I have a Caviar Green 500GB 3.5" internal and a RE2 Internal
Only difference is a 3W power draw. Nothing much.

I actually own one of such. Use it in my Dell Latitude. Replaced the internal drive with 128 SSD and put WD into a cradle which bought on ebay for 20 bucks. The drive is huge and rather fast. But the speed in my setup is immaterial. Because main events are happening with SSD laptop boots and starts applications very fast. It starts Visual Studio in less then 10 seconds. Unfortunately withought reprogramming the BIOS the drive in the cradle is not bootable.
Take into account, that this drive "eats" 50% less, then 7200 counterpart.

This drive can actually match my older 1TB Caviar Black drive from 3 yrs ago. The current Black Scorpio and Caviar Black aren't that much faster, so most people won't notice the difference.
I use this as a storage drive, but it's plenty fast though it doesn't come close to my SSD.

I'm still using a WD3200BEVT, which I used to replace my 80gb hd, on my fat ps3 3 yrs ago though.
The new slim ps3s seem to be hotter than the old ones so make sure they are well ventilated.

I guess get a smaller faster drive if you use your ps3 mainly for games to load them quickly than the stock drive now that I have considered some of the other comments.
