterday, I learned that Honda has a lease extension option and I'm strongly considering extending my lease. My payment is $364.05 and sales tax in NJ is collected in advance (so if I do extension one for 6 months I would owe 6 x $25.48 to the State of NJ) and non-refundable. I'm currently unemployed so doing a new lease or getting financing for a new vehicle is unlikely. However, I could scrape together the cash to purchase it in a lump sum but would have to have a very good reason to do so.
Any advice for end of lease options would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest that you also contact Costco Honda's dealers to see what they offer on their pricing. most likely will be Klein and kirkland. Also try Carsdirect.com's pricing.
Buying in Oregon, when you get it back to Seattle, you'll still have to pay WA tax when you register the car at the DMV. So keep that in mind. Your tax should be based on your county tax rate i believe. Tags, I think will be the close if not the same as what you are quoted by your local dealer. Also doc fees are negotiable so when they quote you $150 try to negotiate that to 50-100. if they say that's not negotiable and that they have ladies in the back that does paperwork that needs to get paid, WALK Away. It's fully negotiable and the law was written so that they can't lie to you about that. Google the car doc fee law in WA. It'll anger you why they raised it.

has anybody used the costco auto buying service?
Contacted like 12 of their dealers when helping someone buy a car. not all the dealers have the same negotiated price. Some dealers are $200 over invoice other $500, one was $300 under invoice. Interesting isn't it. useful service with hassel free buying but not the cheapest price.
Also, Cars direct ppl were close in price to Costco. Also check on Edmunds.com's prices paid post to see what the lowest price ppl are paying for your car. Get within $200-500 of the lowest paid price and consider that a good deal.
Email the dealers for agreed upon price for your car to all the auth dealers in your area and some further away that you would be willing to drive to. The quotes are free so no reason not to.
I used an Alternate email for Costco and alternate email for Carsdirect for privacy. I had one dealer who was both costco and carsdirect.

Not sure how dealers are up there - but Costco Pricing only gurantees 1% over Invoice....and there are WAY too many incentives going on right now to settle for that.
In all aspects - it is actually better to negotiate the deal yourself rather than going through a buying program like that.....because on 75% of the situations, they will end up COSTING you more money that you could have negotiated down to on your own.
Many dealers welcome the costco pricing just because they know you as the consumer will THINK you are getting a good deal, however they as the dealer know you could have done better.
Also - ANY dealer can take car of the out of state title and taxing for you - and included those taxes and fees in the deal to keep you from having to run around and do that yourself.
I sell on average 5-7 cars per month that are from out of state buyers....and I always take care of title / taxes/ registration for them.
If you want real benchmarks on where a Honda vehicle you are interested in should be priced....your best resource is .....ME. :)

The worst thing to do on a lease - money-wise - is to purchase it at term end....unless you absolutley HAVE TO. Otherwise you not only will have negated the benefits of the lease, but you high grossed yourself on what you will pay.
Extend it until you get employed and are able to purchase again - buy yourself some time...or turn it in and buy a cash car elsewhere until you get back on your feet.

Hi, I live in MA. I am interested in buying an SUV. I am looking at 2010 Honda Pilot EX-L (Leather, Moonroof, other standard features). The dealer has quoted @32,815. I have a trade-in for around $1500 (could take it up to #2000). The dealer is also offering 2.9% financing for 60months. Is this a good deal?
The only other optional features that I definately would want to include are all weather mats and side step.
The other SUV's that I test drove are: Mazda CX-9, GMC Acadia, Hyndai Veracruz, Nissan Pathfinder. Of these I really liked Acadia but its coming out to be too expensive.
Read the reviews for Mazda CX-9 and found that it has car seat heating problem.
So finally narrowed it down to Honda pilot (seems to the logical choice in terms of investment and resale value).
Thanks in advance.

Thanks..so it's a good deal even after spending 1k on the belt and pump?
well....I would rather buy a car with that kind of mileage having already had that done....and maybe even split the difference with them and get an extra 500.00 off.

The pilot is better in all aspects when comparing car for the money - that is certain.
Price Wise....is that the selling or Drive Out price you have there?
If it is drive out including the trade - then looks good - if that is just the car price, then not so much.

I am not sure I follow .....$32,815 is just the car price (excluding the trade). If I include the trade (of lets say $2000) then it should come down to $30,815 (+ofcourse the tax + ttl + docs).
You mentioned if its just the car price then its not good...how so?

PM ing you price quote for what we are selling same vehicle for - destination included.
(MSRP is 34,555.00 destination included....so 32,815.00 is only 1700.00 off MSRP)

My tax rate is a little heftier (8.75%) and I've got them down to $25900. Still about $100 off I figure. What do you think ?

You mentioned that Costco Autoprogram was not advantageous other than for not having to haggle. Would you say the same for USAA car program as well? Or does it have more perks than say costco or American Express programs? Thanks!
Also looking at an Odyssey for hauling around the kids, in general do these hold up well when bought used or better to go new if we can afford it?

USAA almost mirrors the Costco program....so I would have to say my opinions are the same for both.
Odyssey's in my opinion hold up better than most any other Van - not just mechanically but in terms of resale value as well....as long as the previous owners took care of it.
If you want to save 2-4k and go with a Certified Used....I would advise doing so. I will be going that route personally here in a year or so....and always try to buy Certified Used when it comes time for me to purchase something.

CONGRATS to SD'r " mkl " by the way - she just picked up a nice new 2010 Fit Sport from us on Saturday!
As long as Carfax checks out - and the timing belt has been serviced - I would say it looks good to me!
If the TBelt has NOT been done - you will need to get that serviced quickly...and it should run you around 1k or so to do that and the Water Pump at the same time.
Dude...I just did some research. There's no timing belt on this car. Only on the V6 model. Maybe I didnt specify. I have the 4-cyl

Yes should be fine - at that age and mileage they are only 500 to 750 different in value anyway.

Every time we get a new one in - it lasts maybe 2 or 3 days....we have 30+ salespeople here - and I would bet half of us have at least 1 or 2 people interested in buying one.

Hi, CBondHonda,
I am ready to buy 2010 Honda Odyssey and have a difficult time to decide between EX or EX-L model. EX-L has a quieter engine and gives 2 more miles/Gal. Which one would you recommend?
What is a fair price for both models before adding TTL and doc fee?
Thanks very much!

Sending you a PM for prices here in SATX....but when it comes to features for the money....the EXL wins hands down.
Also - keep in mind we will have the new 2011 redesign by the fall....completely new Van....so you can either purchase now at a great discount, or wait until the new one comes out and get the newest features for a higher price.
Either way is a win....but car for the Money....EXL is the way to go.

Hi Chris,
I wish I knew about the existence of this thread sooner before my dad purchased his 09 civic back then. Now I'm looking to buy a new 2010 Civic LX-S for myself. The dealer here in Atlanta shot me a quote of $16299 including mud guards and nitrogen gas in tires. So with T/T and docs fee it should be around $181xx. Do you think this is a good deal?
Thank you.

Look at the PM I sent and you will see what I mean....we have a 6.25% tax rate here and my driveout is lower using that price they quoted.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
As used honda civic deals were expensive, I was looking at new honda civic 4dr lx automatic quotes.
In NY metro area I got this one:
2010 Honda Civic 4 dr. LX. Automatic- $16500+ 8.75% tax +250 Document fee+ Title and registration.
With OTD $18443
I am paying in cash, no financing from the dealer.
Dealer was saying $1000 dollar dealer discount was included in this price.
Do you think it's a good deal? I am really confused, as some buyers from Maryland area got deals for $15500+tax,title regi and dealer fees.(Source: Edmunds forum)
Thank you.

from my personal experience (98 v6 coupe) they have known transmission problems so just be weary of that
but otherwise it seems like an ok deal - I sold my 98 back in 06 for $4200 with 130k, so there may be better deals out there

As a second point, I'm looking to buy another Accord (98-02, 4cyl, coupe) or a Prelude (97-01) - both seem very comparable in terms of mpg and insurance rates - any input on what is the better choice? It would help to know if these are being sold by a honda dealer, are Honda certified or Just Dealer Certified or Not....and if you have already checked out the vehicle history by using carfax or something like it.
When it comes to used cars - no 2 are the same - and Condition, Previous Driver, where it was located and how it was used all play into getting a good deal on one.
All of those numbers look great however - especially if they are all Honda Certified and all checks out good on the CarFax.
The ones that are NOT certified but are being sold by a Honda dealer would worry me as to why they are not being sold as such.

Keep in mind that most people who post on Edmunds forums are full of it....I have been watching those forums and even posted on them for years....and they finally got to the point where I became completely fed up with what is allowed by the moderators...especially for people like me who KNOW for a FACT there is no possible way some of the posted buying prices could be realistic....so either the posters were not giving all of the info about the deal or were just lying.
Its funny how people always say they paid less than what they really did on a car - and more than what they really did on a house....lol
Otherwise - to stop my rant - the LX new price you have there is in line with where the best deals are....
Are there new incentives coming out in April? My best quote is 33,800 or 34,000 even OTD.
All specials run to May....from what we hear anyway.

Sure - but keep in mind the Timing belt and water pump are due to be changed out again with that milage...if they have not already been.
Unless a recent extensive service has been done - expect to spend another 1k to 1.4k in giving it a good complete service before you can drive it another 100k with no worries.

If the trans is still going with 170k on it - then it either never had the problem or was fixed long ago.
Locating a Prelude is like hunting a Unicorn.
Every one we get in that is in decent condition - I usually buy it. In fact - I just signed papers on a 2000 Prelude Base with only 69k miles I have been trying to get an aquaintence of mine to trade in for going on two years. (Part of the reason I was off for a couple days - I was out enjoying my new car and putting some nice new rims and leather in it)
I have had 5 of them....I use them as my daily driver - and car for the money it is hard to beat. The problem lies with locating one that has not been ragged out and has been maintained properly.
If you do find one - keep in mind it will burn a quart of oil about every 1-3k miles you drive (minimum)......it is not a problem - its just an issue that those H22A motors have. It is a mostly bullet proof vehicle though....and great fun to drive.
Gas Mileage - even if you drive them like I do.....should be around 23-25MPG Combined.

Hey, I have access to EPP pricing. two questions:
Is it better (possible) to get a better price on the trade by not disclosing that I have EPP pricing, and negotiating the trade-in quote higher, and then getting a better price on the new car, or will the EPP make them re-evaluate the used car price?
Second, is it possible to get lower price than EPP through tough negotiating?
Thanks!

For Starters....what is EPP?
Everytime I hear of someone getting quotes thru a buying program like Costco or the like, the best those programs are ever able to offer are just above invoice....not matter what car make. With the deals going on right now....you can do better on your own.
Just get a solid low number on the car you want - then do the same with the trade. Shop those 2 nunbers around in your area - and go with whoever gives you the lowest driveout price for both of those things considered.

Is it brand new, a Demo Unit, Used or Certified Used?
Sounds a little low to be a new car with THAT much in actual honda accessories added with all taxes and fees combined and still be able to get the warranty as well for that price.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new job in Finance! Hopefully I'm not too late asking a question...
We have been looking for a natural gas vehicle. We started looking at 03/-4 Chevy Cavaliers and are now looking at Honda Civic GXs.
Have been communicating with a private seller regarding a 2008 Honda Civic GX with 100 miles. It has basically been garaged for past year.
Seller is offering to sell for 17,500 (does not includes taxes, title, licensing). Seller has offered to purchase new battery and will pay for shipping of car to our state. Car is in Northwest. We are in Utah.
We cannot take federal tax credit as seller was original owner. But we can take Utah St Tax Credit of $2500.
We are seriously considering this offer.
Any advice? Thank you.

EPP = Employee Purchase Program
Different corporations offer discounts to employees of other corporations just for being an employee.

Hello,
Congratulations on your new job in Finance! Hopefully I'm not too late asking a question...
We have been looking for a natural gas vehicle. We started looking at 03/-4 Chevy Cavaliers and are now looking at Honda Civic GXs.

I'm sorry, but I would not take that deal, add on another K and you got yourself a new car. Now, I may be biased, because I'm not one to buy a used car, but I find at that price, ur better off buying new. And, you cannot beat the feeling of driving your new car off the lot, well except for a few things I can think of, but I think you see the point.

in purchasing cars, i have found edumonds town talk forums to be the best in comparing prices.. many people from many regions report what they are currently paying for cars.
if you're looking for a 2010, waiting until later in the summer would probably be the best time to get the best deal as newer models arrive, but now is a good time to be doing research

After a successful run in the Finance side of things - I have now been transferred to the Domestic Side of our AutoGroup to help get the Internet Department up and moving like I did with the Honda store....so I will now be converting this thread to a GM Specific line....offering the same advice and answers like what I did with Honda Products.
Its good to be back - and hello to everyone!

Just letting everyone know that there are numerous incentives available right now - including 1000.00 in owner loyalty money if you currently own (in your household) a GM product that is a 1999 or later - even if you are not trading it in!

So the rebate is only for 1999 and new GM cars? Any things available for people with older GM cars? :)

That is correct - throu the 28th....but nothing on the books for anything else so far in regards to older than 1999 GM Vehicles. Will keep posted when and if anything does change.
