|oldee||Bought the GP-9500EB from Home Depot this past summer for the same price. I live in north NJ and was out of power for 7 days from Sandy(out Mon 6pm on Sun 4pm) Ran unit continuously except for refueling and changing oil (yes, buy oil 10w30 change every 50 hours, takes 1 quart) ran for 115+ hours has a LCD display to keep track of hours used. I also shut down for a couple of hours each day to conserve gas. Has a 5 gallon tank last about 10-11 hours on average depending on what we were running. The most was 14 hours after we condensed food from one freezer to another and shut it down. Buy extra gas cans 5 gallon cans work best, not to heavy to carry when full. Very happy with generator, seen other posts from other sites about box soaked with oil. I had the same issue, unit is shipped without oil installed (they give you a quart to get started) but factory had to run before shipping and drained oil. Factory added label to oil cap to warn customer to fill with oil, not a good seal so remaining oil leaked out. This is my first generator, unit has a voltage regulator but make sure to purchase surge protectors for electronics, TVs, cable boxes, dvd players, etc. Also, if you have any fancy programmable controllers for your heating or HVAC systems, install a surge protector there too, my brother lost two programmers for his HVAC at $200 each. Good Luck. David Cresskill, NJ|

If you're interested, they have them back in stock.
I ordered mine again and called to confirm that they are, indeed, in stock. The csr said, "yes."
Don't blow my inventory this time :-)

|dchay||I got the same email. Pretty bummed since I ordered 2 days before it went out of stock. Oh well. What do you think the chances are that this shows up again?|

Sorry for your inconvenience; I hope you don't need that genny, right now!
Understandable that they ran out, given the inclement weather.
Concerning Costco's compensation, again I say: "sweet!"

Costco feels my pain
Costco guarantee? Well, I just got an email from them (after ordering the generator a few days ago) and they said it was out of stock and my order is cancelled and I will not be billed.
Also, they will be sending me a $100 Costco gift card for my inconvenience. Not too bad.
