Bandwith isn't though.

IIRC many of the public domain files are txt and not formatted as nicely as the pdfs.

Most, if not all, of these have been available at http://www.gutenberg.org for a very long time. On Gutenburg "The Ghost in the Mill" is just one story of a 7 story collection call "Oldtown Fireside Stories".
