|wjp35||Just got word my rebate for this has been approved & processed. When they said it would be up to 8 weeks they weren't kidding. Still a good deal, but the rebate part is a little annoying.|

|chinq6t||This is my first SSD. I plopped this SSD into an external enclosure then connected to my laptop via USB. Nothing happens. Nothing shows up on My Computer. Did I miss a step or is this DOA?|

In for one; perfect for me because it includes the desktop bracket. Shipped out UPS same day.
Rebate requires both online submission and paper forms mailed, which is an unnecessary PITA. Advance Auto uses this same rebate company and it's all done online. They want a copy of the UPC, which means waiting for delivery before submitting rebate.

If you have a desktop, you could boot off a SSD and store the media on a second drive which is the HDD. If you have a laptop and modest storage capacity needs and need the responsiveness of an SSD, you might be happy with an SSD with a non-Sandforce controller such as the Samsung 830 or one of the Intel SSDs with their own controller.

|wjp35||I like the fact that these have the desktop install kit included. Bought one when they were $99 at Newegg, and wish I had bought a couple more. Problem solved. In for 2. Thanks OP.|
