i saw on the news this monring that there was a Saxon gun show that normally has about 2500 in attendance have over 14,600 instead ... the lines for ammo was three hours long ...
One of the Remington ammo reps that was there said ""Even though we're in the middle of panic buying, we don't see the demand for ammunition letting up any time soon. Panic buying will simply give way to stocking up as supplies increases, but current prices will probably remain due to demand. We are working our plants 24/7 and still have zero in reserve."

|dontshootimgay2||This deal doesn't scrape the bottom of the barrel. This deal isn't the bottom of the barrel. This deal isn't below the bottom of the barrel. This deal doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence with barrels.|

I'm from the northeast and i'm not going to name my sorry state (that i'm moving back to shortly too), but MANY of my friends up there who also like guns were caught flat footed. they had 100 rounds of .22, maybe 100 rounds of 9mm, and nothing else. It was pretty pathetic. So they're the reason things are panic ridden and they're the ones with good jobs/earnings who are more than willing to pay $1 a round because they think the politicians might cause the world to end (LOL).
Case in point to wait... AR-15's are coming down in price again, and available. Barrels, uppers and even some BCG's are available (at higher prices, but available). 9mm and .223 are available for less than $1/round. And walmarts are starting to show inventory again once in a while.
The stock market is sound for now, and all the countries have shown their willingness to print/inflate their monetary supply so it sidesteps immediate heart attack in exchange for long term heart burn...
let Sandy Hook and the recent shortages of everything teach people to be prepared, learn to reload, and stock moderately, and learn from panic buying.

As for prices shows and shops are still going strong and selling out at $0.75 to $0.80 a pop plus tax, and thats the retail store prices, im not even mentioning second hand seller prices. So this price including shipping/no tax prob equates to $0.67/rd Green Tip 556.
Currently 34 left after seeing stock replenish on the site, estimated 300 cases sold

If you can't find them at a good price, it's either because you're too lazy to look or you're too impatient

The "this isn't a terrible deal if you really need some ammo right now" argument would have more traction in my mind if this per-round price were available in smaller quantities than 1,000 cartridges.
There are already signs the ammo pricing hysteria has reached its peak. To lock into buying 1,000 rounds of obcenely overpriced ammunition to the tune of $700 strikes me as an exeedingly poor deal.

Ammo prices have continued to climb despite what logic follks are spewing on this forum.
.50 a rd ammo has gone the way of 1.20 gas (a mere four years ago) and $800/oz gold (also a mere 4 years ago) ... as i have said before .. welcome to the new norm ... everyone and their brother can keep saying that the price will go down - but just this morning yet another state ratified legislation restricting who can buy ammo and where it can be sold ... it will be just a matter of time that they start taxing the hell out of it the way they do for gas ... i can easily see a .25 a rd tax in order to fund a "gun violence victims fund" ... trust me -- there are tons of folks here in Wash DC that are trying to figure out how to get your money ...
