Hope you guys can help me. I bought one of these from J&R the other day, and I just received it. But it looks like the hard drive has been used. The packaging looks like it has been opened and plastic protector on one side has lots of bubbles like it has been peeled off and put back on. Do you know if there's a way for me to tell if the drive has been used before?
When I plugged in the drive to my mac it wouldn't even let me save files in it because it has been formatted for "Windows NT File System (NTFS)" according to the disk utility. The box says that it's compatible for Macs, so it should work out of the box, right? What do you think? Was this hard drive previously used?

|m6284505||Are these for sale in store? I am not a member but a friend of mine might be able to get one for me. They aren't the 'online' type of person so ordering online might be a stretch for them.|

J&R also sells this for $199.99. Use promo code SPOOKY to get another $5 off.

So are these Western Digital drives? The first pictures says "HGST: A Western Digital Company"
Edit: it looks like it stands for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies which was bought by WD in March 2012. How reliable are their drives?
