The Tomintoul is a a great scotch as well, I have a bottle of the 10 year and it's very light, in taste and color. I would imagine the 27 would be a whole lot smoother than the 10 which is why I'm going to grab one.
I usually keep 7-10 bottles in my cabinet, I'm currently down to 6. My usual go to scotch is Talisker mainly because it's usually only $65 a bottle and it's a great medium range in taste, light on the smoke and great tasting. It's my best bang for the buck IMO and what I usually offer first timers that come over for a tasting.

Just went there today (Saturday). It was PACKED! The Parking lot took 5 mins to get into...
The scotches are all on sale, as well as a number of other things. I bought about $268 of scotch before tax. Everything is still on sale except the Tomintoul won't be in stock until Monday.
Oh I also got the last Johnny Walker Green after reading this thread but I'm sure that will be back on the shelf real soon. =)

|squeaky||Agreed. Johnnie Blue is okay, but absolutely not worth what they charge for it, even on sale. It's what Opus One is to wine drinkers--more buck than bang, overall. As far as the Johnnie blends go, Green Label is a lot more interesting than Blue, IMHO, and a heck of a lot cheaper. My local Costco has it on sale for about 34 bucks (with coupon) a bottle right now.|
