Well I have been with at&t since October, still loving them. Love the fact that I have many phones to choose from.
Yesterday I received 3 missed calls from Sprint. When I called them back they had no idea why they called me. :| Today again, had 3 missed calls. I'm at work and wasn't able to answer.
They "is" crazy!!!!!

|XxadminxX||Can someone help me please? I have 5 lines, 2 with evo 4g, 2 with BB curve 8530 and 1 with GSII. I am being offered to be ported out withing 30 days. What is porting. What does it do? How can I do it? When can I go back to sprint? How do I go back with sprint. Thanks.|

In my situation I wanted to leave sprint, so I didn't try to do what many others did in this thread (get sprint to credit their account or give discounts) so that may have affected the outcome. It also helped that this girl was very sweet and helpful, not like the reps that I have been on the phone with in the past.

to others who did this a few months ago, if u can update what happened, it would help others who are trying to this now (like me)
specifically, if were told to cancel and get the EFT charged on last bill and have to call to get it credited back

I wanted to tell everyone my experience.
My wife is on a single line, and renewed in September.
I got the nicest girl in retentions which I think makes my experience quite biased. The few times I called before were terrible experiences with ladies with terrible attitudes who didn't care that I had been with Sprint for 11 years and I wanted a better contract (paying $150/mo for two lines). So I cancelled and my wife renewed.
So back to the story, I calmly told them about a change to the contract and she transferred me to the nice girl in retentions. I talked to her and explained to her that this represented a change and I will need the ETF waived and I would like the contract to be fulfilled. She tried to explain it wouldn't affect me but I insisted this is a change. She accepted this and said OK, I will cancel your account at the end of your billing cycle (Feb 3). So I will have to port the line before that date.
Summary: Called on 1/24/2012--Got out of the contract, ETF waived, and we can keep the phone. Thanks SD!

|biffer||I contacted Sprint in September to get out of contract because of the admin fee increase. The rep terminated my contract because I told her that I planned to port out, but she said that my account would be reviewed in a couple of months and the contract restored if I hadn't left. I bought a phone from Wirefly in July, so had to wait to terminate until now to avoid the Wirefly fee. The Sprint website says that my contract was fulfilled in September. I took a screen shot today. Should I go ahead and port out to Verizon/Google Voice, or would I be safer calling Sprint to confirm that I can get out. I wouldn't want to unnecessarily stir the pot if I can safely get out. Thanks.|

I left them only because of dropped calls, constantly! I used to love them, was with them since 1998, even though they screwed up & it shows that I've been with them since 2008. :/
I'm with AT&T & they're actually cheaper too. I dont have any smartphones on my plan though. So I'm glad I fought this.
They did say they were going to mail me the forms to settle & for me to fax it over, I'll fax it over but will mail it certified as well. Don't want them pulling anything on me.

Looks like I will be staying longer with Sprint than anticipated.
I did take advantage of breaking one contract to get a new Galaxy S2.
Then Sprint gave me an early upgrade and I got my wife an IPhone 4S. Was originally scheduled to get an upgrade Oct 2012.
Now Sprint has finally boosted coverage at my house and I now have 3-4 bars of 3G when I had zero before. I can thank Apple for that.
And yesterday Sprint says they will introduce the Galaxy Nexus for 4G LTE this year.
Even with Sprint removing a part of my corp discount on my plan its still cheaper than going to VZ.
As of right now I have an excessive data roaming warning and waiting to get bounced so I can get another new phone to sell on a new line after that happens.
So despite these crazy tactics Sprint has pulled its no different than what I would experience down at Verizon.
At least Sprint has made it worthwhile and hopefully it won't get too bad.

Just talked to Sprint. She wanted to see exactly why I was taking them to court. Uhh, read your notes and read what I wrote on the court papers.
She said that they believe it’s not sufficient (the administration fee and jams change) I said, well that’s why I want the judge to decide. She's going to talk to her "attorney" and then they will let me know if they’re going to settle or go forward.
