|Foladar||How often do they switch deals? I'm not into their triple play, but I'm looking at tv+internet and it's going to run $89.99 for the Prime plus 50/25. And then I have 5 tvs, so that runs me another $30..|

Keep records of everything you sign, and you should be fine. If they don't give it back, take them to small claims and you will get $250 + interest, or stay with Cable.
Edit: How much of a hit does the credit score take from Verizon Inquiry, if it is indeed a hard pull. Let's say it is a 20-50 point hit, which is temporary. For someone who has good credit, as stated earlier, a 50 point drop should make no difference. However, 50 point drop will make a substantial difference in a marginal credit score.
So, if you do indeed have good credit score, (760 and up) go ahead, and use it. It will come back up in 2-4 months. Otherwise, it is just sitting there, as a conversation piece and does you no good. Even if you were planning to buy a car or a house in the next 6 months, the drop from the Verizon pull won't make a difference. You will still have good credit to qualify for the best rates.
Just my $0.02, it is your credit, and you are free to do whatever you wish with it.

I refused the credit check but agreed to give my SSN - I have really good credit, though. Main concern is getting the deposit back years down the line when I have to cancel service, relocate, etc. - I don't trust that they will have accurate records and timely refunds. Oh well... $250 is $$$$. thanks very much for response

If I didn't already have the latest boxes, I would've requested that the installer swap them out though. Part of the reason I did this (besides the price promo) was to get the latest FiOS router which is significantly better than the one I had before. I could not find a way to get it for free otherwise (requesting an exchange always resulted in an old/used replacement router).

It's a bit of a hassle, because they won't let you keep your old equipment. You will have to get new stuff from the installer, then mail back the current equipment after you cancel. I believe they will send you a cardboard box and give you a prepaid mailer.
But as you might have read from a few posts above yours, there might be some new hiccups to doing this.
You might also want to look into committing to a 2 year deal. They will often give you the new pricing promo, as well as the Gift Card if you agree to commit to a 2 year deal. That way, you will only have to switch to your name two years from now...

I wonder what happens to the existing service, does my wife need to call and cancel after I place the order. Will there be any interruptions in the service?
Any help? I am just trying to ensure the correct order and timing for this process.TIA.
