That's one, as well as various deals from Amazon vendors.

|bullgates||As many Panny plasma deals that there have been recently I can't believe that anyone would consider this set. The panny deals have been for slightly more but get tremendous reviews this on the other hand does not.|

|ScoobyVick||I have the 550 and as everyone else has mentioned, it is extremely glossy and reflective... also i get a lot of image retention... if i watch a movie with black bars on the top and bottom there is a slight noticeable shift in color for a while... also by no means is this the sharpest TV i've ever seen... not bad though for the price...|

This TV has the same internals as the LG PK550 plasmas, so the image quality, burn in, and lag issues are all the same between the two models. I have a 550 and experience no burn in whatsoever which is great since this is primarily used for gaming. Even after a marathon 8 hour session there is no burn in. Image retention, on the other hand, is present for a few seconds to a few minutes but can be cleaned nearly instantly using the built in color wash features.
AVS forums have many reviews for the 550/540 line and professional video calibrators said that it has better image fidelity than the 750/950 due to those models' image enhancement software actually defeating many calibration options.
The biggest drawback to this set is that the screen is extremely glossy and reflective. When watching bright things, you can get away with having the lights on or an open window opposite the TV but you will see yourself when the scene is dark. I would not recommend it for rooms with lots of windows, since it has the same glare as the old CRT displays. If you have curtains or a dimmer switch, its unbelievable how good the picture can be.
From a practical gaming standpoint, the lag on this tv is at least 30ms, which is pretty rough for a plasma. If you competitively game, it sucks. Music games can be calibrated to remove the problem, but online fps games and fighting games can be more challenging to work around.
For the record, I have had it since late June. Mine has about 300 hours on it (not counting the burn in DVD, which I ran for a straight 100 hours) and I have had zero issues. I doesn't buzz, hum, or do anything abnormal. If you do go plasma, I absolutely recommend running a burn in DVD or MPEG for at least 50 hours to completely remove the risk of burn in and to allow the phosphors to age before you calibrate it. I give mine an A- since the reflection issue can be annoying (I love gaming in the dark, but the wife likes a little light when we watch blu rays).

|doujones||By the way, this TV is the same as 50PK550, just doesn't have the USB port on the side to view pictures. So if you are looking for reviews, search for 50PK550.|

|doujones||I bought this tv when it first came out from Sams Club. I ended up returning it after about 3 months, Sams Club lets you return TVs within 90 days of purchase. The reflections are the worst I've ever seen on Plasmas. I couldn't watch this TV in the day time or with any lights on. It was terrible. I had a few other issues with the picture. Overall, I would not recommend this TV to anyone. I really wanted to like it but I just had to return it.|

Been researching and looking for months for a deal on a decent TV. This one doesn't have all the frills, but it doesn't have the outrageous pricetag either.
In for one, thx OP!
