don't resize just make people use pics that you can see like it is. eliminate all post counts on freebie board except the actual post of freebie. replies to freebie post should not count.

Size is excellent. If they increase it, there will be decrease in site speed.

Frankly, I'd do away with any sort of avatar completely. They really serve no purpose...

It does, I simply usually glance at avatar to know who is posting in lounge. Plus gives us an unique ID. :D.

Look how dull fw looks without unique avatar.

Frankly, I'd do away with any sort of avatar completely. They really serve no purpose...Avatars are helpful when trying to locate posts.

They make it easier to know who is on a thread just by scrolling down it quickly without stopping to read the names, or if you want to see where to begin looking to find responses to your own post, you can look for your own avatar.i can't resize it's a moving gif

if you know how please do it for me i'd appreciate it.

Before you bother resizing, you might want to make sure that avatar would be allowed. I don't know the exact rules, but it's not too far from breaking them.

I agree that avatar size should be a bit bigger...maybe just increase to 80x80 pixels? it realls does help to have them though. Unless someone changes all the time.

I wish I could make my avatar bigger.

I like mine just how it is. If it was any bigger, it probably wouldn't be allowed.

How do you add a custom avatar? I can add a profile picture, but not an avatar.

No, the site would be simply slower and annoying.

You can always resize your avatar to fit.

I agree. The size they are now is perfect. Any larger and they would become a distraction and take away from the forums.

dude i can't resize ifran won't allow it.. if you can do it i'd appreciate it.

again here's the pic.

http://putfile.com/pic.php?pic=4/10817392972.gif&s=x2

plus i still disagree. the site wouldn't be if they'd allow remote hosting on my own dedicated server...it would load that little area such as the iframe command in html and directly link the pic to my site. it would leech completely. that's why i find it stupid that it has the same byte limitation when your using your own server.

And it would still be slower for all those users downloading it from your server, especially if your server is slower than the SD server.

we want the deal forums at least to be viewable by people on dialup. same reason the img tag isn't on in those forums.

You forget all of the security loopholes iframes open up as well as the Slickdeals server slowing down the load of it's pages if your server is slow or unavailable because of the load order of a given page.

Now, remember that every time someone opens a thread you have posted to your avitar would be called, if you post more than once to the same thread your avitar would be called each time, multiply that by 200 postings and see how fast your server's bandwith is used up.

I hate avatars too. They can be turned off, in the user cp.
