I still have 5 touchpads and they all get used just about daily between me and the kids. I also maintain my father in laws touchpad. anyway, I've had several of them "die" and was able to get them back with the button mashing sequence. Three of them would not revive, wouldn't even be acknowledged by the computer when connected.
I ended up replacing the battery on the first one. That was a huge pain and i decided I'd never bother with that again. But it did work.
the second one was revived by the TPDebrick available on rootzwiki.
the third didn't revive using TPDebrick and I wasn't going to bother with replacing the batery. So it went in a drawer for probably a month. then I set it on the Touchstone and it fired right up! been working great for a couple months now.
so if you like to tinker, try the TPDebrick. if all else fails, let the battery really and completely die, then toss it on the charger. You just might get lucky!

|kodakman||The battery on my HP Touchpad is still running strong. I give a moment of silence to Flyinace2000.|

|nitemare||My TP is going just as strong as it has from day one! From the size of the screen to the great sound of the speakers, and mostly to the Android Apps it runs -- definitely was a great Buy!|

Here lies the HP Touchpad. The greatest slick deal of all time.

I recently sold my Touchpad. I stopped using it once I got a Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 is much lighter and is always up to date software wise. I could no longer access my work email on the Touchpad due to the outdated Android OS. I still miss the stereo speakers and larger screen size on the Touchpad and the case; why can't other tablet manufacturers make the same case? It's by far the best I've seen.
