Probably one of the 4000 series a few weeks ago. Poster was not really interested in 3D, so the Samsung would have been a better choice for no frills and better PQ.
This Samsung model is backlit, but is a bit toned down on the array so you definitely don't get the same PQ as a full array, but arguably it is better than the edge lit 4000's by LG. For no frills (no smart, no 3d etc..) I'd go with the Samsung over LG 4500-4700 but that is my opinion. To each their own. Some like the slimmer LG better.

|CakeM1x||So this is still 850 after taxes at my local costco. Is this a decent deal for an led(don't care about 3d/extra features)? Wanting to finish our livingroom setup.|

Lower end LGs are terrible. Mid range LGs are better than Mid range Samsungs. I would definitely take this tv hands down no contest over the cheap 60 hz LG at walmart..
I thought Id be worried about the depth, but I actually checked it out at a local costco this weekend and its not bad at all. Im still on the fence because Im hoping for a mid-range tv deal this memorial day.
