|phungn||I have the international one and I love it. It's faster then the one I have on t mobile with the snap dragon processor. The only thing I wish it had was nfc like the att version but this version will have faster updates since the update songs through samsung instead if through the carrier. The vibrant and captivate took months to get froyo and still don't have gingerbread where the international versions of those do already. The sgs2 will be the same way probably. Also you don't get the bloat the att version gets.|

I've read threads of people complaining their "old SIM" wasn't 4G capable but then others who have the same generation SIM have no problem.
I believe, again I don't know for certain, that you need to have a 4G IMEI device as "active" on your line, else your data speeds will only reach 3G. It's kind of the opposite of what happens when you have a device AT&T does not recognize as a smart phone on your line, you can get away with using the MediaNet plan. Well same thing here, except NOT in your favor.
I've read comments that people have just given a 4G capable IMEI when asked, even if it is not the one actually on their device and that has worked.
But, YMMV as "technically" you're lying to your carrier and who knows if that can get you into any legal trouble or if they'd even do anything about it if they could.

|vedau||If you guys got the Nokia 1616 from Walgreen would you confirm that the the sim kit in there works for this 4G plan -- that is, if you actually activated and it worked? I wonder if a TMO Sim on a regular voice plan is the same as a TMO Sim for voice and highspeed plans, or if it's all the same? The reason why I brought this up is because I've seen the terms "old SIM" and "new SIM" floating around. Thanks for your input.|

|phildo||Is there a difference between a 3G sim card and 4G sim card? Basically if I were to get a dumbphone, add the $10 unlimited data on my family plan, can I use that same sim card on a 4G phone? I know the Galaxy S2 isn't 4G but some other phone in the future? Would AT&T be able to tell the difference?|

And the $169/phone for ST is a one time expense to get the SIM. Not something you do every 2 years!

ICS is touted to come out in January for S2, tentatively of course, according to some twitter report from Samsung or the like.
- Yes Nexus slightly larger screen, some say too big for one hand operation, and overall image quality, reviews say the S2 screen is still better even though the 720p Nexus is impressive
- Better quality 5mp than the 8mp? Not impossible obviously, but I would like to see PROOF of that please
- Bigger battery, who cares... so it give you what, 10 minutes more talk time maybe? Irrelevant in real world where S2 has much improved power management, so unless you are online with it browsing all day, this is non-factor, just makes the phone THICKER & HEAVIER as well
- The ICS is actually one of the guaranteed nice features, but S2 will have it in a couple of months
- In some reviews the S2 had smoother scrolling on the web etc., which was a significant thing bec the Nexus stuttered a bit and I'd be annoying if that happened on every flick
- S2 already has started with Cyanogen mods WITH Samsung's support... that worth something
- Annnnnnnnnnnnd, we can get the S2 NOW

in my own case,
i'm having ATT family plan 2 lines with 550 minutes - $60
2x 200MB data plan - $30
24month = 2160
2iphone4s = 400
Fees: $ 150 (Using approx $6.25/mo)
total = 2710
Compare this to what you do through Straight Talk :
24 months: $1080 (Straight Talk Prepaid $45 Unlimited Voice, Data, SMS, 411 plan)
E71 Phone:$ 169 (From Walmart for Unlocked SIM Card) (works off ATT network)
Galaxy SII :$ 500 (Use SIM from above)
Warranty: $ 58 (Square Trade 2 year warranty)
TOTAL: $ 1807
x2 line = 3614
i save approximately $1100 in 2 years and more saving if i keep my current phone longer. This is how rest of the world operates
thats why on my original post i only compare the phone + data plan. i agree with most of the others, theres no absolute answer which is cheaper, it really depends on how many usage you need,
