That's why they have carry out no tip, no deliver charge. I got a Slickdeal of 5$ for 10$ GC, Ordered 2 specialty pizzas with about 7 toppings with 50OFF coupon each and it came out to 16$ total picked up from my home a Mile away, how is that inefficient
Some SD'ers confuse me.

sometimes its the convenience that you are paying for. that costs money. time is money.

tasted all the artisans for the first time ever. i think the use of the alfredo, a very processed one at that, it saves them of using mozz cheese, at least at my location, i think it saves them 30-50cents of cheese, maybe 20% cost of 1 pie. this floury rue of 'creaminess' swaps out the amount of cheese used. when ordering, i didnt get that impression based on the itemized constructionlist, thought i'd get a standard layer of cheese (like the sausage/trio pepper one does as it has not alfakeo sauce) plus the alfakeo, but no. you get like 80% alfakeo and 20% cheese.
acceptible for the 50% off (or even 30-40% off) but the crust so thin on a small 13x9, i dont recommend buying these artisans for $7.99.

Pretty sweet deal. I just ordered a large deep dish with 3 toppings and the driver came with 2 mediums instead because my store ran out of larges.
Super slick for me.

So what about fuel costs? I used to deliver back in the day when gas prices were $2 cheaper, and I'd make $40-$60 a day in tips working 6 hours a day. That money almost always went to fueling up the car.
Also, the delivery charge was $2 and split between the driver and the restaurant. Any complaints by the customer, whether it was your fault (forgot napkins or sauce, took too long, etc) or the person that made the pizza (overcooked, missing toppings, etc) you were required to go back and re-deliver which meant more gas costs and no extra delivery charge as well as missing out on orders.
I was told to speed, run red lights, break any law I can get away with. I was once tipped $2 on a $300 order. One person wanted her change back on a $19.75 order. I went through bad neighborhoods, had suspicious looking guys ask me "where's my free pizza?" and had my car hit with rocks as I drove by.
I couldn't leave that job fast enough.
Oh and this wasn't a big chain, just a smaller one with multiple stores.
