My contract expires on 11/26, so I called the other day to see what my options were. I already have a great plan (2 phones, 1,000 min. shared, unlimited text/data (5gbs before throttle), and myfaves) for $109.xx after tax), so I didn't want to rock the boat too much.
Basically, I bought two GS3s for $179.99 each, then got two $50 credits for the phones and two $20 data credits. That brought the price down to $109.99 per phone. A second CSR told me that I could get an additional $50 MIR per phone. The first CSR didn't mention that, so if I can't get it I will try and complain saying that was a decisive factor in me getting the phone.
In addition, we got the $10 off for 24 months.
I think this is a great deal. If I can do the MIR, then it will be pretty smoking.

|ItsallBS||I definitely need to speak to retentions they told me something like $319 for the s3 and $369 for the note 2.....very disappointed.|

This is what I got after my second call to retentions:
$122 and change including tax and shipping + $50 mail rebate for the S3 and $10 off monthly for the next two years.

i'm out of contract for almost 6 months, just called retention today and got the following deals
2 note 2 @ 169.99
1 s3 @ 129.99 after $50 MIB
$10/month discount for 2 years
139.99 family plan for 4 lines
2 lines are unlimited talk/text/data
3rd line ($10/mo included in 139.99) 500 min talk/unlimited text
4th line (free for 2 years) 500 min talk
Good deal? well, i'm happy with it . the price she offered for note 2 was amazing!
Thanks OP and SDers!

I'm going through the rebate for my new phones right now.
Did anyone have to mail in the "original UPC barcode" along with the print forms (like it says on the final page of online submission)?
Or can you just mail in the printed out forms by themselves?

I'm not sure how I managed to get in on this but we got 2 SGSIIIs for an $80 profit and $27 reduction in our monthly charges.
We ended up paying $20 for the phone order but each phone came with a $50 MIR. Our plan was also switched from our Classic Family 750 minute/Unlimited data (5GB 4G cap) to Android Preferred Web 1000 minutes/Unlimited data (5GB 4G cap, which includes unlimited wifi hotspot use) and $10 Loyalty Discount per month (24 months), saving us a total of $27 saved per month, for the next 2 years and if i can't get another loyalty discount in 2 years, we'll still be saving $17 per month. We don't text on t-mobile's network (use google voice instead) so there is no credit there.
Not sure if it helps but t-mobile listed our phones as eligible for upgrade 2 days prior to my call and our previous 2 year contract was supposed to be up on 11/4/12
I rooted the phones directly out of the box but read that i couldn't flash a custom ROM because none of them support the now OS integrated free WiFi calling. It is no longer a standalone app in ICS
Thanks for the motivation OP

|dn3g3l||i'm planning to add data plan to one of my line which is available for upgrade, is the $10 plan still available for this?|

|Devil_Z||I have lines eligible for upgrade, but I'm still under contract for another year. They still won't budge from $130. Guess I don't have enough leverage. Still deciding if I want to wait it out and switch to a different carrier after my contract is up.|

yes my contract doesnt end until october of next year but im on family plan. my main number is eligible right now for "early upgrade plus"

|tvdang7||called the first time to upgrade my sister's phone to an s3 they gave the 200 dollar credit and 10 bucks per month off ONLY if all 5 lines upgrade. i called back to talk to a female rep. She told me 179.99 + 50 dollar rebate card. I told her to price match the other carriers saying its $100 with other carriers so she counter offered with 200 dollar credit for my sisters line only. so 179.99 -50 dollar rebate -200 dollar credit = profit.|
