|B/B||Hundreds of these were sold and so far one maybe two is a problem. Not bad. If your rebate is still processing be patient it will come.|

Well after getting the laptop back on Friday, it's Wednesday and windows suddenly failed to boot up. After doing start up repair (which couldn't resolve the issue) I can boot into windows but none of my steam games work and everything is behaving so oddly. A scandisc of the c: drive indicated failures at various sectors. So I need yet another RMA. I'm debating pushing for a refund for this laptop now. This is just ridiculous. Never again will I buy an Asus product.

Rebate denied because UPC was missing, didn't keep copy of things, can someone share a copy of their UPC? I do have a copy of the SN and PN part of the box, but don't think that's the UPC.
Your help is much appreciated

|mig0||My hard drive has decided to take a dump. System isn't bootable. How do I access the hidden partitions on the drive, and does anyone have suggestions on software to try to read the drive to retrieve sensitive data I have on the drive? I didn't really have anything there of significant importance but my steam information was there. Putting the drive in windows, I can access the data drive which was empty but not my c: drive.|

OK, cool. Thanks! I may go out on a limb, and get an 8G stick, and see if I can take it over the 8G max that they say it can use.

Why did you replace the 4G stick that was already there? Why buy 2 4G's instead of just 1 and putting the new one in the open slot? Sorry, just asking, as I've got one of these laptops arriving this week and want to bump up the RAM from 4G to 8G. Thanks!

just wanted to say, I added 8gb of RAM....bought this kit right here
it was $30 last week....factory came with one 4gb stick and now I'm running two 4gb sticks in DDR mode...totally worth it! now it's time for an SSD and this thing is almost ultrabook status without the high def screen & slim form factor

I'm seeing a strange problem occur. Probably an odd driver issue but sometimes the screen randomly decides to adopt a brownish hue. When I go to the graphics property and start the process of recalibrating the colors, that resets everything and fixes it. But I'm not sure what is causing this.
(edit) So during windows boot up, everything is fine and then suddenly the brown hue takes over. But when I go to windows video settings and start messing with the controls (not even applying it yet) touching something like hue fixes it. This is starting to annoy me.

|fanglekai||Often you can use different touchpad drivers or simply remove gestures, etc. and have the touchpad work just fine.|
