View Full Version : MODS- can we do something about the VIOP thread in freebies...

I hate to bother over something that could be trivial but:
The Free Viop thread in Freebies has really gotten out of control through (mostly) Newbs not useing common sense.

Instead of people wanting an invite simple following instructions of those posts having them and PMing a person wanters are simple posting " I want" posts which burries the "I have" posts.

Would it be possible to mod alert and delete I want posts or to lock the thread to I want posts but not to I have posts? Somewhat trivial, but the thread has 609 posts now, I have posted 2x about invites I have avail and the 3 following posts of mine were also I have posts- all of us requesting PM's- they are now burried under about 4 pages of "I want" posts and "Done" posts.
Wasting server space and perpetuating the problem.

Any other ideas?

Why don't you just remind them of your invites?? And with 609 posts, I'd honestly go insane with over 100 mod alerts asking me to either delete or filter all of those posts. I would not appreciate that.

justme-

I looked over the thread. the first post instructed members to post their e-mail address - so that's what they did. overall it looks like the invites are being exchanged in a semi-organized manner.

i'll add a message to the first post to explain that some people preferred to be pm'ed about invites.

I figured instead of us constantly having to repost "I have x invites available" there might be another solution.

I understand your point Kel_be. YWC, I forgot that was the original instruction- maybe for the next thread of this kind we can run it PM'd and post if you got em available instead. Might be more effecient.
Service goes live in 2 weeks (just got an email update from them) so I suspect invites will be ended then anyway killing the thread. (betcha we break 1000 posts before then tho..)

Thanks
