Yep, I kind of agree BUT.......usually I don't do any surveys whatever unless they pay me or I know it's going to lead to a PT, however I make an exception for the Yale lottery ones as their odds of winning are clearly spelled out, unlike most of the other lottery type at other places, as well as a pretty accurate estimate of the time needed to take a particular survey. That way I can choose to do only the ones that are under 5 minutes ( usually only do those that are under 3 minutes actually ) and have a one in 30 chance of winning at least. I have won at least 6 times from them, too over the past year to year and a half or so, and a total of around $200 or more.

I only do them when I'm bored, too. :nod:

The thing with these university ones is, I generally like them. Unlike a lot of the commercial survey sites, I find these to be fun and less tedious. And they're usually so quick. Like I just did one for Yale that was only 2 minutes. Sure it's a long shot to win $10, 1/50 chance, but it was only 2 minutes.

I'm not on the Stanford Behavioral panel, sadly... I don't think that opportunity will arise again for a while :(

There was a massive drop last month. December 2010 only 2,675 was given away. That's down over 5,000 from the previous month. Also, perhaps it's just me but it seems like the probability numbers are increasing. A 1/85 chance at $25? Really?

You forget how early in the month college students take off for the holidays. Nothing happened for the last half of the month. I've noticed with most of the colleges that pay-outs are pretty random, I've seen some with better rates and some with worse.

I would love to know what the formula is on these, I'm sure there is an assigned budget per project, if some projects require multiple studies that could dictate the lower pay-outs for studies.

I haven't won in about 6 months, although I used to win quite often, sometimes more than one survey win from them a month. I've just about stopped doing them lately unless I'm bored, as they're the only "chance" ones I've ever done and the only reason I continued to do them was I did win once in a while. Several times I won 50 and 100 bucks and quite a few $20 wins. Think it was late last Summer when I won last, or maybe Fall.
