Rep Point Green / Gray boxes?

As Ricky would say....please 'splain....

i went to "user cp" to check out my rep points. the two newest rep points i received have a gray box next to them while all the others have green. does that mean the gray is still waiting for approval or something? let me know. thanks.

my best guess is its because the members are still new, to prevent people from signing up and giving themselves rep.

the other floating idea is people who have turned off their rep, but i'm pretty sure so many reps wouldn't be grey if that's the case.

Um, could it be the "online" indicator? Green is logged in, gray is not logged in just like the logged in dot in our postings?
Just a thought. Arjunser, I don't follow your thought- not that it's important, I have grays and greens in mine too, as long as they are there is all I want to know :>

if you count your points, you'll see the grey don't count towards your rep total.

well, ive figured out the the greys dont count toward your rep point total. i dont think its fair, i think once the people who gave you the rep points earn more recognition, the greys should be turned to greens....hmmm

You mean so someone doesn't make a new username and give themself a rep points with that simply to boost their rep points.

I understand the logic- would be nice to know they will convert to green in the future.

In my experience, I've gotten 2 reps from noobs and both of them were grey, after I got the second grey rep it added to my total... I think 2 greys equal one Green and 2 Greens equal one xxxx (whatever color a rep is that a mod gives you).

I think they do count. But I wouldn't know 100% without seeing & counting all of the rep. points I've recieved.

I don't think that the grey boxes count. I remember having a rep of 16. I had 3 green boxes one green from a mod and one grey box.

I have 3 reps in my CP and when I got bumped to 11, I went and checked it out. That's when I saw i had 2 grey ones. One was from Gorgar who wasn't being all that nice but I don't know if he was serious or not and one that didn't have a comment.

Hmm. ive never had the various "grey" rep points ive recieved counted toward my rep point number...IMO, after the peson has earned the status of a "green" rep point giver, the grey points should be turned into green points so they add to your rep. #
