Folks, customer service issues aside, US Mattress is not responsible for a poor choice in bedding. Anyone that chooses a mattress over the internet, by description and price, without every laying on it in a store is likely to not be satisfied with their purchase. It is not USM's fault that a "xxxx Firm" is not firm enough for you.
The way to buy from an online mattress company is to FIRST go into a retail store, find the mattress you like, THEN get the details of the mattress construction, (number of springs, type and thickness of each layer of padding, etc), and then find the mattress with the same construction online and buy it. The mattress model name is always different among different retailers. You have to go by construction. I bought a Sterns and Foster based on one I tried in Sleepy's. I went to the Sleepy's website after trying it out in the store, and got the DETAILED mattress construction info, then went to USM and found the same one for about $270 less, even though it was Sleepy's Presidents Day "sale". It was delivered from USM and it's the EXACT same firmness and feel as the one I tested in Sleepys.
I see many posts from people not happy with the firmness level of their mattress. None of them mentioned going through the steps I mentioned here. That is the likely reason for most of the satisfaction problems in this thread. If you buy without testing it out, you are spending $1000 on a coin flip as to whether you will like it.

I am having problems with us-mattress.com. I originally bought the mattress on 11/27. Didn't receive the mattress till 1/5/2012. I initially filed a warranty claim on my cooper mountain pillowtop mattress due to popping springs. I also notice that the mattress sinks deeper in certain spots. I sent the warranty claim on 2/22 and have been waiting forever to receive a call on my warranty claim.
Then the last couple of weeks I've been trying to call them. I always get forwarded to the voice mail of someone named Marshall on the warranty department. This morning I finally got the call from Marshall and he basically said "we need to see pictures of the problem". And I'm like, my main problem is the popping springs. And he replies "oh for that we need to send somebody over and there is a charge of $80". WTF? I feel like I waited all that time to be given the run around. I dunno about your experience with this company but I am really having serious doubts.
Then I decided to just do a comfort exchange instead. If it's gonna cost me $80 and moer inconvenience I might as well pay the $100 comfort exchange and be done with it. I called customer service where the lady promptly tells me she will email me the form. I then asked as I've read here that for some users, us-mattress still honors the price from a very recent sale. I was hoping they would honor the president's sale price of $649 for the cooper mountain firm. The lady then for some reason said "ok I will forward you to the warranty dept". First of all WHY THE WARRANTY DEPT? And guess what, as she transferred me over... the call goes straight to Marshall's voice mail.
I really feel like they are trying to make it difficult to either claim a warranty on a defective mattress and also wouldn't offer the same courtesy they offer other slickdeals members on a comfort exchange. I am now at the point of regretting I bought from this company. There is so much hassle.

|united||Received the corita extra firm set, I am so disappointed at it. Extra firm is NOT firm at all and it's less firm than the FIRM mattress of the same brand beautyrest world class. When it stands up, it looks like it will fall apart. A lot of other problems. Anyone else received yours?|

|Commissar||Dont understand why anyone would buy a mattress for themselves without first trying them out. I spent an entire day shopping for beds and there is a world of difference in the same manufacturer bed style from store to store.|

Costco has King/Cal King Mattress sets (including boxspring and delivery) for $739.99.
Roseville Plush Cal King Mattress Set
Sealy Posturepedic Mattress Set
Box Spring Included

Sealy Posturepedic Mattress Set

I don't know if they are the same as US Mattress ones, but the reviews are horrible.

|HappyCow||Supposedly the sale has been extended... but the links in op don't work anymore, and I can only find the sets, and removing the spring box doesn't decrease the price Could anyone tell me what I am doing wrong? TIA!|

I just finished reading this entire thread, though I did not go to the posted links.
I'm as baffled, now, as I was the last time I went out to buy a mattress.
Don't like the mattress I purchased (though it was inexpensive; mom & pop); it's starting to sag.
I'd like a fine mattress, but I'm not willing to GAMBLE $1000 that I'll be getting something fine.
Not happy... at all.

|carbondeal||come to think of it, since these mattress is made to order. Does anyone else think they would use even cheaper material to make these to make their margins higher? Like the TVs on sale on black friday are made especially to be in the low price range.|

One is the classic - a 800 coil count. $600 for a Queen, the other is their elite series with a 850 count. $800 range as I remembered. I believe the black series are 900 counts, Macy's carries them and selling them at $1,000 range. and the one I purchase via USM has a 1000 coils count.
More counts as I understand has a better support resolution. ie more contact points. and have more coils to share the load, but can introduce more pressure points. (a nail bed came into my mind for some reason ).

is it really reputable?
I purchased the corita extra firm mattress($699) the foundation ($300), the total should $999 which showed in the email received after I placed the order yesterday night, but today I recieved the order invoice, which shows $699 for the mattress and $300*2 for two spring boxes( two twin size boxes make a king size one).
I wish they are reputable. Called them and were told they will refund $300.
