Got my unit yesterday. It was the LIVE model with built in WiFi. I do like the interface better than the LIVE PLUS and it boots a ton faster. A little disappointed in dts stream so far but at least it's better than 2.0 sound.
Thanks again OP!

Sorry for bumping an old thread but does anyone know if I can setup a VPN account on this? Are there network settings that allow me to configure the VPN?

|hoeg||Sale ended, but they lowered the price so it's still available at $59.|

Roku is for more online streaming. It has more online channels (free & subscription based)
WD TV Live has limited channels. However it can play most formats of local media files.
also, consider this:
Roku doesn't support Youtube and Spotify whereas WD TV Live supports it
WD TV Live doesn't support Amazon video whereas Roku supports it
Both units support Netflix, HuluPlus and Pandora.

Well I also have a Boxee box. So I will let you know how they compare when the wd arrives. The Boxee has a really slick interface, and is a fairly good set it and forget it device. Do not have to mess with jukeboxes etc. since it will automatically index my movies/tv shows. I just copy them to my network share, and Boxee does the rest. It has an RF only remote (which is quite nice and has a full keyboard) but if you want to use it with a Harmony remote for eg, you will need to buy a USB media center remote for it ($7 on amazon).
I would not mind buying another Boxee for my second media center, except this was much cheaper, so I'm giving it a shot.

|Inessence||Aside from sticker price, anyone know how this matches up to Boxee Box?|

|centosan||How would one compare this to the Roku in the FP in terms of channel wise? Seems like the roku has additional channels to support tv and such.|

Package Contents: WD TV Live Streaming Media Player
Elsewhere: This media player includes builtin Wi-Fi
I think it's safe to say this is the Streaming media player. In 4 1

The reason for using plus in the title is that allot of people know this new player as the new generation of the Live Plus so it would not be smart for the seller to omit that being that ebay searched are all based on key words.
