|Backhome77||There have been a lot of articles recently from reputable sources about the growing malware threat phone OSs, particularly Android. So it is a real concern. That being said, I have absolutely no idea how well this antivirus does or doesn't work. Though, for $.99, as long as it doesn't slow your phone down, it might be worth it simply as cheap insurance.|

Anyway, a big Thumbs up for this pro non-ads version for only 99 cents.

|palmers||as already stated in this thread viruses are not really a concern on android because of the sandbox setup. there is malware but unless your sidloading apps from random places that's not much of a worry. there has been malware that made it way to the market but unless your downloading apps from a random developer that have only been up for a week and only have a handful of reviews that not much to worry about either. they usually try name those apps something similar to a popular app hoping that people will download it without noticing. those apps are usually taken down by google faster than these apps update their databases. common sense will take you alot farther. that said this app does have other features that might be worth $0.99 to some.|

|acr||Not to TC but the best anti-malware products I have found for Android have all been free. They would be, in order Avast (which has a ton of features including a component formerly known as Theft Aware which is probably the best phone location app available), Zoner and Dr. Web.|

Also its "cracked" not "hacked" but thats irrelevant really.

|Exodus1||lol, guess what I'll do if my android phone ever gets hacked...walk into Sprint store, hand them phone, walk out with new phone.|

Note DiBona himself states: "No major cell phone has a 'virus' problem in the traditional sense that Windows and some Mac machines have seen. There have been some little things..."
Agree with Free simply to have protection of some sort as nothing has 100% immunity from an attack. Lets not loose site of the fact SDs is about just that ... deals! Repped OP as 99 cents is well worth removal of ads alone for those wanting the added insurance policy. Regardless of your personal opinion on AV for phones ... this remains a SD.

|cnovamd||I use LookOut and it does a great job of authenticating the apps!|

|ALXrock||I used Lookout Premium this past year (I won a free premium upgrade for a year) since my premium ended, I grabbed Avast! for free yesterday, not for the fear of getting a virus on my phone, but for the device tracking and remote lock/wipe features. Avast! also has root features so that if I decide to re-root my phone, it'll play nice as well.|

|Rexman||If you're using your phone with credit cards or financial data especially, it never hurts to have the added protection. I prefer non-ad software myself.|

Unneeded. If you are scared enough to buy just find a free one and install it. Not a big issue with Android right now.

|RugerRedhawk||This seems like a waste of $0.99 and a waste of system resources.|

This is a link of what Pro adds to the equation. None of it is related to Anti Virus (which is part of AVG free)
