The hard part was in deciding which release to use.

FWIW, here's the instructions that I settled on:
Links to files needed are on that page. TPToolbox makes it very easy to do the upgrades now.

Thanks! I'm thinking of doing the wipe/upgrade this weekend. My Touchpad hasn't been used in some time so was dead, but it woke up the instant I plugged in the charging cord.

Which is the most stable version of android for the Touchpad? I want to avoid the power on/off issues that seem to keep cropping up. We have two Touchpads still running WebOS. But it is time to make the switch although I truly detest Google. Blasphemy I know.
Both touchpads are used primarily for email, calendar and internet browsing. It would be nice to access netflix. I need something straightforward. Techie I am not.

Here are some dox I made for myself:
Flashing Rom Dox: Currently using cm-11-20140730-UNOFFICIAL-3.4_kernel-tenderloin.zip
1)Download latest from here:
2)Boot into normal mode>connect USB cable from PC to TP>copy/paste zip file into 'downloads' folder: Computer\Touchpad\Internal storage\Download
3)QUick Boot>Recovery>Choose boot into TWRP>Install>DOwnload Folder>Find zip rom file>swipe to install it>reboot system
Original Upgrade Dox to Kit Kat 4.4.4

I've got CM9 loaded on mine, and wasn't successful at getting it updated the last I tried. My thought has been to do a complete restore back to factory default WebOS and perform the upgrade as a new installation. That will no longer be possible soon.
I know that the latest releases now offer the option to erase the WebOS installation, but is it also possible for it to completely erase the touchpad and install Android?

|nitemare||I am quite surprised people are still running webOS. Realistically, support on it has been severely limited for years. There really is no reason to be running webOS when Android can be installed.|

Is this the end?
I've received the following by email today:

|YanksIn2009||OK, my 32 GB HP Touchpad running CM9 all of a sudden today has turned off twice by itself (both times it would seem after a long period of inactivity\the screen security kicked in). The last time I had to hold the power and menu buttons for awhile for it to boot back on. This has happened while connected to the charger and the battery showing 100%. Not a lot of apps running...600MB free of internal storage, 17 GB free on internal SD Card. Anyone have any idea what could be wrong?|
