Hello Slickdealers! The latest addition to our website is a blog. We’ll be using it to post site updates, reviews and anything else that we’d like to share with you! Look out for a laptop giveaway in the coming weeks. The very first article will be a review of the <a href="http://blog.slickdeals.net/index.php/2008/07/10/dell-inspiron-1525-notebook-review/">Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop</a> written by our moderator SP33DFR34K.

We're also introducing a new theme with the blog. If you guys like it, we'll make it into a full blown theme for the entire site. What do you think? As always, we welcome your feedback.

If you guys don't like the look of the classic then you have the option of not using it...for some of us it means the difference between having migraines or not.

If it's deleted then that just helps me spend less time here.

EDIT: Can regular users contribute to the Blog? Say I have a really good review to contribute. Is it anything like Epinions, where we can share detailed (meaningful, not just simple) reviews of products?

We may consider that in the future. Right now the blog is for mods and staff only, but really we want to use it as another avenue to communicate with the public. We want to use it to feature things like news articles, bargain hunting tips, site updates, and even let you get to know the staff better.

Certainly, however, you can recommend topics for us and we would certainly think about posting it :)

Pretty random i think. Mods will review whatever they feel like reviewing -- most likely things that have been featured on slickdeals before, or whatever we can get our hands onto :)

i like the theme (and blog) but this monitor doesn't have good contrast so the white txt on black background on the front page is hard to read (I had to highlight...i hate having to highlight stuff to read and thus usually just skip it)
