I hate having to log in after every time I close my browser and reopen it. Can the website administrators make it so I can stay logged in for weeks at a time?

if your browser saves cookies you'll be fine. check any programs you have running/settings you have that delete cookies after closing the browser.

yeah, so long as your browser is set to accept cookies, you can stay logged in until some computer misshap logs you out! If you use a lengthy and complex password, I do recoomend you write it down somehwere so you don't have to go thru the changeover process if you do get logged out.

I hope I am posting in the correct place so as not to be chastised.
I am having a similar issue:
I log in and check the 'remember me' button. I am logged in without issue. But, I am having to continuously log in repeatedly. Could anyone suggest why this is happening? I would think it was a 'cookie' issue but in my (limited) experience, I would have thought that would prevent the recognition of the initial log in.

Are you having to log in each time you open your browser? If so, you've got a setting set somewhere that clears cookies when you close the browser. What browser are you using?

I found that I had sometime in the past blocked cookies from SD. I removed that block and then allowed them and now I am no longer having the issue. I found it odd, though, that if the site requires cookies it will still allow you to sign in without them. You just have to keep signing in every time you want to post.

This is normal behavior, since if your browser doesn't accept cookies, it still supports sessions, which are a much shorter lived version of a cookie, and is stored in your PC memory rather than on the hard drive (which is true cookies). Sessions are reset every time you completely close the browser :).
