In other news, was able to nab the Sceptre soundbar after being 400+ on the waitlist... may not be the best quality thing out there but for only $38 I'm hoping it'll be a great deal for some bedroom sound.

The Toshiba lasted about 5 minutes. The TCL was available for at least 20 mins.

On the front page or the "all TVs" page? Are these still going on? I know I'm late.

TCL 42" 1080p LCD HDTV - $179
Toshiba 40E220U 40" 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV - $179

The Square Trade Open Box warranty is $45, so if you got a full 2-yr TCL warranty, the ST would make it 3 years.
Even without the TCL warranty, a 42" tv with 1 year warranty for $207 (TV: $180, 40% off warranty: $27) sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

How much was the Amazon Warehouse deals warranty? I have a 40% off Squaretrade code and would throw that on this set.

Since I figured there was no manufacturer's warranty, I bought a 3 yr Square Trade warranty with the TV. After I made the purchase I realized the warranty is only for new TVs. Called Square Trade immediately and the rep said they have a warranty for Amazon open-box items but it doesn't kick in until yr 2 of ownership since the TV comes with a 1 yr manufacturer's warranty.
I was surprised by this, so I called Amazon and confirmed.
The Amazon rep was less than 100% confident in his answers but I'll call back today to confirm the warranty one more time.
You can take this info, or leave it. I got my 42" TV < $200 so I'm happy.
