rogues make the best raid leaders and that would translate to the best public office holders.

So people are less likely to vote for someone who is a little violent on the virtual world
But yet we can vote for chickenhawks and warmongers to office, who won't have the balls to get into a fight but are more then willing to send all of us into war for them...

Anyone who pals around with the weirdos at the DailyKos without heaping derision on them hasn't earned my vote.
I do find it interesting that a lot of the thread titles at DailyKos were "I am mentally ill." or similar. Yes you are.

I think we have to stop looking at Democrat/Republican as an intelligence/morality test of individuals. The truth is that, irrespective of party, a person who makes bizarre violent comments may no be the best bet for public office.
Playing the game isn't the problem, but the fantasy comments seem a little worrisome to me. If this were a local election, I'd certainly consider her opponent.

Yes, I think some of her comments might be cause for concern to a voter, but not that she plays a game. I bet a lot of politicians and of course non-politicians spend a lot of time not only watching the game of football but also playing the game of fantasy football. (or other sport.)
For some reason, spending large amounts of time playing a game is considered ok if it's fantasy football or Madden on Xbox.
On a related note, I have to assume Colleen is not an anti-gun or anti-violent-video-game person since she "loves to stab people" virtually but that hasn't led her to do it in reality. (as far as we know, anyway.)

you should see some trekies or jedis too....
its interesting that people would refuse to vote for different kinds of people ( those who best represent the nation in general ) for uptight puritanical dimwits that has no clue and could never relate to most of america

Gamers in general, no. WOW players, yes.

Gaming doesn't matter - they aren't attacking her because she's a gamer. They're attacking her because she's clearly immature and possibly unbalanced.
"Should gamers be banned from running for office?" Of course not; it's a hobby - golfers and chess players shouldn't be banned from office either.
Should people who use vulgar and crude language and say questionable things online be banned from running for office? No, but people might change their vote based on it. I personally wouldn't support her after reading some of her comments - I'd prefer to support a more mature and responsible person for office.

|Dr. J||Doesn't matter to me but some of the comments she's made are improper.|

Played WoW for 15 minutes and i see it as a huge waste of time, that being said it says nothing about someones ability to be a politician. Dick Cheney had a "hobby" that included the possibility of him accidentally shooting someone in the face. That happened while in office and he didnt resign or anything did he? but playing video games means youre unfit to run for senate, so says maine republicans.
Perhaps we should ask them if they had to choose, would they play WoW with Colleen or go hunting with Cheney, which one would they do?
