You can create profiles - so if you want performance, you can set it to max the CPU, or battery saver to make it last longer. If your machine seems slow, check this out, as sometimes it is only set to 80% power out of the factory - tweak this setting, and you get a free speed boost.

I sleep with Goats, there is no such thing as an Edge 530 with 520 guts. If it is a 520, has 520 guts, 530's come with 530 guts. Someone on the outlet site just made a typo is my guess. There is 1 machine type with E520, and one for E530. They are different.
In terms of your first comment, the machines were announced, but didn't ship until Ivy Bridge/Chief River came out. Intel wanted Lenovo to stand on the stage with them when they announced the Ivy Bridge processor and Chief River chipset. Dell and HP do the same thing.

|xur17||I just opened my refurbished T430s today. The unit is in great condition, and I can't distinguish it from a new system. The battery had 2 cycles on it. Very happy with it!|

Got my K1 and it was as good as new. Had a hard time with Market crashing in 3.2. Flashed with a rooted ICS ROM and it has been great so far. The only downside is a very poor camera. Images are dark and are not usable for a video chat. Any K1 owner experienced the same with the camera ?

If that 15GB of hidden space really bothers you, boot your machine from a gParted live CD, you can delete that partion and reclaim your precious har drive space, all 15GB of it.

I ordered a y570 from outlet about at 10/10/2012. Suppose to be shipped on on the 12th but never did. Complained for 3 days in a row and went no where. Got tired of getting the wrap around and asked for manager on the phone. Manager was able to follow up and expedited my shipping to 3 day guaranteed from UPS.
YMMV but the level one customer service reps can't do anything so escalate to manager to get something done right.

|spoolin01||My Z575 IdeaPad 10/11 order just arrived. Does anyone know what the 15GB OEM partition at the end of the drive is for? I wanted to shrink the OS partition to provide room for a data partition, and I'd like to regain those last 15GB as well, but the Win7 Disk Management console won't let me touch it. Would one of the other partition management softwares (Easus Todo, Partition Magic) handle this? I doubt that space is being used for much I care about. I captured the whole drive image out of the box, again after initialization, and yet again after absorbing the Lenovo D: into C: and shrinking it all to 80GB, so from here I'm not worried about restoration of something pure as a fall back feature (in case that OEM sector has something to do with backup or restoration functions in the OS).|
