The good thing is that the update for 2013 should be free. So even though I have an active license right now, I opened an exception on my sig, and bought this box from Fry's to use next year. Prefer one single rebate than the regular two rebate game.
But soon I will be needing two boxes per year. That's 2 PCs, 1 HTPC, 1 Laptop, 2 Phones and 2 Tablets. And that's just for me and the wife

No OS is entirely immune. That said, much of modern, prevalent malware that doesn't rely on user stupidity, rely upon on social engineering (though these two can be argued to be one and the same). Mac OS has enjoyed relatively little malware for the past few years largely due to its comparatively small market share.
