|Cafedenda||burne201, my local Costco in southern cal has the Vitamix 5200c (48 oz carafe) for $373. I didn't check out the details in term of what is included but there are threads on these forums for this the c (compact) model.|

if you go to the vitamix website and plug in your zipcode it will say which stores will have a live demonstation.
Still seeing if the CIA professional series is worth it

|TheGMan||I wonder if it's a regional thing then? I was at Costco on Saturday and they had the Vitamix "package" for $340 and the live demonstration. After reading this thread, I now think I should have lingered to see why there literally was a crowd around it!|

So I'm really interested in getting a Vitamix, my local costco isn't selling them at this time, and are not having any live demonstrations anytime soon.
BedBath&Beyond has a model called 1363 CIA Professional Series Platinum Blender for $499, I called the store and they said your able to use the 20% off coupon; which would bring it down to $399+tax. I called Vitamix asking about the CIA series since its not listed on their site.
They said its the same as the 5200 series; and CIA stands for Culinary Institute of America.
Amazon sells the same CIA #1363 for $498.
Just curious if you think this is a good deal, if I should wait until costco has them on sale. I'm a little confused with all the model #s they come out with, that are essentially the same thing.

I've made tons of smoothies, salsa, hummus, ice cream and frozen drinks. The kids love it and I'm thrilled.
Williams Sonoma was super great and the 7 year warranty makes it even better.
Only thing I haven't used yet it the dry mixer. Still a little overwhelmed by how to use it.
Sure, I probably would have preferred the 500 one, but the 200 is great and I don't know what I'm missing .
would recommend this to everyone!!

Got the 500 at Macy's, called and asked them to apply the newyear 10% code and they were great, opened a Macy's card and got the extra 15% so total with tax should be~350
Thanks op and all of SD

You would think they could have hired the spammers without having to outsource it to another country. Speak and write proper english you moron.

Hard to argue with comprehensive facts like those.
Did Blendtec check their year-end numbers and hire some spammer henchmen?
