|Deuce2||The Magic Chef brand is a very old name (from the American Stove Company), which was eventually sold to Maytag. After Whirlpool bought Maytag, they spun off the Magic Chef brand to a couple different outfits that import cheap Chinese products and slap a familiar American brand name on them. Not recommended.|

Wonder how to find out if any microwave is good in tight spaces (front venting)? Anyone know of an inexpensive front venting microwave out there?
I'm only asking because the "in-laws" have one in their RV.

|clubba||Bought one of the Magic Chef microwaves last year when it was on here. It died within the year, and since I hadn't kept the original packaging Magic Chef customer support said they wouldn't do anything for me. The first poster who said this was "ultra high quality" or whatever is ridiculous. This is the lowest of the low quality. I would not spend $38 on this unit. I picked up a unit for ~$59 at Costco that not only works better, but has already outlasted the Magic Chef.|

Oddly, this Magic Chef says it has an 8 year warranty on the Magnetron, which is hard to believe (and usually it is the electronics that go wonky in these cheap microwaves anyway, not the magnetron).

That clear plastic coating is supposed to come off, just peal it away. I'm surprised by the number of people that don't realize this; most new kitchen appliances with glossy membrane type push buttons come with that coating intended to be removed by the end user. Likely this is listed in the manual, but who reads those these days.
