I received mine on 12/05, and as soon as I moved the box, I heard something rattle .. not good. I took the Klipsch box out from the shipping box, still rattling .. i thought may be the grill is lose. I took it to the basement where I would set it up with my Statements over the weekend.
So today (12/08/2012) I took the woofer out of the Klipsch, put it down tilted it back and saw the port tube lose...I will RMA it though.
Anyone else received a rattling sub woofer?

|purbeast||got mine last night and hooked it up, and i gotta say i'm happy with this for $300. it's defintely better than the 10 yr old JBL that it replaced (which was $400 back then). i played some halo 4 with it last night and it really amplified the sound of the weapons and i could feel them in my chest as i fired. i tested it out with the opening scene of saving private ryan too and it was nice there as well.|

I disagree. Subs play a lot more into the overall sound that most people want to give credit for, and good subs are expensive. Using a $600 sub with $300 LCR isn't uncommon and actually makes sense. That said, the F12 is a great sub. Especially for movies and is what I'm buying. This Klipsch is a much better sub and if you have the money to spend it's the better choice.

All you need to connect them is a cable like this: RCA audio cable .

I do find myself turning down the volume from time to time. Just wait until your unit is fully broken in!

Just got my delivery today and I am impressed with the box in box packing with 2" foam padding all around. This thing is heavy (and huge). The outer box was slightly bruised but the inside box is in perfect shape and so is the sub inside it. I think it's a little bit of an overkill for me in my apartment but I bought it so I don't have to swap it out in a year or so when we move to house.
Only tested music via airplay to my reciever so far, but I'm quite impressed even with the volume at -15db (50% ?)
Denon 1912 open box (due to clearance order screw up) @ bestbuy: $90
+ 4 year extended warranty: $19
Energy Take classic 5: $150 @ newegg
Klipsch rw-12d: $300 @ newegg
Very Happy indeed
