|eric5469||Bought this camera Saturday at best buy after reading reviews between this and the canon sx40 for the last 3 months. I hadn't made up my mind until I played with them both in the store for about an hour. The sony just looks and feels better to me.They are both nice cameras tho. Anyway, I had to run back up to best buy after seeing this post so I could get the price difference taken off my credit card purchase. I paid $449 for it on saturday(which was on sale lol). This is an online price, store still shows $449.|

|lolly67||2005 I got the Sony DSCH5 and loved it for everything except when using flash...it always overexposed something wicked and I could never figure out how to change that so I only used it for daytime photos....then last year it crapped out after a rogue wave splashed some water on me beachside...so I've been looking for a point and shoot camera to replace..anyone know how this Sony performs at night or indoors with flash?|

Depending on what you want the camera for, if you can get the Canon under $300 I would give it a shot over the HX200 for $400.

So I snagged a Canon SX40 for $250 from Amazon but I still have it NIB.
Should I gift that one and get the sony instead? What does the extra $158 get me?

|buister||That's a nice camera! I used to have a similar-looking H50.|

|Bushrod||I own the HX9V, the 2011 compact version of this camera but very similar. Absolutely love it EXCEPT in certain situations the color accuracy is very off, and the settings aren't very adjustable. (I've always had this issue with Sony.) Great picture quality overall, great videos, and packed with cool features (sweep panorama, background defocus, HDR with no tripod, great in low light, etc).|

|sknight398||According to search, this is the second lowest price point it's ever been. Well, on Slickdeals at least. Not bad. I guess Buydig had it for $399.99 a while back. Nice find.|
