|ihcnek||For what it is worth, I picked up the 350T for 399 today in-store (OR). Was actually looking for the 300T but they were sold out, and the guy asked and said they have the 350T for the same price. So anyone still looking for this model should check it out in their local Frys. The online price is still over 700...|

After a week with this thing, I am pretty happy. I have my 55" Sony 3D TV mounted on an adjacent wall that is getting no love. No worries whatsoever about using too much lamp life with this baby since she is LED. Again, adjust expectations accordingly. This is a $400 portable projector and you do get what you pay for. Home Theater quality projectors start at about $1000 and even at that price, there are compromises. It is only right around the $2500+ where compromises become gripes for which there are alternatives that will be felt in your wallet. To address each gripe, you can expect to pay a $500 increment (or more) for such things as better blacks, colors, inputs, etc. For what this is and at this price, I find myself to be quite happy. Although admittedly, I did not research LED projectors in this price range at all prior to picking this up. This was truly an impulse buy entirely.

Mine could be just a bad unit. And Frys gave me full refund for the return.

Got mine on Saturday. Returned it today after playing it for a few days. I must admit picture quality on this unit is really good (far exceeds my expectation for such a small projector). However, the fan noise on the one is really annoying. It has consistent buzz in economic mode while like a hair dryer in presentation mode. Frys list noise level of "High Brightness 35dB, Economic 26dB" for HW300T. My feeling is that HW350T can only be worse than that.
It also shut itself down once while playing a 2-hour long video (as the unit becomes very hot), which made me really question its reliability.
Hope the info helps.

I finally hooked it yesterday after picking it in store on monday.
First the pick up... 1:20 hrs!! Nobody in the video dept knew about the screen (100" for $69 advertised) as it didn't have any sku listed. After the guys from speakers went several times to the front, he told me it was a typo and the only one they had for that price was a 74" (after 40 mins here) obviously not very convincing.
So I take just the HW350T to the front, and ask the lady there about the screen on sale and goes to a mngr and sends me back to the video dept to meet another manager. The guy tries to find a 100" screen with the same price (same process as the speakers guy), no dice so he goes to another manager to get approved one. Comes back and he says he has to discount both the screen and the projector in order to give me the same price. Got the quote, came back to the lady in the front and then she finds that the quote has the HW300T and not the HW350T so she goes for another 10 mins looking for the other model. I think the only difference is the color.
So finally I got the projector for $389 and the manual Inland 100" screen for $79
Final price for everything : $504. guy at video dept got the "Profit < 0" alert when printing the quote.
Then comes yesterday and I hooked my thrive and wdlxtv live to it to test it, the result: amazing. The quality of the image looks very good (even thou I was testing in my texturized "bone color" wall) The sound sucks but now I have a use for my vizio sound bar again, no worries here. smart tv sucks, it doesn't have netflix/amazon/hulu which would be the only things I would use it for. It has vudu so it may be useful for somebody. Connected the tablet and wdtv with no issues. didn't complete setup of my dnla to test that, but being able to connect my tablet directly saves me a lot of troubles. Fan noise sucks and it gets way too hot for my taste, but I'm happy with this purchase.

Picked up mine
Everything works well. The project is so cute and light. The only thing that can be better is the fan noise. It is not that bad but still not that quiet.
Overal, it is well worth it. Compared to my old X1, the difference is black and white.

|chidu||I have ordered one before it is OOS online. Waiting for shipping. Does any one who picked up tried checking for any firmware upgrade?. Please keep posting your settings and findings. Also the screen size you tried and distance of PJ from screen/wall you tried.|

-Speaker volume is too low, not a big deal.
-Picture quality is brilliant, different video modes (sports, cinema, standard etc).
-Very responsive remote,
-Fan noise is there but not that loud.
Have to try with a USB HDD today.
Thanks a lot OP.
