FYI, if anyone is still looking at this thread:
Dell Home, Small Biz and MPP have this monitor discounted again by only $40 this time:
Market Value $369.00
Total Savings -$40.00
Dell Price $329.00
Home says: Expires Thursday, January 19, 2012
But, if you go to MPP:
MPP Customers Save 5% Off Monitors with coupon 9RTJKC?L2$Q$D4
Expires Saturday, February 04, 2012
You can get it down to $312.55
Still not as good as the OP, but not full price.

Still waiting for this to ship.
Seeing all the new stuff from CES makes me want to cancel and wait to see if anything better comes out. Anyone seen a new IPS aiming for the 300-450 range coming out of CES? Haven't seen anything yet...just 700~1K 3D IPS stuff from Samsung/LG

Probably. I know the monitor isn't HDCP compliant -- but the content the laptop's spewing out isn't HDCP content.
Again, stupid Dell.

So maybe your monitor isn't HDCP compliant but the laptop HDMI output is. Man I hate that. It's such baloney. Our devices are crippled by this stuff. Sometimes I think we're going backwards.

Looks like this is dead now... just checked on the Small Biz, MPP and Home sites and they are all showing it back to $369.00 for me.
I've been watching this for a few weeks and these deals come and go - it was $40 off on the home site for a while and if you search on the other threads there were coupons that would work, etc.
I cannot predict what will come, but looks like this monitor is routines put on some sort of sale.
One other point, this also included the 3Yr PREMIUM PANEL Ltd. Warranty, 3 yr Advanced Exchange - which is really good from the other threads and reviews - 1 dead pixel means an overnight shipping of new monitor, etc.:
Can't live without your Dell™ Monitor- You're covered with Advanced Exchange from Dell. Your Dell Monitor includes all the benefits of Advanced Exchange1, Dell's service and support and Limited Warranty2 for three years. Take this opportunity to extend the benefits of Advanced Exchange and protect your investment for up to 5 years. What is Advanced Exchange- In the event you have a warranty issue (problem) with your Dell Monitor that cannot be resolved over the phone, we will ship you a replacement unit the next business day. Unpack your new unit, ship back the defective unit and continue to enjoy the power of your Dell Monitor.
1Replacement system or replacement part will be dispatched, if necessary, following phone-based troubleshooting, in advance of receipt of returned defective part or system. Replacements may be refurbished. Defective unit must be returned. Availability varies. Other conditions apply.

I'm guessing if you tried this monitor for a while you might change your mind. It's bigger (unless your monitor really is 23 foot), higher resolution, 16:10 vs the 16:9 of 1080P, better color, better viewing angles, better features.
I want it.

DVI is electrically equivalent to HDMI minus the audio. That's why simple adapters like this should work.

But, the lack of true 8-bit color is not a big deal for most people, I agree. The anti-glare coating is strong, too, but for people who hate reflections it may not be unwelcome.
Dell probably likes such a strong coating for fluorescent overhead office lighting situations.
