Glue seems to be good idea so what kind of special glue do I need? The one I have is heavy so if it drops I am afraid it will cut through the gas line behind the stove.

Lowe should have quite a selection of glue next to caulking material.

stainless is $23 at one of the stores somewhat near me but I don't have any use for this right now and no place to store it.
How do people get clearance things to show up online? I was at a Lowe's picking up that 3-pack of Crescent wrenches and saw several Knipex tools on clearance but when viewing that store online it shows all regular price. I wanted to see if other stores had cheaper prices for Knipex since those are even more expensive than Klein sometimes.

If you are careful you could use tin snips to cut this, and depending on the fit/mounting of your upper cabinets you may even be able to tuck it behind the top set.
Actually on further inspection previous poster said .1" not .01" take it to a shop with a hydraulic shear. Best bet, but still possible to slip it behind uppers enough to hide non factory edge.

I work for a metal shop that sells cut to size sheet metal. I can tell you if its actually .100" thick, this is a great deal.
For those wanting to cut it, take it to a nearby sheet metal shop and they will charge you to shear cut it down to size. Nice clean cut and ready to install. We do it all the time for about $10.00 to chop down (for the easy projects).

Broan is a vent hood manufacture and these are meant to be used behind the stove, therefore the 24" height.
My opinion, jig saw would not give a nice clean cut : (
Good price though!!

U are a handy! That's the bees knees for quality and a bit of labor. Congrats on the house. Yeah, redo that kitchen
my mother's brown counters are showing a bit of discolor in patch areas but the quality is there. All top cabinets are shiny so i guess thats shalac? Can one stain and repair to original? Or, can i? I should try a practised run...
