I was wondering if anyone had come across some good deals on radon, carbon monoxide, natural gas, etc..... detectors. I'm specifically looking for a Radon detector that I can mount in my basement. I am about to install a sump pump and this can be a problem in the Midwest.

Rather than dropping $20 or so for a single test, I would rather get one that will keep my basement monitored at all times. We plan to finish the basement and this would be a great asset. There are a few on Amazon for around $120. I would think there are rebates of some sort from the government, but I can't find anything. I appreciate any ideas or advice. Thanks!

Guys, I searched for a while and ended up spending the $120 from an Amazon seller (http://www.amazon.com/Safety-Siren-Radon-Detectors-Evaluated/dp/B000CEAY64). I searched pricegrabber, slickdeals, FW, and others, I did not find it cheaper than 119.99. The only way you might get it cheaper if cashback comes back for ebay. I figure with no tax and free shipping, it is not that bad of a deal.

My sump pump is over 10 years old, so I figure I should replace it before it breaks and ruins my finished basement. Any recommendations? I want to keep the pump and switch separate so I can replace the switch easily.

Thanks.

I found a good deal on two radon test kits a while back before I had to finish my basement. Contact info for the company and submission forms for the kits are attached. Keep in mind this includes both the kit AND the testing analysis. The kits at Home Depot you buy require an additional $30-$45 test charge.
