|OmaCoder||After re-reviewing my invoice, it appears I only got the MB and not the processor with it. Interesting, either I totally screwed this up or they changed my order, but I'm pretty sure I used the same link everyone else did on this posting.|

|XealO||Yeah I got my stuff on Wednesday, placed an order @ 5pm on Friday via Paypal but immediately was voided because of an unconfirmed address. Right away, I used my visa.|

Just to be fair to these guys, I was initially part of the cancelled crowd and got totally unfairly screwed b/c I ordered a bunch of other stuff with this and some were already shipped.
I got a hold of their customer service, even directly with the person who directly handled my order to begin with (should list the rep's name on the cancellation email you guys received). He was actually very courteous and was genuinely interested in doing what he can. He explained the full story. Basically they run these promos with the intention of fulfilling, say, only 100 or so orders. Does their website have the capability of limiting it to a 100 orders? No. Do they run these promotions anyway? Yes. In my opinion, is this a bad recipe for a bunch of disgruntled customers? Hell, yes.
The rep even admitted I was actually part of the first 100-crowd but a problem surfaced during the Paypal verification. To him it appeared that I was shipping my item to an "unconfirmed" address which throws folks to the back of the queue for later-re-verification/callback. Which they would normally followup directly with the customer for resolution. However in this case, my order was automatically cancelled since the allotment was so far below the huge number of orders that were actually placed. Well, there seemed to be some technical/training issues on their end that made many people's orders shipping addresses appear "unconfirmed" and therefore cancelled. Well I took a screenshot of my Paypal account and emailed it to him to prove him otherwise so at that point he knew I was in the right. Maybe it showed him "unconfirmed" because of country spelling or perhaps because of the +4 digits that was missing on my US zip code when comparing with the address in Paypal, I really can't be entirely sure...
He and I somewhat squabbled over the fact that I was calling it a lottery system, or a throw-a-dart system but that's besides the point. It's a poor system. Of course he never came out and said it but I'm sure it was at least thinking it in the back of his mind. It can't be the first time something like this has happened. And it certainly sounded like they were having a customer service field day when I called in, and rightly so.
He did a good enough job breaking to me my "SOL" story, following up on checking in on my issues, addressing my resellerratings post, to actually make me a convert and respect them enough to happily shop there again despite their wretched lottery system. You just have to remember not to count on the order coming through if it's a really good deal. But they really, really, really need to fix that problem. It's totally unacceptable. Especially since they refuse to honor their promo prices on all of those cancelled orders.
And oh, you have to checkout with Paypal to ensure you don't get charged for the foreign exchange rate. Another totally bad customer service experience disaster waiting to happen, like for a lot of folks here. So yeah, these guys have a long way to go before ever reaching newegg status...

|nfg1984||Cancelled here. Sent an email complaining how they told me that the reason for cancellation is that they are "sold out", yet I clearly see the bundle available for immediate shipping at their regulat price. The CSR offered me free shipping if i wanted to order it again. HA! Makes me appreciate newegg so much more now. Never again NCIX.|

My order shipped.
Sucks that the deal was so limited.
Also, from the looks of the other bundles on the site, some are actually higher than just the price of the cpu + mobo. Wow... that's some bad internet pricing.

Is that frys combo still going on? If not i will probably jump on the microcenter mb + i5 combo deal or wait for some bf deals.
|10-09-2012 10:15 AM|
Yea we all got screwed. I did luck out and was able to return the MB I got from the Frys combo for full retail price and keep the discounted 3770K($289) and 16GB DDR 3 1600 Patriot Ram($50 after $20 MIR)
Just Ordered the board I really wanted which is like $35 cheaper from Newegg so I did pretty well
Asrock Z77 Extreme4
16GB Patriot DDR3 1600 Ram
Intel i7 3770K
Much better than what they are selling this i5 combo for now($453) on this bullshit website. Will definitely NEVER buy from them in the future.
