Amazon - Onkyo HT-S7400 5.1-Channel Network A/V Receiver/Speaker Package - $380
Amazon has Onkyo HT-S7400 5.1-Channel Network A/V Receiver/Speaker Package for $380 New.
It has Network receiver in it (I might be mistaken, but it might be 609, which is going for same price as 380 just for receiver, again not sure if it is indeed 609 )
Edit: Its not 609. Newegg has better pictures, although discontinued there. It seems to be HT-R690.
click on pictures of Receiver and zoom in on lower right corner.
Price shows in cart.

|yenner||Was going to go for this and looking at the manual, it shows the HT-R690. From the AVS forum, the consensus is that the HT-X receivers are lower end and have lots of problems even though they may seem similar to the NR.|

hmm you might be right about the upscaling...but what about this?
nr609: "6 HDMI Inputs and 1 Output"
rc360: "6 HDMI Inputs and 1 Output"
nr509: "4 HDMI Inputs and 1 Output"
and now i am even more confused
check out newegg's images: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...688212018
zoom in and you will see the receiver is an ht-r690? what is that?
aha! i figured it out:HT-R690

"Four HDMI Input that Support for 3D Video and Audio Return Channel"
|12-31-2011 07:15 PM|
didn't see it supports ARC and 3D.
No ARC and 3D passthrough, it just is obsoleted.

Power rating is 130W at 6 ohms - matching specs of NR609 / RC360 (the NR509 is rated at 110W at 6 ohms)
Upscaling shows Marvel Qdeo 4k (again an obvious feature on the NR609 / RC360 not found on the NR509)
Confirm what I am saying here:
Check the specs on the NR609 and you will see they are identical to the receiver on the S7400 (which is the RC360). So the S7400 comes with the RC360 and the S7409 with the NR609. Which in case you don't know are essentially the same.
Check for specs for yourself if you want to verify what I am saying:
Here is the NR609:
Here is the NR509:
Unless of course Onkyo is lying about the specs on the S7400 receiver then you may be correct. I can tell you that the receiver sounded every bit as good as my SR608 that I have in my home theater!

OP - you need to change the title to include the NR509, not 609. Current price for the Onkyo S7409 (that includes the NR609 receiver) is $477. You got me all excited

the s7400 comes with the nr509
if you look closely at the pictures, you can see the difference

My brother in law bought one of them 2 weeks ago refurb on the Onkyo deal direct and it sounds great after I calibrated it. The S7400 and S7409 are only 5.1 setups as far as speakers go, but the real gem is the receiver TX-NR609 with the free ipod dock. The speakers are pretty much free and that is a great little sub that comes with the package.
Never seen this anywhere near this low just look at what others are selling this for it weas $699 at Fry's when I went by there last week!

|Sunderware||I've been dying to pick up a HT-RC360/TX-NR609... and the extra set of speakers could be useful. But how do you know that the receiver is a TX-NR609? I can't find that documented anywhere...|
