"We're gonna be getting rid of these people here... First, Mr. Samir Naga... Naga... Not gonna work here anymore, anyway."
Office Space, that movie is hilarious! Oh, Dodgeball is pretty damn funny too, but I gotta put OS ahead of it.

|Blade2000||I would like to apologize to my fellow SlickDealers for some of my posts to another member. Although I will argue he was the one who started the personal attack, I should have been a bigger person and ignored his immaturity. After 5+ years on SlickDeals I should have shown more restraint. Anyway, sorry everyone.|

All the arguing in this thread boils down to someone who doesn't want the product, if you don't want it then don't buy it. It's like with video game threads when people say "well I can just download it, its not worth buying." If you're on SD and you click the thread you probably want to own a physical copy. If you don't that doesn't make the deals any less of a deal.
Now these I wont buy because I usually like to buy movies that suit bluray better, comedies really don't cut it unless they're built on sound or effects/visuals (Scott Pilgrim comes to mind as a recent one, Napoleaon Dynamite doesn't). It still doesn't mean 7 dollars for a bluray is a bad deal.
Also towards the ignorant comment earlier about everyone having fast connections, I have relatives that live up in Oregon, they can only get sattelite connections, think of connections so slow its like you're back in the 90's again, streaming is not a viable option up there.
Edit: As well as places that have ISPs that cap your usage monthly.

In the end, like it has been already said, if you're happy with the lesser quality/convinience of streaming, you should stick to that - and if you enjoy the best audio/video/extras a movie has to offer and enjoy having a great movie collection you should stick to blu-rays.

The reason BD is SUPERIOR to everything currently available, and will be for the near future is:
BD's contain 1080p, DTS-MA AND Supplements (extras, commentary). If we agree that all these features are equally important than each feature makes up 33% of a BD
Right now streaming only gives you the 1080p portion of a BD, NOT DTS-MA and NOT the Supplements.
That means streaming is only giving you 33% of what a physical BD can give you so please be quite about streaming being almost as good as BD.

You can come back in five years, and we all still will have the physical copies of the movies we bought, but you will still be streaming your movies and not actually own any of them.
When it comes down to it, who really cares though. I like owning the movie, and you like streaming the movie, and last time I checked if it makes you happy who cares.

You know what else can still be found sold in stores everywhere? Incandescent bulbs. But most people have switched to CF. I can also find blank VHS tapes at most big box stores too - but not a lot of people are buying them anymore. And I can also buy a bunch of blank DVDs or CDs to copy data for a quick backup. But most people I know use flash drives for that today.
"Times they are a changing". Physical media for entertainment like DVDs, Blu-rays, etc. are NOT the future. Digital delivery is. Maybe I can come back to this thread in 5 years and we can debate it again and see who is right. I've been on SlickDeals over 5 years already - what's another 5 to wait?

The only reason I even mentioned CDs and DVDs at all is that Blade2000 seems to think that they can't possibly be found anywhere on planet Earth anymore, now that "everyone is
